It really is. Don’t believe the lies you might hear of getting “used to” of the weather here. I’ve been here 17 years and the weather has ruined my mental health. It’s very long, cold, dark and isolating winters here for 8 months.
I live in the Northern Territory of Australia and it's unbearable hot. People have to live indoors for over 6 months. ... And it's true, you don't get used to!
I lived in Melbourne for over a decade and currently live in Toronto for over a year now. Just basing it on these two cities, Australia is much better. Weather and people are friendlier, it’s cleaner and has overall better infrastructure. Melbourne is cheaper and more laidback. In general from my experience Australia seems more developed, looks and feels newer, better wages. People on average has higher standard of living. Overall the quality of life is better in Australia.
Melbourne will for sure be cheaper than Toronto. Toronto is very expensive. I would say Melbourne and Montreal would be a better comparison if you are looking at lifestyle, culture, cost of living etc. Infrastructure is better in Aus generally because it doesn't have to deal with the weather impacting infrastructure and construction efficiency. Australians are not friendlier. They would maybe be on par. Australia has a different quality of life, which can be interpreted as better potentially.
Gzz20320 I thought it was the opposite. I have lived in Sydney between 1986 - 1991, however coming from Europe, I moved on to Canada instead. I felt Australia was 10 years behind with Canada at the time. I don’t understand why so many people love hot weather. I didn’t enjoy working in it. Canada has a true four seasons, which I love, and let’s be honest, no one enjoys Christmas in summer. All in all, food was awesome down under, and a few other things are great but I can find the same in Canada.
I'm a Colombian living in Melbourne and so far the good things about here are the salaries are good even if you work in cleaning or hospitality they pay good wages. The weather is very flexible even Melbourne that has "the worst" weather is OK. Here the summer is very short, is supposed to start in December but you rarely make it to the beach during that month. January and February and part of March are the sunny hot months here in Melbourne. Apart from that you won't see the sun until September lol as he was saying in the video there are no extreme temperatures here, the coldest you can feel in Melbourne is minus 1 and that 's like a major event here and happens like one day. Other parts of Australia are hot all year around I have seen people in Queensland going to the beach on July. The people is very friendly but I find them distant I mean they are really nice to you but that doesn't mean they are your BFF I have find that more on aussies who spend their life traveling the world. Otherwise they tend to be more focused in their family and friends. The transport system here in Melbourne is very convenient. The coffee culture is insane. I think you won't find it anywhere else. Also the vegan and plant based culture is growing up enormously recently. I am not a sports person but here people really love sports and exercise and not for vanity but for their health. You are always going to see someone jogging, riding the bike, swimming, playing tenis or footy. I personally take that as a lesson. I have not seen much of the world but the landscapes here are breathtaking. Yes there is not much mountains and bushes ( something I miss from Colombia) but the fact that you can just take the train and spent the day at the beach is awesome. Now the bad thing is the immigration system is a nightmare, to get even PR is difficult not everyone gets it that easy unless you are an IT engineer. I myself have been here 5 years and my chances of PR and way far away, it takes years. Also the housing market is crazy expensive. Even for renting. I am sick living with Flatmates but cannot afford something just for myself at the moment.Travel to other counties is expensive and far. Travelling within Australia is also expensive and to some part of the country way to far. I look forward to move to Canada also cause is closer to Colombia, the only thing that terrifies me is the cold and even though I am from Bogota (also know as"The Fridge") I have never been exposed to such weather. I do not love love the heat so that is something I won't miss much about here. Canadian immigration system is friendlier and also I have done my research and found things about Canada that I really like for example the film and TV industry wich is my expertise area and the ton of major cities that Canada has. Wich I prefer more. In regards health care I can't say much. As I am on a temporary visa I do not have access to medicare but I have heard that is good compared to other countries. I guess I will have to go to Canada and see with my own eyes I am pretty sure is really good place.
