What I do for maps, music, photos and podcasts using a dumbphone
Maps, music and photos were the things I was most nervous about losing when switching to a dumbphone. This is how I work around that - it's not perfect but it's not a bad compromise

Day in the life of a rural medical student
มุมมอง 1.4Kปีที่แล้ว
Hello everyone! This is a random day in my life on my last ever medical placement. I'm doing it in a rural area and absolutely love the diversity of what I get to do each day.
Bike dog | Why I love my bike trailer and how I trained my dog to use it!!
มุมมอง 1.4Kปีที่แล้ว
Dog, bike, trailer - the start of a great adventure! This is how I trained my dog Scout to ride in a trailer behind my mountain bike. It means that we can hit the trails together more often and go longer distances! see you out there :)

4 Reasons Why I Love My Dumb Phone
มุมมอง 35Kปีที่แล้ว
Hi friends! I love my dumb phone, these are the 4 reasons why
Welcome to everybody’s life pre 2007
Does the phone support mp4 files?
And as for social media - it’s a complete waste of time. What are we trying to prove?
This is great, but maybe don’t be so strict… use a smartphone for like 50% of the day, and the other 50% turn it off. Apps like Google maps are amazing, and incredibly helpful.
Is that a Singer sewing machine in the background?
You are one the few genZ who could of survived the 90s (maybe not the 80s). Congratulations, we can play pogs together.
I can not find a phone dumb enough.
Update ?
It has too much tech are there any real dumbfones out there?
I have iPhone I don't want to be on facebook all the time nor the other places I look sometimes because I don't want to think about what everyone else is doing I don't care how they live their lives it's up to them not up to me don't use navigation everywhere I go only if I know if I have to be there at a certain time otherwise I've lost track of time otherwise I manage fine even if I have a smartphone don't care about other people what they should or shouldn't you only have to manage one life, namely your own life, so it's not difficult either😊
5:23 Such a fine chicken they don’t make them like this in Murica.
Go drink ginger juice 😂
Hi! Planning to buy a dunb phone soon, living in Australia. The only features that im after are Whatsapp and Maps. You mentioned WhatsApp but what about Maps? Thanks in advance!
And not a big problem if you lose it or get stolen.
Hermosa ❤
Great video, am a retired healthcare provider. The farm experience must be wonderful. Good luck in your career 🖖
I agree with the iPad comment. It is really different from the phone. It's not always in your pocket. You have to put some effort in to scroll endlessly. I've just got myself a Nokia 2660 Flip and I love it. That combined with an old GoPro and a notebook and I've got most things I need. I still have the iPhone for when I need maps or my toddler wants to listen to music in the car. We've just started deciding in the morning what we want to listen to each day and then downloading it.
Map books are still for sale.
Mapquest
Thanks for sharing the experiences :)🙏
The about 3 years ago my smart phone started to die and i was just going to get a dumb phone but the week i was going to get it my partner one a smart phone in an arcade game and i used that for 3 years and it started playing up again and ended up buying the aspera r40 (the phone in the video) and im so glad i did vut i wish i got it 3 years ago
Fifth reasons, its make you a smarter person !
Thanks for sharing your experience! It’s the first time I see you. You are very pretty and your lovely smile makes me think you’re a good person 😊
Just get a digital camera and a street directory like many other people!
I just deleted all the apps that would distract me tbh

