- Today I explain the evidence that heavily indicates Hawks (Takami Keigo) and Dabi knew each other as children. This theory draws upon information from the early days of the manga, all the way up to the most recent chapters.

Whenever Dabi's backstory is about to be revealed, it will just be interrupted or will randomly switch to another character's backstory just so Horikoshi can torture the audience xD

Dabi’s lack of a name also makes a lot of sense if he was truly admitted to that hero course. Hawks was told that his old name didn’t matter anymore, and Dabi has been saying the whole series that his real name doesn’t matter.

More over, when Bakugo was kidnapped, Dabi only taunted Todoroki by name. And since Shōto was isolated for most of his life, he wouldn’t recognize if it was his brother or not.

What if hawks’s ideal of “wanting to have a hero society where people can take it easy” is a reaction to what happened with Touya back in the day.
Hawks as a child knowing that his close friend overworked himself to death vows to make a society where heroes can relax...
That'd be a crazy loop wouldn't it, Dabi becoming a villain because he experienced first hand the lengths people would go too in order to "create" a hero and Hawks became a hero because he saw first hand through Dabi how far they would push people to become hero's, two opposite ends of the same coin

I always find it funny when people are like "but shouldn't they recognize him?" This is anime ya'll, where Team Rocket can put on some sunglasses and now they look like completely different people.
But to be fair, an adult with burn scars and different hair color can look a lot different than a child with no scars and different hair.
Min Himawari I think scars wouldnt equate not knowing someone unless the eye shape is heavily damaged. And yes you could look different bc of the hair, but if you look at someone closely the first thing you’ll ever look at are the eyes.

I have a feeling that if this is true, Dabi/Touya also probably resents Shoto because he was chosen as the "perfect child" by endeavor and hardly spent any time with him. That would also explain why Dabi mocked Shoto the first time they met.

yes i think so too. Toya was probably raised in being told that he was all powerful and was meant to beat All Might. Then he just got replaced and thrown away when Shoto arrived. btw being told at a young age that he was practically invincible is probably why he grew up that way. Thinking that he could beat anyone and that he was the one Hawks “should have kept his eyes on”

Also if you pay attention to the desing it seems like his whole body was burnt to crisp, and he attached skin into his hands and upper face.

I think from his scars, he wouldn’t fake his own death. But since Endeavor says he’s sorry he “killed” Touya, I think he may have survived and now wants to kill all heroes as revenge for what he’s been through.

I’m glad Hori is adding more to Dabi than just “he’s the son of Endeavor”, there’s an entire other story happening under our noses
It’s soo cool how Davi being shotos brother is not even the most interesting part because it has been practically confirmed but what is interesting is seeing how our respect for endeavour will be called into question once we know exactly what he did to him
And that’s why it’s going to make sense and will help tie the plot together if Dabi really is Touya. Horikoshi knows exactly what he’s doing making us hate Endeavor at first sight, and then the redemption arc making him more likeable, but then we get to find out what really happened to Touya, and whatever reason that may be that Endeavor is responsible for than he isn’t the only one who would be questioned. Literally, the whole hero society will be damned.

All of endeavor's children have characteristics of both sides of the family.
This would explain why Dabi's flames are blue, like ice, instead of red -- although it's also true that blue flames are hotter than red. So the secret to Dabi's firepower must be that he inherited something form his mother that allows him to hyper-oxygenate his flames. Quite plausible given that ice is chemically composed of hydrogen and oxygen...
I propose that Dabi actually has two quirks and that the reason his body cannot withstand the flames is that his second quirk augments the first past the normal capabilities his body is otherwise capable of handling.
This second quirk allows him to manipulate oxygen in the air.
This would make a lot of sense, his fire is also very fluid, like water, which Ice is made of. Unlike todoroki or endeavors flames which are more precise and more beam like

Touya’s death also may have been the catalyst that set off Rei’s downward spiral until she scarred Shoto and was admitted to the mental hospital. Imagine how Rei felt, first her husband/abuser sends away her first born child to be trained because he can’t be asked to, Touya dies in supposedly a gruesome manner and Endeavor takes no responsibility, all the while he continues to abuse both Rei and Shoto whilst neglecting fuyumi and natsuo. Anyone would crack under that.
Actually Touya died/disappeared after Rei was sent to the mental hospital. But his "death" did cause her mental state to worsen to such an extent that no one could visit her.
Grand torino said "you shouldn't be here" before knocking him out when they where trying to rescue bakugo

That’s one way to hold off the mystery of Dabi’s identity even longer. Like, if the main cast got a hold of Hawks’ recording of this interaction, “who is Hawks’ old friend?” would become the newest clue.

