When using Razer, it's important to remember that the majority of the cost comes from the brand name... Although it may have quality, one does not get as much for their money as with other brands.
"People want a macbook on the windows side, let's be real". Yep. That's why I got the Razer Blade 14. It feels like a Macbook with windows and a 3070 inside of it. It's insane.
In terms of shit like slippers and these cringe ass finger things or whatever they are called, they do indeed have that retarded apple vibe, but when it comes to real shit like keyboards, mice and headphones, there is truly no competitor. I have had a deathadder elite since the day of its release, not once did i have a bug with it or something. That is 5 years of high quality gaming with 0 signs of wearing down. I also had a blackwidow v2, but moved onto tkl because i dont have much desk space. Also they are consistently putting out some of the best laptops in their respective price range with great specs and solid looks. I love razer but i also cringe hard when i see dumbass products from them.
I've always found good deals on their stuff.. comparing them to apple seems a little harsh. The company that makes you buy their charger and their headphone jack adapter for their overpriced phone without a back button. I hate apple 😑
@@jovanjovanovic711 their headphones is completely piece of shit, can’t even complete with the ancient Sennheiser game one let alone the new king of gaming headphones with a mic pc38x.
i disagree. corsair is the apple of gaming, i believe that razer is more like the samsung, still good quality like apple, more stupid gimmicks, and still expensive like apple.
I've had several Razer mice and from experience, they're really good products, currently rocking the Orochi v2 and I love it. I wouldn't recommend buying Razer products on launch though, the price can sometimes just be ridiculous. Always wait for a sale as most of the time as their products age, a sale is bound to happen in different retailers.
It depends on which product you buy from them. I worked in warranties back in 2010-2016 and the Deathadder and Blackwidow range were pretty solid, but most of their other stuff had pretty high failure rates. Their QC was also pretty shit and from what I hear, that hasn't changed much.
@@Pado01 Hmmm, I had a copperhead and spoiled within a month after 1 year of daily use (left mouse click problem, double clicking when I click once), gave Razer another shot and bought Deathadder 2013 version. After about 10-11 months of daily use, same problem with the left mouse key, while it was still within the 1 year warranty, I was in a different country and there was no way I'm going to pay for a plane ticket and fly 8+ hours to get it fixed (besides warranty was only about 1 month left and I was quite busy then). Now I'm not so sure about their products even though I'm still a fan of their innovation. Optical Switches should be more durable but.......
Well, if you look at it from a design aspect, there isn't much they can do about it. Lets say, when you are Razer, and you shove a 11th gen i9 and a rtx 3080 in a f*cking laptop, less than an inch thick and under 5 lbs in weight, made of a single piece of Alu, ofc you are going to have cooling issues! Even with their massive vapor chambers, cooling even the lighter tier models is a PITA. and LiPo and LiIon batts don't like getting hot, especially for long, and having an alu case, means all the heat that isn't being cooled properly is getting dispersed in the case, and to the battery. So with their current design challenges, well its a hard issue to solve, without getting rid of essential aspects of the brand. Correct me if I am wrong though.
@@davidtheawesomeone5358 Having a 3080 doesn't mean much. The 3080 and 3070 both run at 100W. That's what's important, they should out put very similar levels of heat. My point is that these are known for battery swelling. I get batteries swell but I haven't seen it at a rate like this. And for these devices to carry a premium and require a new battery after a year is unacceptable.
@@mjbakedbeans all i mean is that with creating that much heat, and the aluminum chassis transferring that waste heat to the battery speeds up swelling. And it dosent always go bad. One major reason for them to die so quick is most razer gamers, well don't travel for shit, and leave their laptops plugged in 24/7. When you rarely cycle your battery like that and the heat that's put into the battery, well it wears it out quite quickly. My blade from 2016is still going with its original batt just fine, and if I am doing light loads I can even get it to 6 hours. Same with my 2017 blade stealth, original battery and no swelling and great battery life still. Its not always the case, and sometimes it does swell even with proper care, but again, Razer can only do so much.
@@davidtheawesomeone5358 You're fortunate to have laptops that last long. It just seems weird that razer sells a significantly smaller volume compared to other manufacturers and yet we don't hear about battery issues with other manufacturers laptops.
@@mjbakedbeans well other manufactures don't have the design constraints that razer does, and along with those design constraints the user base. If people cycled their batteries a LOT more, and razer kept the temps down it would help a lot. Even just cycling the battery more would greatly improve batt life.
I recently used the Black friday sales to upgrade some of my gear. I already had a Razer Blackwidow from last year's sale which (I feel) is amazing, and was a definite upgrade from the mem-chanical piece of junk I had before. Someone who's built their own keyboard to perfection and knows every in and out of it will probably throw up trying to type on it. But for me, it's been nothing but amazing. And after upgrading my mouse as well, mostly because I already had the keyboard and was tired of having 25 different manufaturers' software installed, I've been nothing but happy with the experience. It is in a sense like apple in that way, in that you buy into the brand, and into the 'ecosystem', at least for the whole chroma-shabang. To use the words of our soon-to-be-overlord God Howard; ''It just works'', and that's what the majority of the consumer market wants it to do.