General question to the comment section; What would be the biggest reason for you personally to buy or be interested in a dumb phone, if there would be nothing holding you back? And if there are things holding you back from buying one, what are these things? I ask this for my own research on some stuff in regards to dumb phones.. Thanks in advance for your answer ;)
Biggest reason would be procrastination. Biggest holdback would be directions (for work I find my self having to look up directions a lot)
What an awesome video. Thanks for making it. I don't have a dumb phone because sadly I need Whatsapp for school and work, but I uninstalled literally everything I could from my smartphone and disabled all notifications except calls. I'm loving it so far. I only check WhatsApp a few times a day like an email. Feels like I'm in control again. For music I bought an mp3 player and only play music I've downloaded there. Im glad I watched videos like this one on TH-cam to motivate me to do that. Feels so much better
ive been using a dumbphone for six months straight and get along quite well. my nokia 3310 has a built in mp3 player tho the sound is not really good. i buy mp3s online so the music i have is actually mine. i consider buying an mp3 player but havnt decided yet. my car has a navi system so no problems there. i bring my wallet along every time i leave. i do all my stuff after work on my ipad (wifi only) like whatsapp, email, selling/buying stuff and so on. switching to a dumbphone was the best decision in recent years. it gives me peace not having the worlds knowledge and news in my pockets. it slows down my daily routine which is a good thing. i can do all things what smartphone users do can - when i come home and not in between working, having a break and having conversations with colleagues
What's wrong with your voice‽‽‽‽!!!!!??????!?!?!?!?!?!?
The irony that im on.my smart phone researching how to cut ✂️ my smart phone
It’s very awkward to see how many of you young people struggle and searching for options to live………………….like we did.
I just love your videos 🌸👶🏽
Not a dumb phone. Just a limited smart phone. At an outrageous price of course
this channel is so sick , i dont even know how did i endup here but i absolutely love it!
Hey, thanks so much for this review! So helpful for someone looking to get a dumb phone. I do have a question... Can you delete Facebook off it? Thanks Anna
Please use. App not buy a scam
hi there.. just a random person .. i just want to let you know that you have a beautiful smile.😃
As a college student, I recently switched to an mp3 player for my study music. I struggle with decision making, especially when it comes to what music I’m going to listen to for the next 3 hours, so the limited capacity of an mp3 player saves me the choice, as there’s only so many songs to choose from. Furthermore, you can’t get notifications on a mp3 player, which saves me struggling with “do not disturb” (which can never seem to quiet all my pop-ups).
Can I use this phone in America? I am sold and want to purchase one.
I'm planning on getting a flipphone that'll only give me whatsapp, also a compact camera and ipod for music... I have my laptop for learning, youtube and pinterest if needed, but only at home. I am SO done with this phone and social media, there's a whole world out there and I'm missing it
Uber and some qr paying apps for the bus and banking apps are what's keeping me away from my dream dumbphone :(
I mean cost wise, you can literally just buy a used nokia from way back when for like, 5 dollars, from any private seller. It will work just fine. The battery on my 25 year old nokia lasts around 5-8 days. That seems good enough. If you ask around in your friend group, i m sure lots of people just have one in their basement somewhere that they can just give you.
You are simply delightful.
For photos you can get a compact camera like a ricoh gr 3, sony zv-1 or a small action cam like the dji osmo pocket 3.
I turn 18 in four months. Today, I asked my grandparents if I could have a flip phone (I've been thinking about this for awhile, not a spur of the moment thing) They said yes. We went and bought the only flip phone compatible with our service. I'm loving it so far. I feel like I've had so much more time in my day. I can listen to my favorite podcast using an app I downloaded, but I can't download social media. Although I do have my desktop, I don't find myself mindlessly scrolling on my laptop. Everyone keeps asking why, and my response is "Why not" I don't want to spend my whole life looking at memes I'll never remember.
Congrats, great decision! Which phone did you end up getting?
@@natalyarciniegaspalacio7621 I ended up getting the iris flip (It was the only one compatible with my cell phone plan)
You did this at 18?? Gives me hope lol. I'm trying to fix the addiction in my twenties now. I never even liked social media or devices, yet the addiction was acquired and maintained nonetheless. I really enjoy the days now that I use my phone less, even if I'm using other devices. Feels like I own my brain again. So kudos to you! That's awesome.
shame on you!
I don't do that like I have a smartphone it say something about you as a person you're not strong enough resist temptation to go on social media that’s why you have a dumb phone as you call it now but it’s just a phone that phone is not dumb. It’s just phone.
buying buss and train tickets is a bit of a challenge. Also messenger and whatsapp. these are probably the main issues. but messenger and whatsapp I would rather check less, but people need to get a hold of me for my different groups.
what’s helped me so far is removing any app I don’t use regularly from the home screen so I have to search for it. removing search suggestions helps too so apps like youtube aren’t front and center when I do use the search bar to find apps in my library. obvi turning off unimportant notifications helps as well. basically make it harder to infinite scroll so you can acknowledge what you’re doing and avoid the behavior.
searching dumbphones brought me here. keep making them. you got something going on. Aloha. 😊
Smartphones are not the issue. Our issue is our lack of self discipline. Let's work on that. There will always be distractions; it's how we choose to react which is important.
