I have this for 3 years. Quadrupled my net worth and became jacked in the gym after years of wanting to do it but not having the motivation of doing it.. Tried to convince my friend but of course nobody listened. Videos like this will help the few of them who are thinking to do it to pull the trigger and change their life for the better.

No it's not sarcasm, I don't play with self development ever. I am dead serious. I have a Nokia 105 4th generation for 3 years now. It has no camera and i can only send sms and calls. I worek in a big bank in London and actually my clients are even happier because they can control their privacy much better. I am not joking at all. @@allwlwlwel

    It's so nice!
    I'm a Japanese writer.
    My name is mikan oshidari(忍足みかん)!
Due to my smartphone addiction, I switched to a dumb phone for my mental health. I'm publishing about it.
I'm interested in the fact that dumb phones are slowly gaining attention again.
I had a severe smartphone addiction. I even went to a psychiatrist!
It's convenient, but it's not good for your mental health.
    Damphones are comfortable.
People think it's a thing of the past and lame, but for me it's a cure-all for smartphone addiction! I think.
I want the popularity of dumb phones to come back even more!

I’m 38 years old so I can remember a time before smartphones taking over the world. I’ve been feeling a huge pull to get myself back to a time before screens and social media turned me into a drone. I just ordered a dumb phone that only does voice calls and basic texts so i’m looking forward to that. I also picked up the book that you recommended. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience.

I m 46, and massively addicted to my smartphone. Though I ve transferred my SIM card to an old Nokia phone from the early noughties that I still had lying around a couple of years ago, and have been using only this, whenever I m out and about, or even out of town for the entire weekend. Back in my flat it's still addiction galore though. Now I m planning a long trip to Asia, for ten months, and am considering bringing only my dumbphone. The only problem I foresee is online banking.

I really like this video! I have been using a flip phone (Nokia 2780) for a little over a month now, and I love it! I honestly do feel relieved, and so glad that I chose to make a difficult yet positive change in my life! Has it solved all my problems? No. Is it inconvenient? Yeah. However, I have noticed an overall difference in my enjoyment of life, and I believe it will help me mentally in the long run. I enjoy having a different device for different things, and the feeling of pushing physical buttons. If you're on the fence about this, you can do it! If you feel deep down that you would be better off without a smartphone, you're probably right ;)

Verrry into knowing what you do for music! I made the jump from my iphone to a Nokia 2780 flip August 5th and still going strong. In some ways it's cool to either not listen to music and relax naturally or listen to old school terrestrial radio, butttt it would be nice to be able to pick a specific song to listen to.

Hi Bella, very nice video. I started using the Nokia flip phone in March this year. Since then, I feel very light. I spend more time with books and my thoughts. I do journalling. I take the time to simply close my eyes and think. I also began to meditate more since then. I feel a sense of calm and relaxed. I do not choose to call my phone 'dumb'. I have gratitude towards it. It might be the best thing to have during some emergency situation.