I had my deathadder and blackwidow elite for YEARS before upgrading to a huntsman mini and a basilisk v3. They're solid products and definitely recommendable. Expensive, but well-done.
Older Razer products were far better imo, had a new hunstman tkl and some of the switches went out within a few months and their customer service refused to fix it (within warranty) or send me a replacement. The premiums they demand are ridiculous for the company infrastructure they provide.
I’m a student and I have a blade 14 with an rtx 3060. It’s absolutely amazing for what I need, rarely unreliable, but a restart usually fixes most issues, and I get a whopping 12-14 hours of battery life on things like chrome or coding. A pleased customer if you will, all my peripherals are now razed too, except an asus monitor which I use as a second display
@@estiennetaylor1260 exactly, I’m taking it over the MacBooks any day the only reason I can see people taking the macs over them are for specific workloads or macOS. The only other thing macs have over it is battery life, and I’m not sacrificing all that power an extra 2-4 hours of battery life
I’ve had two Razer products ever. One was a mouse that I had to replace after six months. The other is a keyboard I’ve had for about four years or so. Very happy with the keyboard. The mouse.. not so much.
Razer product is basically a coinflip. You are either lucky with a product lasting for years getting a defective unit which last for a few month. I guess I am more lucky with the coinflipping.
@@adrianchase9399 yeah it's very funny. One of my friends has a Razer headset and the audio quality (at least for me) is absolute fire garbage. However, I have had a Razer keyboard for 5 years now and it has not failed me once. I can probably finish college and it will still work like a charm. Why do they do such random quality goes beyond me lmao.
From the experience of friends and one mouse i bought some time ago, you get rng with the longevity of a razer product, they either last for a few weeks or a few years.
Razer also has quite nice customer service imo, they replaced my whole motherboard from warranty and they even somehow handled all the shipping costs and so on. All I had to do was contact them and within a week and a half I had my blade 15 back with new internals.
From my experience with razer products I must say they are good, expensive but worth the money, get them at a sale if you can. I use the Basilisk x hyperspeed mouse and the huntsman elite keyboard, purchased on sale, of course and I am very pleased with the ergonomics, build quality, performance, the battery life on the mouse is 3 months on 2.4 ghz mode with medium to heavy gaming sesions daily, and the keyboard has nice tactile feedback, good volume & multimedia buttons, removable wrist rest and nice lighting, it feels very solid and well made. The only other razer product I had was the kynossa mouse & membrane keyboard bundle which was cheap but felt just like any other product at that price point, only with a razer logo on it, nothing special. I do like how their laptops look, heards bad things about kraken headphones and I'm not interested in the whacky products like rgb masks, straw and finger grips, just stick to their proven gaming peripherials and you'd be good. Not sure on the headphones tho' like I said, I use the HyperX Cloud 2 Pro and I am absolutely in love with everything about them.
What bad things did you hear about the Krakens? I have had a pair (I think the v2s) and the microphone sounds really good and they are comfortable, sound quality is good as well. I hope to upgrade to the V3 Pro when they become available. The Nari Ultimate wasn't good tho, mic was bad, and they were a bit loose
@@outrunner3399 I use Razer headphones and they are really good. From what I've heard, the BlackShark v2 lineup is a replacement for the HyperX's Cloud series.
I've got a Razer Kraken x Lite (old model) and it works great. The Mic is really clear and the headset itself does really well with drowning out background noise. Where did you hear bad things about their headsets?
As someone with the sealth 13, it’s well worth the price, as I’m proud to have it out in public all the while knowing I can dock it and play games when I get home. Great combination of Mac and gaming ultrabook.
I have the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15, and it is a great gaming Macbook. I would use ASUS over Razer because they are reliable (ASUS actually honors warranties unlike Razer)
@@andrew7576 yeah and they aren’t wildly overpriced. My girlfriend has an rog laptop with a 3060 in it and it was $1400, you couldn’t get that performance for even close to the money from razer.
@@andrew7576 I just looked and the only comparable blade to the laptop she has is $2500 and has an older and worse cpu and a worse display. 1000 more dollars for a worse computer. Wow, really worth it
@@tradeka4206 can you tell me the specs of that 2500$ razer laptop? cuz I have a 1000$ TUF and I whould like to compare them.Mine is gtx 1650, i7 10th gen, 1TB SSD, 60 hrtz monitor
I think the thing is, that when it comes to peripherals, Razer is really hard to beat unless you are into customs or enthusiast stuff. I for one, love watching people build custom keyboards and review the enthusiast products. But I both don't have the money nor the time to invest in all that. So I have a "Razer setup" (headphones, keyboard, mouse). And I'm completely content with it.
Corsairs mice, keyboards are by far better than razer's in terms of longevity and reliability - software for RGB is years ahead of what razer offers. I have a razer blade laptop, the laptop is decent but their peripherals are lacking
@@marcdxn87 I've never had a problem with quality control on any Razer product I've owned. And I just don't use the software because any software I have to install like that is useless bloat. So to each their own. I don't like the design of Corsair's products personally. Especially their mice and their keycaps (with their hideous font).
