For me the GTI is the perfect daily driver, it has decent gas mileage, looks good, handles amazing, has good leg room in the back, good storage, and yet it can also be very quick when you need it to be, the only thing I don’t like is the digital dash, but over here in America we don’t have the MK7.5 yet so that’s not really an problem, and also I wish it was an bit louder, or have an option from manufacture to get an louder exhaust
i have the GLi and I went for ETS intake, and catback. thier products are great and are american products. it's aftermarket yes but their engineering for Vw's and audi's are top notch for a north american company.
When I upgraded from an MK6 to an MK7 with the Performance Pack I couldn’t believe the difference in mid-corner grip. With the LSD you can apply power mid corner and it pulls you through like magic. Total difference maker.
I test drove one of these and can easily say, I really want this to be my next car. This car has really good pull and doesn’t feel gutless even with the DSG.

Hi Max, can I ask you something? Last time you tested the Polo GTI and confronted with the regular Golf GTI (the one with 230 hp), you said that you found the Polo a little bit more envolving, do you think the same about this one with the performance pack?
I have a 2019 GTI 7 speed DSG. The 1-2 shift in drive under light acceleration is mushy. Feels like it’s slipping 2nd while first is still engaged. Anyone else experience this? It’s slightly better in sport but not great. My MK7 had a better shift. I don’t want to tune the dsg for warranty reasons. I have 1k miles on it so maybe it will get better?

It’s good on fuel in comparison to many other hot hatches. It’s a great car when cruising or giving it beans. Mines stage 1 and it’s just about bearable to handle with the torque steer

Jan vw had the 2.5 5cilinder in the US spec Jetta and lowest spec US model Golf, the touareg had a straight 5 tdi engine and I bet there where more models.

TheDJZeroX you just need good tires. Awd means awful mpg, a ton of added weight, power loss, and a much more expensive vehicle

You need those +200hp when driving +150km/h, launch traction is not everything.
Got mine tuned over 330 hp, you can only kiss the paddle under 80km/h..otherwise a bicycle overtakes you.
Well I drive a FK8 type R. 320bhp front wheel, np with wheel spin. Yes if you really push it, there is some torque steer, bit it's marginal.
If you wheel spin its because you give too much throttle! Be gentle with the pedal and learn how to put the power to the ground.
just look at the ground, its wet and cold.. ofc there is less grip with summer tires

Those seats are the basic ones and you can get all leather full electrical seat as option. Yes, I find these seats more appealing than the old ones.
They are option seats. The tartan ones comes as standard.

These are not the basic ones. The clark seats are the basic ones. These in this car are the honeycomb optional seats. ;)

No mine is also letting the clutch slip from 1 to 2 Gear. It‘s normal for the MK 7 GTI

Depends on the rpm. If I upshift above 6k I have some delay and if I downshift from gear 2 to 1.
