    As a one armed woodworker, sanders play a vital role for me. They can do me a lot of harm as I can't switch hands.
    This sander has blown me away. I never thought an electric sander could be this good for under $250.
    It's even better when you use different H&L pads (I like the soft pads, as it gives me detail, where the hard pad gives you, as you said, a flatter flow.)
    Plus, that 4ah will give you well over 60 mins of sanding. And the dust collection is amazing.
    Bosch is getting ramped up to take the top spot back again. They started with better batteries, and their new tools coming out will crush other companies. Because Bosch actually listens to people.

    Got a great deal on the Bosch sander at Lowe's for just $129 with a free 4Ah CORE battery and charger

      Does it still look amazing when it's sitting still?

    Thank you, sir. Only, I was afraid to force the battery release button for fear of breaking it. It seems pretty hard to pull. Should I pull even harder or there is a simple way to release it?

    A majority of my tools are Bosch both 12V and 18V platforms. This is really a no brainer for me, I know the dust extraction is good. Have the Brushless Ridgid and it serves me well, similar to the Dewalt I'd say. THough I got to get my hands on one of the GEX this week maybe both voltages.

      From what I understand the 12v is the same motor as the 18v. They should be pretty identical except for the battery

    That DeWalt was my go to cordless sander (it was the best imo) but the new Bosch sanders kick it's butt. I got the 12v one though. Do yourself a favor and try the 3m Cubitron sanding nets they are better than the diablos

    Great comparison, I just bought the Bosch for a good deal. $79 plus free battery and charger. I also have the DeWalt and plan to use both with different grits.

    Thanks for the video. Im in the market for a cordless ROS, as im trying to ditch my corded black and decker which has been good to me but the cord really annoys me at times, plus the fact that my sanding area is in one of the corners of my garage where there is no outlet so i have to run an extension cord.
    I was eyeing the dewalt or ridgid, but leaning more towards the dewalt as i have plenty dewalt batteries. I saw this bosch at lowes, i picked up the display and felt just right, lowes has a deal that includes a 4 ah battery and charger for 149.99, i wanted to do some research before pulling the trigger, so far every review is positive, im going to go back and pick this bad boy out. I've been wanting to expand on my bosch 18v lineup, so far i only have the 3.6 gallon shop/wet which im a big fan of. Portable and its cordless, perfect for hauling around and debris cleanup. I recommend it, ive found more uses than i thought i would have!
    Thanks for the video!

    If you don’t mind me asking, 1 year on what are your thoughts on both sanders now? I was just about to purchase the DeWalt until I saw the Bosch so started doing a little checking. Brushless is a must for me so it was nice to see Bosch actually has a brushless sander unlike their jigsaws. As it happens I actually own a fair few 4.0am/hr Bosch batteries too so your video was a great look at both. Just wanted your take now seeing you’ve had much longer to use them. Thanks

      Still the 1st sander I reach for. Just as smooth as day 1. Worth the purchase still.

      @@theremodelerslife Gentleman, thank you. I ended up pulling the trigger on the Bosch and have to say I’m not disappointed. Great ergonomics and I like that it doesn’t rattle my bones or wreck my ear drums either. Appreciate you getting back to me

    Have to say the dewalt has thus far stood up to daily use very well and the battery packs are quality.. Standard dust outlet size would be great.. But far to simple..

    Great video. Do you have an idea of your total run time with a 4h18v battery using a sander as you did in this video? Thanks

    • @theremodelerslife
      @theremodelerslife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really. I don't use it nonstop. It's usally for paint prep. Best guess would be 30min? Nonstop with "normal" pressure.

    Thanks for this video! Just the things I wanted to know!
    But I have a question, I have the older batteries, non pro core. Will it perform good aswell, have you tested this?
    Would love to hear it!

      It should work woth any 18v bosch battery. I've used it with the profactor 8.0, 4.0 and old 6.3. Works great with all of them

    Thanks for the review. I saw this thing last night online and was like 🤔 I gotta check out a video on that then saw yours like😁. So good look. Anyway pricing is already getting ⬆️$$. At least Lowe’s carries it and they shouldn’t get out of control. But yeah this is a serious contender for my next tool purchase.

    is the sander a Random orbit or just an orbital sander?

  • @Usonian7

    The DeWalt sounds more unhinged. The Bosch sounds more like a mirka.

    • @theremodelerslife
      @theremodelerslife  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Bosch is definitely aimed at finish sanding. The dewalt is more of a all arounder

    what is difference between this item and GEX 185?

    • @theremodelerslife
      @theremodelerslife  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I dont know i haven't used the 185, The GEX is more slim and is very smooth in operation, having you hand on top allows for more even pressure or control, the 185 you had is more on the side.

    Anyone use this to polish a car? Just purchased one.. i’ll provide an update. Upon a quick search it may to be harsh for paint but i don’t plan to put too much pressure and at lower speeds.
