Cant really compare razer to a toyota, the toyota will last longer than a few months
I know you think this is a smackdown but it makes no sense? It was founded in 2005?
Japanese cars from Japanese brands seem to last longer than American based cars.
@@Kazikox wtf are you even trying to say? Toyota = known as one of the most reliable car brands, Razer = known for their terrible qa. In no uncertain terms does razer deserve to be likened to toyota lol
@@Liatin1 Oh you're just illiterate. Let me explain - Razer, while a not nearly as good and reliable, has existed for years. So already 'lasted longer than a few months'. So whatever you wrote makes zero sense.
@@Kazikox oh, you don’t understand context
Companies do everything based on analytics. They probably cut the entry level SKUs because they sell significantly less than their top end kits. They're cutting out extra R&D, manufacturing, loss on slow moving units. Likely they calculated what they're giving up to ROG etc on market share and decided it's not worth the competition on entry level laptops
It’s rough being a laptop gamer 😔
Dont feel bad about that, least you can play your games on the go!! Gamers are gamers no matter what platform or pc they play on 😌
I don't know how ASUS could leapfrog Razer with a 115w GPU in their 16 inch model vs Razer's 175w GPU and (to be determined) thermals that aren't as strong as Razer's. ASUS' line leans towards portability, form factor, and design at the cost of power, whereas Razer offers both albeit being in a more expensive package.
I'm so not know you were going to eat the chicken that was raw😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I can’t believe how many people are shilling for ASUS trying to sell a 115W 4090. The ASUS only makes sense if you’re buying a 4070 or lower. If you want an OLED and top end performance, Razer is the only game in town at the moment.
@@beakmaster69 Bingo. Until someone cracks the high TGP game in a portable form factor, Razer hasn’t lost their mind at all. 😭
Higher power consumption means more fan noise and heat. Cramming powerful components in such a small package in expense of comfort and portability is not worth it for me. I'd rather use a PC if I want the best gaming performance. I think Asus nailed the balance between performance and portability.
@@adonespitogonaif I don’t disagree with you, but most people aren’t asking for the Zephyrus line to go as thin as they did - the 2023 G14 was capable of supporting 125 watts and a 4090 and sold like hotcakes with a thicker and slightly heavier chassis. This 2024 generation is a power downgrade in favor of a form factor upgrade. Fine for most demographics, but I don’t think longtime fans of the Zephyrus series are that demographic. I understand ASUS is trying to expand their demographic so it makes sense, but I think folks would want this new generation to be a new line instead of a replacement.
I recently bought the razor 14 2023. Im travel for work and was looking for a laptop that is travel sized, can handle all of my work and gaming needs while look like a normal business laptop and I was willing to pay the extra price for a solid build and great look. I looked into the G14 and I honestly came down between the two laptops, but again the build quility and design of the razor won me over. I perfer the look of the razor over the G14. I like that it is close to looking like a mac book.
I really hope you enjoy it. When people say Razer QA sucks, it's true. I have a dead 2021 razer blade 14 at the moment. It heats up so much the battery was really swollen and almost damaged the track pad. I had a replacement battery but that didn't even last 5 months. I'm seriously considering the g14 now
Sorry to hear your troubles with the laptop. Since my laptop is fairly new I havent had any issues with over heating or anything. But Ill watchout for that issue. Hopefully this laptop lasts as long as my previous laptop which lasted 6 years before it started having the same battery issue that you mentioned.@@anifowosehabeeb4716
Same, the only reason I picked the Razer 14 2023 was because of the design. I didn't really find the G14 as eye catching as the Razer 14 2023
your first mistake was buying a 14 inch laptop. Way too small and no room for heat.
razor
yeah in Australia the prices are normally like 3k+ which is crazy to buy in Australia as with MSI you can get an RTX 4070 for just the same amount which is why in Australia it is not recommended to buy Razer products only because they are overpriced
Got the razer blade 15 2020 had to replace the fans because they started scratching and making noice, now my battery is bulging to the point where I can’t click my mouse pad
Bro that battery is a huge problem and very dangerous. A bulging battery can explode at any moment.