A long as you like the brand. My experience with Razer has been pretty hit or miss, but I still end up coming back to them for aesthetic or convenience. for example, I main the Razer Turret as my mouse and keyboard for PC and Xbox gaming. There are no other wireless mouse and keyboard combos like this one on the market right now.
Same, my experience has been hit and miss. Love the Razer Kishi, the Razer Opus X headphones, didn't really like the Kaira or Kaira Pro headphones, they both would disconnect from my Xbox (have had no issues with the official Xbox headset)
I built my desktop myself but everything surrounding it is razer. Something is so satisfying about opening a razer box, and using a razer product then other companies. It'd be crazy to see what they could do if they had the money apple does
As someone who had 2 razer phones, i was so disappointed when they didn't release a 3rd edition. the square shape, smaller footprint and the screen was amazing ( esp for the time). if my dog hadn't chewed the speaker grills id still be using it, but id still be waiting for that android 10 update lol.
I've had like 5 razer products in a different periods of time from 2012 to 2021, every device had some sort of defect and died after 2 months max. Since then, I've left Razer and never coming back unless their products will go up in quality control.
My favorite color combination is black and green and I love to be able to connect all my rgb into one program, so I choose razer. I have a razer mouse pad, speakers, keyboard, mouse, headset, headset stand and wireless charger all synced in chroma. It makes my setup feel like a unit instead of just scattered parts.
The thing about razer from what I feel (my opinion/ guess) is that it’s not very big now but in 10-20 years time they’re going to expand so, so much that they’re going to go last Logitech, and you’ll be able to buy separate components from razer when building a pc. (Not just cpu coolers, psu’s and cases) in 10 years time the gaming industry is going to sky rocket, and as long as razer keep up with the demand, and kinda go with what the gamers want, they will sky rocket too. But at the moment they’re an amazing brand that aren’t pushing themselves far enough. Take this for example: their mice (mouse mice same thing) they’re amazing mice but compared to Logitech they might have some advantages over them but they haven’t got a grasp over them. There isn’t 10 different reasons that you can name, that makes them stand out. They focus on small details too much, or un necessary things such as dpi being 20,000 dpi. Nobody needs 20,000 dpi, but Logitech have it so they make it happen, they are too busy trying to compete with Logitech to focus on the future right now. They need to forget about Logitech and try to make something new, something that will shock people, something that is so out there, but in the best possible way, that razer will sky rocket. For example instead of making something that has already been done, eg the phone thing that turns the phone into a mini switch, make a thing that’s completely new. The reason razer isn’t becoming as big I guess you could say “the face of gaming” is because they haven’t yet made something stand out compared to all the other gaming brands. They haven’t made a monitor that reaches 550 hz refresh rate gaming monitor, they haven’t made their own cpu, gpu, ram, and all the other things needed to make a custom pc. But give it time I think they will. Eventually
I bought several Razer products through the years and I was always very satisfied with what I got. Good build quality, you feel like you're getting little more than just buying normal mouse or let's say laptop. I don't think it's for everyone, but for someone who appreciates those things, Razer is an easy recomendation.
Big fan of razer products here and I can tell why. I dont mind Logitech, Corsair, etc each of them is unique in its own way. But there is one advantage that Razer has over all the companies out there, RGB. You may hate it or love it. I love it, it has the best rgb lighting and the best software and the best connectivity of all the brands out there. All the brands try to connect with Razer Chroma because is that good. If you dont care so much about syncing you rgb lights, there are more brands that can be a lot better.
I get why people dislike razer, but I have been using the og hunstman tkl for around 3 years now and I have had no issues. My razer basilisk did break, but that was my dog's fault. I still like my razer products because I have not had any issues with them.
ive had a razer blade basic model for 2-3 years now and ive got to say, coming from a hp zbook and a gigabyte aero, i could not think of a moment missing them now that i have the blade, the charging port still feels like new, the screen doesnt bug or get worse, keyboard and big and good mousepad is so important and it is compact and cool enough for heavy cad work
Just want to say that I love my Early 2020 Razer Blade 15(Base model i7-10750H & RTX 2060) Laptop, and my Razer Huntsman and Huntsman Elite Keyboards. I think they are really awesome and I have gotten a helluva lot of enjoyment using them!
I have a Razer Blade Steatlh (2016) that has served very well for years. I used it as an eGPU desktop, portable editor, and notebook throughout and only had to replace the battery on it. I even dropped it on the sidewalk, and it still cooks. Most durable windows laptop I've come across.
Fun fact. The Mercedes emblem is actually a propeller from an airplane. Anyway, I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with all my razer products from laptops to mouse pads. I love my Razer blade 15 with the 3070. Now their synapse software was hot garbage in the beginning but it’s getting better. The software is my biggest complaint outside the pricing. They could always be cheaper but they are a Brand more than anything so you’re gonna pay for that brand.