I think when Endeavor saved little Hawks he had to decide between saving Hawks vs Dabi(Toya). To Toya Endeavor chose a bunch of "nobodies" over his own son. This, in Toya's mindset, could've been so Endeavor can boost his reputation as a hero. Endeavor sacrificed Toya (the individual person)for the group, including Hawks, and that is why he is blamed and feels guilt for Toya's death while also preserving his hero image. This could also explain Dabi's view of heroes, Hawks' surprise when Dabi spills the beans, and Endeavor's dislike of interviews.

Theory: Toya is jealous that Endeavor started training Shoto and neglecting him and chose to go into the program to get stronger so that Endeavor would recognize him as the stronger one. But his quirk gets too strong and burns him and he’s let go from the program and hates heroes and Endeavor as a result.
I think that's wrong because it was endeavor who put Toya in the program in the first place against his own will

How did Dabi know about his mom in the first place?! The records were expunged and even if they weren't, Dabi would have to get access to the govt. records somehow to find this out.

I kinda think it's mostly because dabi and hawks were friends and there must be something that happened between them....like dabi burning to crisp and hawks wanting to save him but the course's teachings would call for a more harsh approach wherein the heroes who don't make the cut are just because they are weak or something. That is maybe the reason that resulted in dabi's "death" That's why Dabi says that "A hero must always be ready to safe a life" I think it's more of a taunt to hawks because even though the course taught then to save lives, when Touya needed his friend the most he refused to (or was pressured to) not help him. It also makes sense if you consider the fact that Hawks was always a fan of Endeavour. Endeavour is a man who would do anything to become the best hero. And Hawks would do the same. (He's basically the Bakugou to Endeavour's All Might) I think that's why he was so shocked. Plus if you think about it...the finale episode of S4 had a high end nomu to which Dabi was talking to in the previous episode "I have high expectations from you High End" that's what he said. It's not just a coincidence that the very next episode the nomu fight Endeavour and Hawks.

Everything’s lining up for Dabi’s reveal. I just hope when he does actually reveal it, he does it in the best way possible.

It’s a very good theory! Though I’ll have to disagree on Dabi’s age of being 24 while her younger sister is only 23.
Shouldn’t Dabi be 27-28 years old? Quirks manifest at the latest at around 4 years of age. That being said, Endeavor would have to wait till one child would manifest their quirk and see if that child would fit his “perfect successor” image. If not, he would make another child with Rei, until he created Shoto.
Also, Touya’s height. He’s the eldest child yet why is he so short? Is his inherited constitution from his mom that extremely weak? Or did the animators mess that up and accidentally switched Natsuo and Touya’s character designs?

It makes sense, since due to how old Dabi is, this means he’s one of the oldest out of all his siblings. It may also be possible his mother’s constant rambling on “not taking it anymore” must have been another reason why Dabi left.
Todoroki has a burn from his father, Dabi may have gotten the same incident as a child but it was far worse as we could see.

Your theory definitely has merit, but I would like to point out that whatever happened to Toya, happened to him at a very young age. The only photo of him the Todoroki family has is when he is like 8 or 9 years old the most. I suggest that Endeavor was training Toya himself while Toya was also a part of this Government program, where Hawks was also being trained. But I don't think Toya was able to last too long on this program. This brings up my other questions, how did he survive? Who healed Toya? Who actually saved his life? Who helped Toya to become Dabi? I mean also, if Toya would have died as a pre-teen, I am pretty sure Hawks would be able to recognize him as an adult, that means Toya died as child (obviously Toya could recognize Hawks, because look at those red wings).
But how was a child able to fake their own death? I feel like the Government would kinda suspect who Dabi is, because if they trained him, they would still have records of his quirk. So I really don't know if they indeed trained as children together or not.
Yeah his age is a tricky thing. He’s (at minimum) EIGHT years older than Shoto because he’s older than Fuyumi, who herself is 7 years older than shoto. That means when shoto began his training at around 4, Toya was at least 11-12 (and still part of the family). So the fact we only see 1 pic of him at around age 9 doesn’t mean the horrific event happened to him before that age
@@TurtleQuirk I feel like whatever happened to Dabi/Toya will have a very public reveal, and it will of course damage Endeavor's reputation, but also the hero society as a whole. I cannot wait for the shitshow it will be. But I have a feeling the first person to recognize Toya as Dabi will be his mother Rei.