Just replace the battery
I just wanna know, I wanted to buy a new laptop but I see the razer blade 16 as a good option but don't know if maybe other products like the lenovo legion 9 or as u say a G14. I want to use them as both render, photo editing, 3d modeling and gaming, having the best specs (a laptop because I do move a lot and use it in different places), but after hearing all this, this is a huge thing and know I'm even more confused!!!
So I have a older Razer that uses the thunder port for the Razer external GPU. I love that iv been able too upgrade just the graphics card over the years.
can you do this with all models?
Got the lambo blade 16 and I've been very happy with it. Screen looks great and I'll occasionally run at 4k on the TV. Only wish it had oled but the dual mode mini led is petty great.
So you're the person they sold it to...
@@b.c.b.-2130 they made 150 of them. Pretty sure they didn’t sell out lol. There aren’t too many of us that stupid.
@@myricalcampbell6156 yea, I have the non-Lambo version. I honestly couldn't believe when I went to the site a few weeks ago and the Lambo versions were gone. I figured they'd still be selling them next year.
Damn nice bro! Enjoy it! 👌🏻
I have had a few Razer laptops over the last few years. I had decided to try moving over to the G14 a bit over a year ago because I liked the idea that could upgrade the memory. I ended up with a 2022 G14 and was not happy with it. It was incredibly hot, the white color on the keys made them hard to read in a number of lighting situations and it just wasn't for me. When the 2023 version of the blade 14 came out with upgradable memory, I gave my brother the G14 and just moved over to that and have been very happy with it. I have not seen the newer design of the G14, but hopefully they have solved some of the issues I had with it.
They have solved the keycap issue but the ram is still soldered. Heat has mostly been solved I presume.
Razor made some of the most bespoke, business-like laptops for a very long time, but now that everyone else is making their gaming laptops more business-like, they don’t stand out as much anymore
i got my asus zypherus g14 2023 model last year and I'm enjoying it, i always thought about a razer laptop until i saw the g14s upgradability was better, i upgraded mine from 16 GB to 32GB of ram and 512 GB to 2TB of storage and have fallen in love with this laptop.
💯 The Razor is svelte and all, but that kind of coin for something I could get with equal--or close to equal--performance gains for a fraction of the cost simply doesn't make sense--at least to those of us who care to balance "lifestyle" with responsible spending.
Bought a fully loaded zephyrus 16 in 2024… like with 4090 and max ram and storage coming from a 2021 razer blade 15.
But…. I didnt like the finickyness with the thunderbolt connection i grew accustomed to with the blade . Like i sometimes work on dev jobs for hours straight and never thought of the instability of my dock setups…. But when i got the zephyrus i was troubleshooting everytime…. Then i tryed installing a 4 tb nvme and the zephyrus couldn’t detect it. I installed the same drive into my razer and detected and mounted said drive instantly. Also…. The zephyrus has a metal chasis but has several plastic components which takes away from the experiance. Ironically i returned to my old Razer and felt more comfy with it.
Are the wattages the same between the Blades and G series?
No. Razer is higher watts.
the $1000-$1500 laptop market is wide open & razer is just choosing to completely ignore it
I think this price range is the sweet spot. I have a $1000 HP Omen 16 and it works great, didn't expect it to play modern games at high setting like Diablo 4 and Cyberpunk but it did (with DLSS turned on but on 1080p small display, it's barely an issue). If I want to spend more, it would be better for dedicated gaming desktop for better cooling and gaming performance.
Austin always makes valid points. I think if you are talking about RTX 4070 for both New G14 and Razer 16 then the G14 if a better price proposition together with the redesign. However for 4080/4090 the Razer will still have the edge due to the higher TGP. Unless Austin know something we don’t 😉
I'm rocking that 2020 model G14. I think it needs a repaste but it runs anything I want to play fine. I would consider a 2023 model G14 with the extra v-ram if I found a good deal, but the 2024 models all seem lackluster at the price points.
well g14 is fine imo the only things that matter to me was upgradibility which 2024 is poor at. 2023 ran pretty hot
The sponsor cutaway was a bit awkward
I bought the Razer with the 4090 and the 14900hx with Oled. This thing insane. Cyberpunk in max out Overdrive Raytracing easy with 110 fps :) and the display omg so gooood. And thx Spartial Audio ist also awesome.
