To be fair, Edison era decks lived on in a lot of local tournaments as people didn’t have money to shell out for Infernity/Saber/Dualities/etc. But yes modern deck building theory has improved older decks of this time.
Fun episode that really showcased Diva Hero Beat's resilience despite not having Alius for so long in two of the games! This series has been really helpful for looking into the minds of the more competitive players, so as a current Edison player, I'm glad you made it! Looking forward to the next decks that you'll showcase! Also, I didn't know that you could use Gemini Spark to pop a monster and force a redeclare that bypasses Battle Fader! Glad I learned about that now and not in the middle of a tournament!

Since side-boarding is constantly in flux depending on the format, I wanted to omit that for now and save it for a separate series of videos dedicated solely to side-boarding!

ATrueHero has a good series called "How to beat [X Edison Deck]" that is focused on siding, which people could try looking at for a section like your suggestion.
Haven’t played Yugioh in a long time. Mermail and Fire Fist were Tier 1 when i left the game (i played mermail and enjoyed the heck out of it). All that’s to say, I try to keep up with the game, but I love this series. I remember all these decks and loved that time in the game. I play Magic now and enjoyed your reaction to different cards in other card games and how it would affect Yugioh.
That play is probably fine but it does something i dont like which is permanently turn off gorz Our opponent was actually quite good and wouldn't have just swung into mirror force, he would sack the android for dupe lock before battle phase and keep call on the field permanently which probably ends up with us losing faster. I think in g1 we should have just sparked alius and used miracle instead of conceding to another monarch but given that zero would break his dupes and give him swaps i think we lose to another monarch anyway I think that we should probably also lose game 3 if he soul ex's zero and banishes dyna. Instead he does it the wrong way and gives us a 3rd dyna via call of the haunted to win with. I think the other way around inevitably wins with how we were drawing
Rota also doesn’t reveal too much information to ur opponent while e-call reveals exactly what deck you’re playing depending on how you tune up your deck

Its not like there is any ash like cards in the format so outside of warrior lady in the side deck, why does it matter? Just curious since I am kinda new to this format😅
@@sammydray5919 RotA into Stratos into ocean could also be the 'diva hero' otk deck or the 'hero frog' variant of frogs, but yes you are right that once you search alius it does not matter

Unfortunately, Joseph is closer to Farfa than Jesse Kotton. Both Farfa and Jesse played BA, but Jesse did better. Joseph loves HERO, but he's not one of the better players of the deck.
Diva Heros are the only way to play edison Heros. I saw a list that played Caius, ryko, hamster and other cards. I understand that those can work with heros. But that was no hero deck. This, this is A HERO DECK!! I'm happy that it was this version showcased!!

Honest question. Game 1 was lost because honest wasn't used on the gorz token. Was the gorz token being light attribute just forgotten? Or was it just not seen as the optimal play at the time?
@@sergioescamilla6333 Yeah. Raiza target was the token, not gorz. I'm now so focused on remembering that gorz token is light attribute that I didn't even see that. Bouncing the gorz would be dumb. Ignore my tunnel vision. Thanks for the reply
AbZero is just so busted in this format. There's no good answer to its floating effect outside of Starlight Road/Stardust since even bouncing triggered it back then.
was this series discontinued? I don't feel like you should spend so much time in the deck profile, its not necessary when playing the deck is more interesting and you can talk about the deck as you go.
I will be completely honest and probably get a lot of hate but this series suck (in MY opinion). You are explaining the most simple cards in a 1+ hour long video. I ended up watching the whole thing cuz I support your channel and will watch whatever you upload but I have to say that this is my least favourite of your series. For me personally, It will be more entertaining a quicker explanation followed by more duels.

I would agree that it's too long for me personally. And obviously for you too. But it's there for people that do enjoy it and i think that's great. While i don't see the point to complain about it in the comments. I do see a point for a new series to give feed back on in. For me i realized i was getting bored with it and so i just skipped to the dueling part of the video and enjoyed that part.
I know that that the lack of views might be discouraging but I really hope you continue with this series.

It feels like people are applying modern theory to these older decks, and they are already looking much better than decks from that time did.
You also have to remember this format lasted for like 5 weeks. We've been playing edison for 2+ years at this point

I assume we run the RotA instead of just 3 E-Call because of warrior lady in the side, because main deck the cards would be interchangable.

If I understand correctly, Dupe lock prevented them from attacking, and then Ryza's effect was used as a workaround to battling the token.