    • @mSantsnj
      @mSantsnj ปีที่แล้ว

Same!! I’m taking it a little slower than jumping straight into a “dumb phone” to be honest.
I’m recently engaged and I felt the need to delete my IG app and FB app fb for the better of our relationship (fb messenger is still there for my family) and it’s been about 2 months now.
It’s crazy how much they try to make it hard to deactivate your accounts, here’s a story actually! I really wanted to see someone on my Instagram so I went to deactivate my account and look at an archived photo/video and I immediately went to deactivate it and they gave me a notification saying “CANNOT DEACTIVATE” like I had to wait another 7 days before I did it again.. like wtf, they really want you to be chronically online huh?
Anyway, so I have a 14 Pro Max, Apple Watch Ultra and MacBook Pro.. it’s too much notifications and too much crap. When I didn’t have all the latest and greatest I really thought I wanted all of the newest and best stuff but now that I have it it’s like, I wanna use it because I paid for it (obv) but it comes at a huge price and that’s usually at the LEAST your time and sometimes it’s your mental.
So, long story short, I’m replacing my Apple Watch Ultra with a Garmin Instinct 2 (solar powered, no need to charge). My iPad Pro, I may get rid of or give to my fiancé because she’s a stay at home kinda gal and I’ll keep my MacBook Pro of course. I can game on there when I’m home and not whip out my iPad and controller like I usually do when we have downtime at work. (Now I do stuff like read or listen to a book or podcast)
Last but not least, what phone did I choose? Well, a BlackBerry Key2! The battery life is great, the keyboard makes messaging feel more intentional and somewhat just enough cumbersome that I can’t fire away a text one handed while I’m preoccupied and it just feels more valuable, less emoji’s and stuff. Best part? The temptation to use a lot of apps is a non factor because the Blackberry doesn’t support a lot of apps because it runs an old old old version of Android (they made android phones before they completely left the smartphone market) so yeah :)
I’m not sure if I’ll ever completely get down to a “dumb phone” but to each their own thing, I do need a camera for work unfortunately. I’m even aware of some jobs that if they “require” you to have certain apps and stuff they may even have to provide a phone or cover a portion of your bill. So, if they even tell me my phone doesn’t suffice then I’ll kindly tell them to provide me something that’s up to par perhaps (I’ll keep you updated with that lol)
Great video btw, been watching all the dumb phone vids I can to hear some testimonials.
      Subbed 👍🏽

Love my dumb phone Nokia 800 though, bought for 3 months ago. Agree in so much of what you said, and I have used smart phones since they came on the market. Smartphones are making us "dumber" and trigger some ADHD behavior in all of us with the addictive algorithms that exist online. There is no escaping that for 99,9% of us. The nokia 800 can do a lot of what smartphones can do, but it is more troubled to do it with a small and poorly screen. But it is possible to play music, use it as wifi source, check the weatherforcast, navigate with google maps go online and check things online if you really need it. I think many young kids that er born with smartphones dont know what focus (beside the screens) really is because of gaming and smartphones.
But there is one problem. I live in Norway and we have come so far in the digital systems that I have to use verify with smartphones apps that "I am really me" in multiple two steps verifications with banks, shopping online with the computer and work related stuff. Even parking the car sometimes requires smartphone apps, other payments are not possible. So I dont think it is possible in long run to just have one dumb phone. You must have a smartphone also, maybe an good enough older model that can run newer apps.

It's a great idea. Unfortunately, in the country where I live, it is relatively disadvantageous, as it is necessary to have a mobile application, e.g. to your health insurance company, which can reimburse 50% of the price of examination/procedure, etc. (this is not possible without the application).
Also in schools we have something like an electronic student book where teachers write homework for our children, their grades, events, etc. (also impossible without a smartphone).
    And many other cases....

I mean cost wise, you can literally just buy a used nokia from way back when for like, 5 dollars, from any private seller. It will work just fine. The battery on my 25 year old nokia lasts around 5-8 days. That seems good enough. If you ask around in your friend group, i m sure lots of people just have one in their basement somewhere that they can just give you.

stop searching for a f*ing dumbphone. Use a smartphone (and get the benefits of new technology such as a decent camera, a decent speaker a decent screen size, ability to setup 2fa and banking security) in a dumb way. Uninstall all the shit that's not ABSOLUTELY necessary. Messaging apps too if they're too overwhelming to you. Stop searching for something that you already have. It's like searching for a pot to cook pasta in for 1 person when you already have the 2 person one, just use the bigger one and put less water on it. You'll have plenty more than needed (but at least useful whenever you need to do something more complex). I get that all the tech companies (including utube lol) force their way into our brains, but for the love of god, once you realize that your behavior is overwhelming yourself, stop searching for outside validation. Just work with what you have. A capable phone can do less, an incapable phone can just do basic stuff. try setting up banking on your nokia 3310 and you won't be amazed.

This phone runs on Kai OS , a stripped down version of Firefox OS. At the core of this OS is Firefox Browser and the apps run on top of it. Nokia and Alcatel make the best Kai OS phones and cheaper than this one.