Thinking of buying the same model but with Mini-LED. How have the temperatures been for you? Is it comfortable to play with a mouse to the right and the laptop keyboard itself or does it get too hot on and near the laptop?
It's awesome to play on it. Ark ascended on Max out and the heat is fine if you put the lap on Max Power 😊
bro you must be rich
Just got a 2022 17” Razer Blade: i7 12th Gen, RTX 3060, 16GB DDR5, 1 Terabyte SSD, 240Hz UHD monitor at clearance for $1305 after taxes included.
"This is my completely unbiased opinion." No, Austin, it isn't. Being paid tons of money by Asus creates bias. That's just a fact. It's human nature. We are kinder to people who have been kind to us. And so it makes all your views on similar products suspect. That's why you have to really think before accepting sponsorships. But you already took the money. So, you have to accept that any thinking person will discount your views on related products at least for the next year or two, if not longer.
🎯
Well I’m torn between the G14 and HP omen `transcend 14 2024, they both look amazing
I'm from New Zealand and I'm looking at getting a new laptop in early to mid 2025 I will be using it for vtuber content on twitch and youtube and photo and video editing I'm looking at Razer or Alienware which would you recommend more??
In Canada, I can get a 2024 G16 (OLED + 4070 + 32GB of ram) for 3000$. A Razer Blade 14 (with IPS + 4070 + 32GB) for 3700$.
Yeah price is crazy here, however, memory is soldered on ASUS so you cannot upgrade later. Also, the G14 with similar specs is not easily found, it’s OOS in all the places I’ve checked
I'm still rocking my Asus Rog 17" chungus laptop with it's desktop rtx 2080 and 9th gen i7 and dual 280w power bricks for mobile gaming and my custom build desktop with her 2080 super. Though she got a cpu upgrade to the Ryzen 5800x from a 3600x. I'm not Planning on anything new at the moment. I play at 1080p only. Had the laptop for 3 or maybe 4 years now can't remember. Desktop I've had for about a year and she drive 3x 1080p displays, 2 are gaming and one is just a standard one for media watching.
In EU, the asus g14 cost almost as much as razer 14...
I love my Razer Wolverine V2 Chroma controller. I was going through official Xbox controllers every 2 months. I've had the V2 for around a year and a half and it's still going strong. Well worth the $150 I paid for it.
I just wish they would do edge to edge glass. The plastic bezel looks really cheap for a $3,000 laptop IMO.
There are 3 schools of thought I have on PC gaming:
1) Get a decent spec gaming desktop for use at home + something like a Legion Go or ROG Ally for portable gaming. You can also get a cheap 15" USB-C monitor and a Logitech K400 Plus for the Ally or Legion Go. I don't recommend a Steam Deck as a laptop replacement here.
2) Top spec Gaming laptop and be done with it.
3) Top spec gaming desktop and a low/medium tier (price conscious) laptop.
I've always done option 3 but this time, instead of buying a new desktop and or laptop (couldn't decide and the desktop could do 1080P gaming at medium-high), I got a Steam Deck instead. I probably should have waited for the ROG Ally. For most people, wasting money on a several thousand dollar premium gaming focused laptop wouldn't be worth it, even if that person planned on keeping it for 10+ years and could justify a use case beyond gaming.
The Razer Blade 14 20223 is hands down the best PC Laptop on the market. The G14 from personal experience is a Dollar General plastic paper weight, hot pocket. Asus gives you good hardware but cut corners on build quality to save on the price tag. If you want a premium laptop that can game, edited using the top software without skipping a beat then the Razer tax wont matter much. The Blade 14 doesn't get hot like the G14 at all and when it gets warm the fans arent annoyingly loud its actually quiet pleasing. at the end of the day it's all up to what you can afford. If you work in a office setting this bad boy means business. If you can't afford it jsut say it, we have all been there. Save up to get it and try it out for yourself. By the way the Blade 14 2023 is going for $1,799 - $1,999 get on it while its hot. Then clean up your old gaming hog and throw it on eBay to save even more $.