Imagine this: toya was being trained by endeavor and in goverment program. And tragedy happened. Toya body was weakened by an immense training and when he used his quirk, it just went out of control and burned himself. Goverment didn't wanted public to know about tragedy, cuz both goverment and endeavor reputation would've been at stake cuz of what cruel training they let children go trough. So, they faked death and reason why he died, cuz now he was in no condition to be trained. Endeavor would've been disapointed in toya, so just kicked him out of his house hold. And eveantually, he turned in who he's now.
Well, this is just my theory so don't take it searously.

This is actually a really really cool theory! We should get a spin off series about Hawk's backstory because he's a really interesting character honestly.
I think that dabi “died” when a villian attacked similar to when bakugou todoroki and deku save natsuo. I belive that endeavor saved hawks as a child rather than touya, and thats how hawks became a fan of endeavor and that maybe touya heard his name at that time
I think you forgot to mention something, so obviously dabi gave hawks his real name and such, this also implies that dabi intents to really kill hawks/not letting him get away cause of his identity would get known. I think dabi and hawks knew eachother as children but maybe dabi was another type of "project"?... 🤔

Random thought: What If the reason Touya’s hair color was changed so he wouldn’t look like dabi? Okay, in the manga red hair is depicted as black. @@fiat-vh4li his hair wasn't red...it was always white in the manga, they changed it to red in the anime, probably cause it balances the colour scheme of the todoroki siblings (fuyumi has red and white hair, so does shoto, natsuo has full white hair, so the animators thought giving natsuo red hair would balance things)...in the manga he has white hair, and before you ask, yes , things like these do happen in anime adaptations, a great example is giorno's colour scheme in jojo's part 5

Dude told you this theory would blow up! I like the part about Endeavor dodging responsibility for Touya, explains why Endeavor didn't train Touya, and since his name was struck from the records, the local government like police records (which heroes would reference) wouldn't know it either. Also love that Dabi's fragile body may have suffered a training accident in the harsh government hero school! This arc about to get dark... No loopholes from me this time :D
The fake "death" would explain the scars on his body, it's possible he was severely injured and the government said he died when he really didn't.
When we get a episode or chapter of Dabi's backstory it will be extremely amazing.

i feel like at first they were actually supposted to know eachother, mean him knowing it was just so lazy like how would he know where his mom was etc. it just feels like they decided to not make it canon last minute, man i would have loved it if it was canon, the drama and everything would be a lot more better
Updated theory:
Dabi was (rightfully) upset that Endeavor ignored and neglected him because of his illness so Dabi pushed himself to train harder in order to prove himself wrong. In the manga it’s shown that endeavor never paid attention to any of his kids apart from shoto so Dabi used this opportunity to secretly train in Hawks agency as a kid where he met Keigo. Since hawks is familiar with the todorokis he became friends with touya and they both trained together. After some time I think Dabi got more mad that after all the training and pain he went through in the agency only for endeavor to still neglect him he finally snapped and went to the mountains to do a “final” training where he accidentally went overboard and burned himself. Then he ran away to join the league because of his hero father that failed him by neglecting Dabi in favor of shoto to be the one to beat all might.
Also: in the manga there’s a scene where we see a picture of hawks in the todoroki home and it looks like the other side is blurred? I think after Touya “died” someone crossed him out of the pic to put his memory to rest.
Not to mention Dabi knew Hawks real name that NO ONE else knows except a few select people as hawks agency hid all information regarding hawks past… so how else did Dabi know that very confidential information? Exactly