I’ve had razer products on and off and I can confidently say that past razer products were decent enough to validate the price not only for the “razer” brand name. In 2020-2021 I purchased their Basilisk Wireless, then their basilisk ultimate, and finally the orochi v2 and they’ve all had some pretty noticeable quality control issues. The 2 basilisk mice ran into double clicking issues and rattle within 3 months. Razer used to be decent, nowadays it’s just a name, with cheap parts and a premium price. I wouldn’t buy Razer even if it was on sale. Thankfully other brands have began growing their lineups!
yeah, tbh, razer products have started "devolving", i mean, my razer viper started breaking really fast, and the keyboard is fine, just, overpriced. like, who would pay 200 dollars for a keyboard when msi or redragon or even corsair will get you a good keyboard with nice switches for just under 50 bucks
@@MillerTM They aren't. It took Razer a minute to put optical switches on all their mice and this guy likely got the ones with the Omron 40 million switches that have been known to cause double clicking with Logitech as well.
I think the best description is a mac book on the windows side. I want to get one bc of the quality and sleek design. It feels and looks better to be carrying around
i had the 2020 Razer Blade for when i was in my military training and lived in dorms but still wanted to play with my buddies back home at night and i loved it, never had a single issue with it (no performance, screen issues, over heating etc) it gamed awesome on new triple A games on high settings - felt and looked amazing. it's not one of the laptops that you're almost embarrassed to take out like others on the market cause of how over the top "gamer" it is with the aesthetic, logo'ing/lighting, weird shaped bodies. i say that cause i'm a minimalistic guy when it comes to appearance - It's clean and simple and has the quality feel close to a Macbook Pro (also owned one of those) - suppose that's for anyone looking for a good gaming laptop but want more of the feel of a Macbook laptop (also comes with that Macbook price tag so that is a downfall, you're paying for the build quality and look of it for sure)
I like razer, but I don't dig the black/green, though the white and grey editions of the laptops are sexy AF. Otherwise, yes Razer laptops and peripherals are worth it. The company is still kind of new, maybe in the far future they will afford to hire engineers to design chips and buy a spot in TSMCs factory, and maybe a team to work on a Razer/user friendly distro of Linux.
I got the Razer Book 13, it is an amazing ultra book. I already have a beefy desktop for gaming and 3D modeling at home, so I didn't want a gaming laptop. The book 13 is built really really well, it has solid port selection, the screen looks amazing, and the battery life lasts all day. The keyboard is great, but I really wish that the trackpad was haptic. But otherwise, it is a solid machine. 8/10 for me.
I just got a Razer Blade 14 2022 model. It should be coming very soon. I think Razer gets too much shit. I've owned multiple products from them and they're good quality. My mouse has lasted years, same with my headset.
For years Apple laptops had terrible, unreliable keyboards, suffered from overheating and performance issues relative to Windows competition, and weren't leading on things like display tech. Yet MacBooks were still bought aplenty, and Razer reminds me of this. The current MacBook Pros obviously changed all that, and I feel like if Razer can workout their QC and continue to improve things like support and software they will probably find even more success in the mainstream.
I own 4 razer mice, a Blade Stealth 13, a Blade 17, and a razer PC case for my main system, razer nomo chroma, Nari ultimate, with Chroma stand. They are all great quality. The laptops are brilliant, I have liquid metaled the CPu in the 17 and the fans are prettty silent, the speakers are great. The stealth is pretty silent when gaming , the speakers are ok for gaming but bad for media when you put them next to a Mac book.
I had my PSU die on my 3090 rig, so I got a Blade 17 with a 11th gen i7/3070(130w) to use while waiting for upgrades and the new PSU to come in; and it kind of surprised me. The noise, cooling, performance (within reason, mind you!)-- much better than the alienware and the MSI I tried out. It was just under 2600 US, and as a temp desktop replacement for streaming FFXIV? I honestly have no real complaints other than abysmal battery life-- but you don't buy a machine like this for that lmao. Backlight bleed on the 1440p screen is kind of bad, but that's just IPS display lottery for you. Yeah, if you can justify the Razer price hike (the MSI similarly spec'd was ~$500 cheaper, but less sturdy feeling & much louder) its worth it. If not, there are plenty of good options. ^^
My laptop is smiliar but I can actually have around 9 hours of battery life since it uses Amd for the gpu (164w) and cpu (95w) although I paid around 2300 with a 4 year geek squad thing. It also goes head to head with a 3080 laptop.
I wanted something of apple caliper for windows, that's why I bought a Blade Stealth in high school. I was the only one with it and it was kind of a flex.
I have a Razer Tartarus V2, I like its layout compared to other gaming keypads, but my experience with their ecosystem has made me swear off all their other products. There's no reason Razer Central can't store profiles locally, yet I _have_ to be signed in and online for that feature to work, and for all the updates it doesn't reliably recognize which program is in focus.
Razer laptops = high quality with some minor flaws (2020 Razer Blade 15 Basic RTX 2060 16gb ram Intel i7-10750h). As many of the comments have said and Austin, the CNC chassis is great, but still has some flaws. The thermals are good when brand new, but the fans have to be cleaned every year or sooner due to dust and with it being such a small frame. Some fasteners to hold the lid down use plastic instead threading into the metal frame, so the brass inserts break and the plastic holding it down are do good. On the topic of the fan, they put warranty stickers on it and that should be a user serviceable part that shouldn't be warranty voided since you need to clean the fans from dust build up and the heat exchangers need to be brushed. But overall, these are minor and still would buy one again, so far.