115w 4090 vs 175w 4090. Which one will you chose?
The price of a Razer blade 16 Rtx 4080 oled are insane here in sweden they are 54000kr/5170$usd which is insane!
I just got the blade 16 oled 4090. It’s amazing.
i've had my blade 2022 since launch and have had 0 problems, would def buy again.
11:41 I really want that 12 inch gaming laptop would be awesome
3k for a razer ?! That mf better shave me with an actual razor
I've always liked razor hardware. I actually ended up buying two Tartarus V 2 .. However, after dealing with razor synapse those just sit on the shelf now. I've tried to sell them but nobody wants them. Hardware looks great the software is near malware in my opinion. It sucks cause razor is so close to being like so many say the "Mac of windows or gaming". But for the Mac it's not only hardware it's very much the software as well that makes them so great. Razor just doesn't cut it. Personally, they've lost me as a customer probably permanently. I love asus ,Lenovo Gigabyte for peripherals and lots of other companies as well. razor just ain't one of them. Course that sucks because their hardware designs look so cool and could be cool if they put the time in the software.
part of the reason buying into razer might be the after service , Ive got a razer mouse bought from japan that I brought back to my country and broke (still in warranty), but since I cant get back anytime soon I didnt expect anything and assumed it would be a write off , still though I messaged them to see if they could help me somehow (expected they would probably just tell me to f-off nicely since it isnt in the country where it was bought) , BUT somehow after showing them proof of purchase and that it was actually broken they actually sent me a replacement , which is fantastic . NGL razer stuff is expensive compared to others most of the time , but knowing you will be taken care of within the period might actually be worth it , especially seeing some of the really questionable things other brand been doing with their after service now a days (bent gpu from gigabyte , motherboard from assus and burnt 4090s from almost everybody anyone?). but in general you be the judge if the service is worth the price hike , for me personally yeah it is yes
This is where Nvidias DLSS 3 comes in great for laptops, where they can only output certain amount of power.
i cant wait to see what new g16 can do
RAZER laptops as always been so stupidly expensive...
I have gone through A LOT of these laptops that you mentioned trying to find the one that worked best for me personally the ROG G14 was nice but too small and the G16 was okay but thermals were not great I have a love hate for Razer but over the past few years I have noticed that MSI has stepped it up and I got myself a MSI Stealth 16 Studio and it has surpassed everything I've tried so far. I wish it had got a shout out in your argument. I would take it over the ROG any day.
I think I'm going to get the 2022 Asus G14
Price's are down, design is great and it's still a beast of a laptop
Epic intro 😂
They don’t turn on in high humidity countries
personally i love razer been using them for years but i also feel like if they don't start waking up in all departments including peripherals they will get left behind. that is not good when all that you sell is laptops and peripherals. i dont see why they dont have a cheaper sku of laptops with good plastics and a metal keyboard deck. that all of the masses will buy that will support the high end devices that you dont sell much of.
There absolutely badass until the fans start going out and making crazy amounts of sound. Absolutely loved mine but for some reason it's making racket buzzing sounds and I looked online a lot of people are having same issue.
Matt is constantly wrong😂
I've noticed that whether wrong or right. Matt REALLY loves hearing the sound of his own voice.
I bought a Razer Blade 14 2021 3070, I haven't had any issue except for temperature going for 95-102 celcius while gaming or rendering. I've been using it when I was in School.
Toyotas also have Toyota tax which makes them out of the price range for a lot of people
Razer wants to be the Apple of gaming laptop without anything to back it up.
0:27 Razor Vs ASUS VS LEGION VS LENEVOBOOK VS MSI?
WHO WINS😅?
