As someone who grew up at the track, one thing I’ll never forget is one weekend we were out there and someone blew up their motor on Saturday during the elimination races, but the other guy red lit so they were still in the running. It was mostly a local event so there weren’t any big teams out there or anything, mostly just the racers and a few friends each as their “crews”. So about 3 of these “crews” spent that night helping this guy rebuild his engine so he could finish the races the next day. They worked in shifts, with 1-2 people from the team who’s motor blew working with each crew so that they could keep tabs. The guy’s wife cooked dinner for everyone while they worked on the car. I think they ended up finishing at about 3-4 in the morning. The guy did 1 shakedown pass before turning it up to finish the brackets. I think he ended up coming in 3rd, so not bad all things considered. The only payment anyone got for helping that night was just dinner and all the beer they could drink, and that was all they ever expected. It was always amazing to watch something like that happen, to see everyone come together just so that they could all have a good weekend. Plus, you never know when it could be you who needs people to stay up till 4 in the morning helping you rebuild your engine so that you can finish the races the following day.
Dude! You rock! I love your videos. Keep up the good work young man. I appreciate all the hard work and time that you put in to each video. Thank you for all you do. ✌️😎
Santa pod is great for bikes, I love going to Mallory park too. I love hearing those bikes scream round at stupid speeds, but I now love drag too. Thanks to your channel.
Drag racing is the last motorsport that a regular person can compete in. All other forms of motorsports cost you so much money that the average person cannot do it. Drag racing is only as expensive as you want to go fast. Meaning you could go to the track and run 16s all day long and all it cost you was a tank full of gas and an entry fee. Now if you want to take that 16-second car and go faster you have that option. Like anything the more money you spend the better equipment you have. That's what's great about this sport. I raised through the '80s and into the '90s and now as I sit back and remember it was some of the best time of my life. I made some lifetime friends that I would have only met at the track. If you don't want to go to the track and start racing without knowing anything that is fine. You can go and watch as a spectator walk around and talk to the people who are working on their bikes or cars and just watch how things work at the tree. If you live in the state of Maryland you are in good luck. We have a few very nice tracks no matter which way you go in Maryland except East you can hit a track.
Iv'e never experienced it.Sounds awsome on your videos. But i bet you experience the feeling through the ground from these, and i can only think of the smell of the fuel. The sound from 1500 hp:i can only imagine.Greetings from the UK.Unfortunately still in the EU.This 31st of OCTOBER.
We have a drag strip in Tn not to far from where I live, But i've only seen car's n trucks race down it so far. I don't get to go often tho. I got to go watch a Nascar race in Tn. when I was younger also. I also got to go watch sum Nascar racing down in Ga. at a circle dirt track a few times. One of these days I hope I get to watch sum powerful motorcycle's like on here drag race n person! That would be awesome.
If I got a chance I definitely think I would ride one. You really need to do a lot of testing though and a lot of short passes! When I worked on Robert hight's funny car, we also tested Brittany dragster the entire year . She just did starting line hits only and slowly worked her way up over the course of the year.. granted she worked her way up quickly :-) this was in 2012 by the way, she debuted in 2013. They do the same thing with Courtney in 2011
I have been around top fuel cars and a top fuel motor bike the sound is insane your ears pain from that noise, the motor is wickedly responsive, very temperamental motors but "goose flesh" INSANE
Bro, u hav a quite great clip of contents but unfortunately u guys still didn't upgrade video clip to make it more satisfying to watch till d end with DIFFERENT camera angles. Guys, u should know what kind of vid is the most now a days viewers wanna see.
Not many people realise how much skill is required to stay alive on those machines. If the front wheel comes up at high speed and you immediately throttle off you can lose it as the wheel comes crashing down and creates a huge speed wobble. Sometimes they have to power through a wheelie. It's all about split second decisions. It's not for the faint hearted.

I remember watching the Michigan Madman run his 6 L Chevy powered bike in the 70s at SP....great times.
Great coverage.
I miss it. I got down to 7.98s before surgeries stopped me. I miss the people especially.
Never have, would love to!
AWESOME 🔟🔟🔟🔟🔟🔟
I've been a regular at Santa Pod since mid-70s
The drivers beer belly defeats aerodynamics.

I agree, let's see some mid-track action
on the Red Bike look at 1:36 and see if You See what I see.Just look at the back of his boot
Watching from Hawaii, Ocean View on the Big Islands.
Most definitely
Use an almost identical 2nd hose suction and discharge hoses running fire through them
Honestly I say hell yes! But when if it actually cames down to it probably not. Just like everyone else who's say they would.
Have to get ready for work
I love drag race
this is all new to me but it seems the street tire guys in the video i saw before were way more consistent and one guy ran a 6.51.
Quickly ❤
Wicked video ' J ' 👍.I would do it , in a heartbeat 😝😉
I never have but it’s a bit difficult because I’m in Germany.

I was there
I saw Rodney Williford do 232mph on his Pro Street motorcycle. Now Top Fuel is lunch bag let down.
Saw Larry McBride at Atlanta Drag do a 242 mph.
What's the distance of this race
You asked and YES, I’d ride one. I raced a top fuel Harley.
Simbah simbah resink😂
Yes I would love to ride a top fuel bike
Yup 👍😎
How many meter??
I’m an ex-biker but never been to a drag meet. Looks cool as fuck.
A bolt fell off the red bike at staging behind the riders left foot after heating his tire
It was the end cap from the foot peg. Wouldn't really be an issue if it's not there.
@@jedisaki730 thank you for clearing that up
Looks like they going into a head wind.
Whoever reads this: May God make your parents live long to see you succeed.😇

Hope the guy on the red bike got a warranty when he bought the motorcycle.😂
Where and when
Kusuka lihat balap.
Just to answer the summer question: SUMMER in ENGLAND is 32 minutes long sometime in August usually.
these top fuels are not faster than the US drag racers running street tire no wheelie bar trapping at 6.5 and 232 mph.
yep
these bikes are slow really.

Are you back to real 1/4 mile drag racing yet
Well sir, 5.96 at 223 hmmmm. I think I would like to try it, slowing down and stopping not so much.
That wind generator in the background is really distracting

No, those are way beyond my skill level.