You have the same laptop model that I have, and I love ❤️ it! Yes, the fans need some annual or semi-annual cleaning. I usually have my Razer Blade 15 running at home on a table. On the table, I run a desktop fan that I put to the left of the laptop and point it to blow across the laptop to the right. Since the chassis is metal(aluminum), it’s like a laptop heatsink. Having a fan blow air across it really whisks away some of that heat, and the fans don’t spin nearly as much.
Really? One of the most popular gaming mice out there is the Razer Viper / Viper Mini. What mouse did you use? I guess the only Razer peripherals I use are the Seiren X mic and Blackshark Headphones which are pretty good. But one of my friends had the Kraken headphones and they broke down in a couple of months. So I guess you have to be picky with which models..?
Well My Kraken headset is conected all is fine the first minutes and all out of sudden it disconnectes when the USB is still pluged in. All drivers updated, already tried to uninstall everything and download again and same problem. Only lasted 5 months
I'd say it depends on the product. I've been using their mice (Viper, Deathadder) and a Blackwidow or Huntsman for a long time and liked them a lot (although I've moved on to other products) I can still recommend them to someone. However I think most of their headsets are hideous (besides the new Blackshark) and would not touch something like their Raptor display. It just varies on the product line in my opinion.
I bought a Razer laptop to do my college homework at the farm where I work. It's been dropped and abused, it's one of the dustiest environments out there and this laptop is still going strong. Granted I do clean it periodically, and I do keep it in a bag when not in use. It has been the best and most reliable laptops I have ever owned, and that includes Asus G73 models, MacBook pro's and MacBook airs. (Really hope I didn't jinx my self...)
Note to 5:20. Mercedes, as well as any other OEM does actually not develop or build large parts of its cars, even in the luxury segment. They have incredibly large networks of large (Bosch, Magna) and smaller suppliers doing most of the work.
A lot of car manufacturers source a lot of their products elsewhere. BMW for instance uses Valeo for starters, Continental for air intake sensors, transmissions from ZF transmissions, etc
Back in like 2012, I really liked Razer. Over time, I've slowly convinced myself that Razer products are junk... Don't get me wrong. For most people, their products are great. But if you spend enough time researching products, there is more for your money out there already. I like the Razer laptops but besides those, I will probably never own anything Razer in my life unless something drastically changes.
Honestly, ASUS Zephyrus G15 is the gaming macbook. I recommend ASUS over Razer because ASUS has excellent quality (ASUS actually honors warranties unlike Razer). I would NEVER recommend Razer.
I bought the razer blade 17 computer brand new back in 2022 and after a little over a year and a half of using it and keeping it clean, the computer over heated and now doesn't run the same, so now razer wants me to pay them to fix it ($2585 usd) like I haven't paid them enough already, they clearly sold me a computer that was not built to last, PLEASE DO NOT BUY RAZER!
I've always felt like Razer is the gaming oriented version of Apple, nice sleek designs, a bit overpriced mostly because of build quality and the brand but over all pretty good performance for gamers. Growing up I always thought Razer products were super cool, mainly their laptops. Well now that I'm older I bought my first laptop from them last year, and after dreaming about having a Razer Blade, it was so amazing finally feeling that nice aluminum body with good gaming performance. As far as buying into the brand, you're completely right, because after my laptop I bought a Razer mouse and headset to complete the set and now I really am a big razer fan. I do feel like they can reach that brand level of Apple or Mercedes because they have been growing for years now and getting closer every year. However, I don't know about the toasters and all that, maybe just stick to gaming, Razer. lol
Honestly, ASUS Zephyrus G15 is the gaming macbook. I recommend ASUS over Razer because ASUS has excellent build quality with good speakers and large trackpad (also, ASUS actually honors warranties unlike Razer).
The Razer Nommo Pro is the most expensive Razer product I own. They cost 600 bucks and they sound very nice! It's great playing games, watching movies and listening to music with it!
I think that Razer has definitely lost their way trying to become a lifestyle brand that you can basically find anything you want from. Would be great if they got rid of all the BS and just sold gaming peripherals and, now, computer components again
I hackintoshed my Razer Blade 15 and run Monterey on it and when I game I switch over to windows to play my games. I couldn' t be happier, the only downfall is it slightly gets hot and my battery life is bad but I can live with those flaws considering what I get.
I love razer, and I have pretty much all the peripherals besides the monitor and speakers. But I really love the brand, I love the ecosystem that integrates really well. I always said Razer is the Apple of gamers, more or less and they have been working on that for years. Maybe not all the products are good or worth it, But I could say the same about Apple and their prices for some things they offer.
I've been using razer stuff for a long time now and never run into issues. I've had the razer blade 15 advanced (mid 2019) and it's still working like new
@@khoadinh4120 only hardware issue I had was that the lid warped a bit. Not really sure how, but the screen is perfectly fine. Other issue I had was the wifi driver getting corrupted somehow and then the Microsoft tool deleted it, but that's more than likely a windows issue

what I love about razer is that it's only their new stuff that's pricey, you can get their old but still extremely good items for dirt cheap at retail price. Their items decrease in price realistically with age but always maintain great quality.