I love my razer basilisk v3 pro. Not a fan of their other products
Couldn’t agree more with Austin, razor needs to step it up, it’s not 2016-2017 anymore.
If money weren't an issue, and I wanted -the best-, I would absolutely go for a Razer.
That being said, money is an issue, so 'value proposition' is huge to me. For that reason, when I last upgraded in 2022, I finally jumped off the Alienware wagon and bought (wait for it) an Asus. Say what you might about Alienware, but I did appreciate their well developed parts and software system.
The Tuf Dash 15 (2022) I got destroyed the AW offerings at the time for comparable specs, better/easier upgrades, and for up to $700 less. My only regret? No rgb lighting. 😢
Asus is a dramatically larger company I’m sure that helps them hit their price point.
*_i’m rooting for you:😍💓_*
Just go for a Framework 16 if you want to game on a laptop.
I’m getting a g16 2024 4080 over a blade all because I see no reason to spend the extra cash for the logo
Razer got nothing to offer when comparing to other companies
i had a blade in 2014 and it stopped working almost immediately, I have since never bought razer anything.
I’d rather drop the extra money on the framework gaming laptop. If I had the money :(
Why would you interrupt the middle of your own sentence to start your ad... That is really off-putting editing
Personally I bought the 2023 flow x16 with the rtx4070. And I have no regrets.
Regarding what you said in the video about the 2024 G14 - as a hardware pro it's hard to recommend this laptop for gaming or creative work. For usual tasks? maybe, but then again you don't need to splash on a laptop that costs between 2-3k USD for office or light work, much cheaper laptops achieve that goal. For creative or gaming? a big no no. Why? The design is nice and the OLED display is great but that's where it ends 1. The CPU is basically a rebranded 7940HS - this is basically last year's CPU in a "new" packaging. If the 2023 G14 is already running very hot imagine what would happen with this year's thinner chassis and inadequate cooling while gaming or doing a high res video editing - it's going to thermal throttle and run super hot a lot more. 2. the 4070 GPU is slightly slower than last year's model, not by much but still slower meaning it would perform worse at an extra cost for this year's pricing. The 4050/4060/4070 are capped (voltage wise) by Nvidia to 100W-110W, anything above it is lost and you wouldn't feel any difference, and with the thinner chassis and bad heat handling it would become an issue very fast for gamers and creative/content creators related tasks. 3.The RAM is soldered! 32 GB soldered is alright but they sell a 16GB soldered RAM! this is not enough for a 2024 gaming or creative laptop, it's arguably borderline ok for current gaming but won't stay that for long, and really? stuck with a 16GB soldered ram and 1 SSD slot for an over $2000-$2500 "gaming' laptop? if you're after 32GB then you're getting closer to $3000 which is sick pricing wise! In the G14 2023 version the RAM wasn't soldered so you could add in more memory if needed. So what this year's g14 gets you? you're paying 2K-3K USD for last year's hardware with degraded performance at extra cost when you have better alternatives out there. Sure the display is great but what you end up buying is a screen and a sleek design - paying a premium for design and an OLED screen.
Good point and price is annoying
Anyone notice that these two are using an Apple laptop!!!
Razor is expensive but I found a 2022 Blade 14 with the Ryzen 6900HX and 3070ti for just over $1200USD that's virtually brand new. So screw Asus. Also Asus hasn't been known for their customer service in the past either.
I bought the ROG G16, and it was plagued with issues. I returned it, and replaced it with a Razer Blade 15. These laptops are not created equal. I would happily pay the Razer tax over the absolute dogpile of poor qc and performance issues, as well as very simple-but-dealbreaking engineering oversights from the G16. I loved the G16's battery & display, but Asus is only ON PAPER surpassing Razer. I've owned a handful of Asus/ROG laptops, this is my first Razer. I think Asus certainly has the potential to surpass Razer, but they're not there yet.
How about the looooong record of quality issues? Last year, thousand of laoptops where delivered with broken touchpads.... And the years before with bloating batteries, broken keyboards, pixel deaths etc.... I don't want to pay 4000$ for a laptopt that might be broken in 2 years, if not already broken right out the box. Great build quality? I doubt it. It might feel like good quality, but how about their record?
ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 (2023) is the Best Gaming LapTop Right Now
The lenovo legion 5 is fucking great laptop with and rtx 3050 ti and ryzen 7 and very upgradable
If it was truly apples to apples, sure, they charge too much. I wouldn't say a G14 tops a Blade 14 though...and I have owned more than one of each model. My G14 is more powerful (more pertaining to last year's 4080 and 4090 models), that's where its advantages end. The G14 gets hotter, it's louder, it has backscreen bleeding the Blade doesn't suffer from, and it's just not as premium of a feel. Both are great laptops but I'd say the G14 is like a Dodge Challenger Hellcat whereas the Blade is more of a Ferrari..one can outmatch the other in topline speed and power, but that's where the comparison ends. I will say though that I have yet to see this year's G14 in person.
Razer or Asus?
lot of tension in the air on this one. had to click away
Hate to say it, cause I believed in them. But just stick to mouse and keys with Razer. And be choosey. Or just get a Keychron and a MX Master.
Can’t agree more my 4080 Asus strix was 2300 and the razer being a decent amount more for less and you are getting the ease of upgrade and 1 tb and 18 inch screen and 240hz display like no brainer that people would go for that over razer
I have the Razer blade 16. OLED 4090.
it's AMAZING. Stop complaining the Asus equivalents are slow AF in comparison and build quality is better on the Blades. People who review both the G16/blade 16 always note how much better and solid the Razer is.
"people paying for innovation.." , I'm guessing Apple product users just like to throw away their money lol, no innovation there after the M chip.
Razer be like... if you're a broke boy, just say so!
I stop buying the razer laptop for a reason... Super expensive, but cheap battery! F that! All the razer laptop I owned got bloated. The asus... Been using it for like 2 years already. No complains here. Also this price is absolutely crazy
"Well built and complete package... the POWER..." -> until it starts throttling because of their awful cooling.
and I won't start typing about their non-existent qa, no-no
This doesnt explain the short you just posted.....
Did he just call esports player athletes
they could compete better by having a half-decent keyboard.
I will get the Zenbook 14 OLED with Ryzen 7 8740U.
Thats everything with pc hardware these days. The price gouging needs to stop. If a midrange pc costs $1700 to build, it's too expensive.
No e sports player uses a laptop, I'd rather have an Rog Allegiant or an Alienware laptop😅
3000 USD for a 4070? You are out of your mind. Razer is out of their mind on specs/pricing. The market tells them they are wrong. Just watch how their market shares shrinks year after year.
bro asus rog did not leapfrog razer, razers more expensive but like deal with it bro its overall better if you dont care about yo budget get razer, its better, if you do, get asus. both are fine but asus did not leapfrog razer. i have a viper ultimate, 2023 blade 14, chroma headstand, goliathus mousepad and a blackshark v2 pro and they're amazing, you can get just as good stuff from other brands for cheaper but its like "two cars are functional, honda civic and lamborghini gallardo" both get the job done, but razer is more deluxe and premium and thats why people probably like them more.
Razers blade pro 2022 reliability and customer service is disgusting. £2K on a laptop for it to die 1 month before warranty expired and have zero customer service support.
Use whatever excuse Mac people use to defend their prices and apply that to Razer.
When will you be renaming this video to "ROG G14 laptop is the BEST!! Pt. 2"
Razer sells a brand and has good marketing. Their hardware quality is sub par for how much they charge.
Are they going to eat chicken wing with what?😂😂😂😂
I think the Asus Zephyrus G series offers better value.
Thanks guy with glasses, i want to be nothing like you and with your clear paid bias, im buying a razer
Razer lost what they were best at, creating the best looking latop? No way. Asus is cool but not even close to the razer one.. they dont need to change anything on that department basically because theres nothing wrong.
Stop doing soldered RAM and I'm with you.
how it can be best for most of the gamers for this price???