I got my $2500 laptop on sale for $1200. College discount and Walmart had it discounted. Its an MSI GE63 Raider. It has a RTX 2060, 32 gigs of ram, Intel I7, 1 terabyte ssd, and 1 terabyte Hdd. This laptop is amazing or gaming. It can hold most modern AAA games around 90-120 fps
My first razer laptop is the one I'm using now: the 2019 blade stealth with the 1650 maxq in it and I'm happy with it. In retrospect, I could have gotten a more powerful laptop with my use case for the price I paid (I mainly just keep it docked to an external monitor anyway except when I work), but whenever I go somewhere like a coffee shop it definitely shows it's value. It really does just feel like a gaming macbook, which imo justifies its existence.
for those who are wondering what are the things in the intro , its for mobile gaming which is a hella bigger industry than pc gaming and they just made what other companies were making which is good business . its for ur fingers so u the sweat doesnt ruin ur aim when playing, it works and everyone uses it. its normal here in asia . (in case anyone wondering no im not a mobile gamer thank u)
I would love the Razer huntsman tournament edition, but for what it is, it's pretty expensive so I'll probably not have a Razer product in the near future.
as somebody with only razer peripherals... I will say 90% of the reason I buy Razer, is because of the chroma ecosystem. Razer has definitely become very apple esc in their pricing & marketing which im not a huge fan of... but the reason to buy an iphone is the ecosystem. Synapse not only has the best RGB customization in my opinion, but it also usually looks the best (also my opinion). I find myself not being able to do what I want with RGB on ANY other products, but Synapse is the first to give me what feels like FULL freedom with RGB, and I love my RGB
I've always used Razer peripherals like M&K, As far as they go I've never had one die on me. In 10 years I'm on KB #3 and mouse #2, the old ones are working fine still I just wanted to switch from an all black to a white one, than from full size to 60% and mouse I just went from Wired to Wireless so maybe their laptops are less reliable but when it comes to peripherals I will prob always just stick with Razer.
Those finger condoms you say of are finger gloves they are used to silde more and for you finger to not burn on the main glass or a ceramic screen protector
I do wish more companies took the chassis more seriously. I ended up with one of those m1 macbooks and the feel of the laptops is definitely a big part of that. Razor seems to be the only one on the gaming side that does that, and I don't really like their products.

Reality is for the type of work buyers of MacBook pro's it is the best machine, I'm talking video editing, music production, programing etc... And M1 MacBook's can do all that unplugged with incredible performance and battery life. Look at any ad for a MacBook pro and you'll see how much they emphasize there machines in those use cases. And yes, some Apple youtubers overexaggerated how great these machines will be, especially when it comes to gaming.. But they still are one of the greatest performing mobile machines, hence why they're used by most people in the mentioned industries!
I got my first ever Apple laptop, Air M1. No matter what Razer or any other manufacturer say about their products, I as an owner of 7 laptops from 2009 till 2020 can freely say that none of them will ever have keyboard, speakers, touchpad, screen and most of all quality feel as Apple does. I never believed in this till i got my hand on my first iPhone 6 months ago and mentioned Air M1. There i said it after being sceptical for so long. Not that I am now a hard core fan or something. Things are expensive and everything is proprietary but to hell with it, its good.
Funny, I actually find Razer products at retail for cheaper than online. My last pickup was the Razer Naga (wired) priced at $40 cheaper than online listings at the time.
I have the Razer leviathan surround sound bar for PC and it's been insane ... I also got the Razer enki chair a few weeks ago and it's really a fantastic chair.
I had a razer blade stealth that in less then 3 years is now dead , 2 batteries replaced because of bulging and replaced a fan , my first asus lasted 8 years no problems so going back to Asus. The shop i had it looked at wouldn't even offer to fix it (dead mother board) and only way to get that mother board was used thru ebay not worth it at all unless under warranty.
No, it's not. But Roccat has really impressed me so far, I can recommend them! Razer has been going for quantity over quality for quite a while, their products still break way earlier than products from other companies. On first glance everything seems nice. Well, until it breaks.

I got the new RTX 3070 Razer Blade 14 AND I LOVE IT!!! I seriously can not believe how much power and performance I get in a tiny 14" laptop!! CoD Vanguard runs at an average of 130fps @1440p, mostly high settings with DLSS set to balanced. Its amazing and worth every penny if you're a college student who needs a portable laptop that can blow your friend's mid-range PCs out the water.

I have been using the "basics" (BlackWidow Keyboard, and DeathAdder mouse) from Razer for well over 10 years now. I have been through 3 sets of keyboards and mice (two of which are still in use to this day, and no set was purchased due to issues with the previous ones). Ive tried Corsair products, as well as Logitech. While I do admit Logitech makes a better mouse, the BlackWidow is just a better keyboard then anything Logitech makes. Pair that with a decent app, and the fact I can live with the DeathAdder which is still a really solid mouse, Razer is an easy choice for me.
you can buy a knife for 50 bucks and you can buy a knife that is worth 500 bucks. Both products have a place in market. Get whatever fits your need and want. I would never buy a razer product but i can understand why people buy stuff from Razer.
Great video, but I wish you'd have compared models with similar specs from other major gaming manufacturers to show the same specs for lower price points but maybe less 'premium' keyboard/shell/hardware for comparison
I would love to see a Razer merch video similar to the Samsung one. Where you buy a ton of specific razor products to try out. Probably not every laptop but it would be cool to see all of them being purchased. Only problem would be the need for sponsorship considering the cost would be a lot.
I've used the razer blackwidow 2014 and 2019 editions for the past decade. The keyboard is solidly built and typing feels awesome, the green switches are unmatched in my opinion. But they do come with problems. My 2014 edition would have the R key and the B key stick and just continuously type until i hit it again, and the 2019 edition has the same problem but with the Volume wheel instead of the keys themselves. The volume wheel is actually the worst one on ANY keyboard. The reason they're worth it to me is I got both versions on Black Friday for some incredible deals. I will say though, I have NEVER had problems with their Deathadder and Naga mice and both I use interchangeably
When using Razer, it's important to remember that the majority of the cost comes from the brand name... Although it may have quality, one does not get as much for their money as with other brands.

Razed feels like Apple with how their products are priced, and the site looking just like there’s. Razer is gamer version of Apple.
I love razer but i also cringe hard when i see dumbass products from them.

i disagree. corsair is the apple of gaming, i believe that razer is more like the samsung, still good quality like apple, more stupid gimmicks, and still expensive like apple.
I've had several Razer mice and from experience, they're really good products, currently rocking the Orochi v2 and I love it. Always wait for a sale as most of the time as their products age, a sale is bound to happen in different retailers.
i feel that logitechs gaming hardware is much better since i daily drive both of this brands before
It depends on which product you buy from them. I worked in warranties back in 2010-2016 and the Deathadder and Blackwidow range were pretty solid, but most of their other stuff had pretty high failure rates. Their QC was also pretty shit and from what I hear, that hasn't changed much.
and they say you pay for the name, this is literal proof for the counter, the brand's quality is top since 2018-2019
@@Pado01 Hmmm, I had a copperhead and spoiled within a month after 1 year of daily use (left mouse click problem, double clicking when I click once), gave Razer another shot and bought Deathadder 2013 version. It’s important to note that a lot of razer laptops have battery issues and its widely documented and they haven’t done anything about it for years.
This is random but i have the exact same keyboard and basilisk v3 combo. Very good products imo
I’m a student and I have a blade 14 with an rtx 3060.
Honestly, razer became a lifestyle brand. If you identify with pride as a gamer, you buy razer, thats what their marketing screams.

Fun fact. The Mercedes emblem is actually a propeller from an airplane. Anyway, I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with all my razer products from laptops to mouse pads.
How the hell are mice with Optical switches double clicking???
yeah, tbh, razer products have started "devolving", i mean, my razer viper started breaking really fast, and the keyboard is fine, just, overpriced. like, who would pay 200 dollars for a keyboard when msi or redragon or even corsair will get you a good keyboard with nice switches for just under 50 bucks

i had the 2020 Razer Blade for when i was in my military training and lived in dorms but still wanted to play with my buddies back home at night and i loved it, never had a single issue with it (no performance, screen issues, over heating etc) it gamed awesome on new triple A games on high settings - felt and looked amazing. it's not one of the laptops that you're almost embarrassed to take out like others on the market cause of how over the top "gamer" it is with the aesthetic, logo'ing/lighting, weird shaped bodies. i say that cause i'm a minimalistic guy when it comes to appearance - It's clean and simple and has the quality feel close to a Macbook Pro (also owned one of those) - suppose that's for anyone looking for a good gaming laptop but want more of the feel of a Macbook laptop (also comes with that Macbook price tag so that is a downfall, you're paying for the build quality and look of it for sure)
The current MacBook Pros obviously changed all that, and I feel like if Razer can workout their QC and continue to improve things like support and software they will probably find even more success in the mainstream.
thats more or less my problem with branding. It gives a company a pass if they push out a bad product.
Is the stealth good at 1080p gaming

Having a fan blow air across it really whisks away some of that heat, and the fans don’t spin nearly as much.
my razor keyboard was worth the money, but the mouse i used to have broke in a record time of 6 months, now i stick to Logitech for most peripherals
Try a Redragon keyboard then talk about worth the money
@@ebrxh2721 viper mini is arguably the only mice that's actually decent from Razer
@@ebrxh2721 blackshark headsets are trash, buy cloud 2 or MH751/752
ive used multible razer mice for years and never had any problems, in fact probably been the most reliable mouse brand i bought tbh
Great mice, good keyboards, mediocre headphones
I bought a Razer laptop to do my college homework at the farm where I work. It's been dropped and abused, it's one of the dustiest environments out there and this laptop is still going strong. Granted I do clean it periodically, and I do keep it in a bag when not in use. It has been the best and most reliable laptops I have ever owned, and that includes Asus G73 models, MacBook pro's and MacBook airs. (Really hope I didn't jinx my self...)
How is the gaming performance?
Note to 5:20. Mercedes, as well as any other OEM does actually not develop or build large parts of its cars, even in the luxury segment. They have incredibly large networks of large (Bosch, Magna) and smaller suppliers doing most of the work.
It’s funny reading the comments on how many people have broken Razer products.
I’m a fan of their mice, my razer taipan has been going strong for over a DECADE now with more than average daily use.
I feel like I’m at the swap meet with the music at first
I hackintoshed my Razer Blade 15 and run Monterey on it and when I game I switch over to windows to play my games.
4:45 Austin trying to be switch and click is so wholesome 😂😂
I've been using razer stuff for a long time now and never run into issues. I've had the razer blade 15 advanced (mid 2019) and it's still working like new
Good to hear, I just ordered a blade 15 lol.
Hope it won't have any issues like my 2 previous blade 14
@@khoadinh4120 only hardware issue I had was that the lid warped a bit. Not really sure how, but the screen is perfectly fine. Other issue I had was the wifi driver getting corrupted somehow and then the Microsoft tool deleted it, but that's more than likely a windows issue

@@suhasop4919 yea, one had short circuit in the charging board (I was playing game and it stopped charging). Another one had swollen battery and dead mic.
what I love about razer is that it's only their new stuff that's pricey, you can get their old but still extremely good items for dirt cheap at retail price. Their items decrease in price realistically with age but always maintain great quality.
I actually have that Razer Straw. It's very nice. Comes with that cleaning tool and a silicone carrying case. Using it right now as a matter of fact.
Lmao dark stoll your comment and he got no likes
ASUS ROG Zephyrus is the gaming macbook, NOT Razer
for those who are wondering what are the things in the intro ,
its for mobile gaming which is a hella bigger industry than pc gaming and they just made what other companies were making which is good business .
its for ur fingers so u the sweat doesnt ruin ur aim when playing, it works and everyone uses it. its normal here in asia .
Macbooks run on a phone processor that has a useless notch. Enough said.
@@estiennetaylor1260 A phone processor that's on a crap ton of steroids and is capable of running intense programs while having longer battery life than nearly every other laptop
@@idkwhattocallthischannel2401 Reality differs from their bs claims.
@@TitanSKiZlz i agree
I got my first ever Apple laptop, Air M1. No matter what Razer or any other manufacturer say about their products, I as an owner of 7 laptops from 2009 till 2020 can freely say that none of them will ever have keyboard, speakers, touchpad, screen and most of all quality feel as Apple does.
I never believed in this till i got my hand on my first iPhone 6 months ago and mentioned Air M1.
There i said it after being sceptical for so long.
Not that I am now a hard core fan or something. Things are expensive and everything is proprietary but to hell with it, its good.
All my peripherals are razer. They aren't worth it when their at retail but definitely worth your buck when they're on sale. Overall I like razer
Funny, I actually find Razer products at retail for cheaper than online. My last pickup was the Razer Naga (wired) priced at $40 cheaper than online listings at the time.
@@EZOnTheEyes oh haha I meant retail price which is like MSRP
Cool video. I do plan on getting one, saving up for it. when I finally get one I'll tell how I feel about it since it'll be my first gaming laptop.
I have the Razer leviathan surround sound bar for PC and it's been insane ... I also got the Razer enki chair a few weeks ago and it's really a fantastic chair.

İ got a razer mouse for €30 and im happy with it , other products idk
I had a razer blade stealth that in less then 3 years is now dead , 2 batteries replaced because of bulging and replaced a fan , my first asus lasted 8 years no problems so going back to Asus. The shop i had it looked at wouldn't even offer to fix it (dead mother board) and only way to get that mother board was used thru ebay not worth it at all unless under warranty.
yeah Razer doesn't honor warranties, ASUS is much better
Overprice garbage I know several people with broken laptops.
I have I think maybe two friends with broken razer laptops and mine broke a couple months ago
Just bought my first razor laptop. Coming in the mail tomorrow. I’m a Mac guy that likes gaming so it seemed like the obvious choice.
To summarise an 11 minute video: No, Razer are not worth it
Hi,side note about mercedes they don't make everything some engines are from renault
No, it's not. But Roccat has really impressed me so far, I can recommend them! Razer has been going for quantity over quality for quite a while, their products still break way earlier than products from other companies. On first glance everything seems nice. Well, until it breaks.
roccat is the best

I got the new RTX 3070 Razer Blade 14 AND I LOVE IT!!! I seriously can not believe how much power and performance I get in a tiny 14" laptop!! CoD Vanguard runs at an average of 130fps @1440p, mostly high settings with DLSS set to balanced. Its amazing and worth every penny if you're a college student who needs a portable laptop that can blow your friend's mid-range PCs out the water.
Hey! I have that 1st mouse. Its a pretty cool retro mouse. It doesn’t seem to be valuable except for nostalgia.
That noise at 1:23 scared the absolute bejeezus out of me! I thought my dog got hurt in the other room and freaked out for a good 10 minutes before I came back to my desk and watched the video again....wtf Austin? What was that??