All the best. I live in South Africa and plan to send my child for Uni to one of these two countries but I'm not sure which would be the best to send a black African teen. I have never visited the two countrues but I think I'll love most things about Canada except the weather
@@m.m7977Canada is mostly looking for skilled immigrants that falls in their “job” TEER categories & focused on industries such as Health care, IT (any job works even an It analyst), Construction, Argiculture & french speaking individuals.
That;s a great description. I just arrived in Canada from the U.K. its a nice warm summer here. However, I'm not looking forward to the cold winter. However, people in Toronto are saying its getting warmer due to climate change which means I'm not expecting anything below -10 which isn't too bad come to think of it. Best of luck for the move.
i lived all over canada i lived in toronto, greater vancouver, hamilton, around niagra falls, in and around moncton and saint john. i honestly like it here. i like how canada's geography is so diverse and different. i like how on the west coast you have mountains, rain forest and beautiful beaches and vancouver island.
australia too is incredibly diverse in terms of geography. its crazy how the north end of Australia is stinkingly hot and humid, while at the same time, its snowing in southern regions like tasmania
We do see freezing temperatures, just not in most major cities. There are some anomalies with Aussie weather. The continent gets more snow than Switzerland annually and Canberra, Australia's capital, generally gets 3 x more days of frost than the capital of England, London. Towns in central highlands of NSW and Victoria see Vancouver type weather.
Great points. I'm an Aussie but have always felt at home in Canada. I think we definitely share that Commonwealth vibe. I do think Canadians are extra polite in terms of giving way to pedestrians in supermarket car parks or pedestrians crossing at random points on the road away from marked crossings. In Australia, I feel as though if you're a pedestrian and you're not meant to be there, you wait until there's a gap in the traffic. In Vancouver, the minute I put one foot down off the "sidewalk" (footpath) to wait for a break in the traffic, all the traffic comes to a halt. It makes me quite self-conscious. Also love how all the parking stations are called "Parcades". Also, Aussie's love the snow. We have a few ski fields ourselves, but the ski season is relatively short -- 2-3 months if we're lucky. So Canada is awesome for snow. So it's no wonder when you arrive at Whistler, every second accent you hear is Aussie. No wonder you feel at home :)
Opposite experience for me. In vancouver I have seen many vehicles try to squeeze past when people are crossing the streets. But that is in the city. A couple occasions i have seen people run into pedestrians. 10 years living in australia, 2+ in canada
Ahmm...Gday...thanks 4 nice comment..however, some few correction...you mentioned "Aussies love snow"...I'm an Aussie but I do not like snow at all, that includes our aussie families, colleagues & friends etc..We prefer tropical or sub-tropical moderately warm or sunny mild temperate climate whole year round such as Australia❤. We are also 100% nudists from 4-seasons city of fabulous Melbourne. Three up to 4 layers of clothes/jacket for 8 months of canadian notorious thick heavy snow is a "big no no" to us. You should have written "Some Aussies love snow". Thanks m8. Have a good one😀.
@@michaeltokarz9150 Go to Melbourne to! It's the culture capital of Australia and former number one worlds most livable city (Most Aussies agree Melbourne is a better city!!) Also go to Brisbane and the Gold Coast and scuba dive in the Great Barrier Reef. For sure a highlight of Australia!
G’day mate is in Sydney. You saw harbour view before. If you are good surfer or beeches lover then Australia is for you mate. Harsh summer sleeping in beaches drinking beer. That’s Australian culture mate. every Sydney northern beaches from 8 am morning to 10 pm night, drinking beer rule, is quite good . So I think Australia is far better for beer lover rather than Canada. Everywhere beach and entertainment life.
As a Canadian, you’ll highly enjoy the Gold Coast and Brisbane weather both in the state of Queensland, and they’re one hour drive away from each other.
No thanks, good luck with your extreme weather , freezing cold to record heat!! Australia has been cold enough this winter! You can shove your Canadian winters!! #australiawins
I live in Townsville, Queensland, Australia. Our winter lasts for about one week at 20°c ... the rest of the year is pretty much VERY hot with 100% humidity
I have lived in both countries in Melbourne and Perth in Australia and Vancouver, Edmonton and Toronto in Canada. Over all I found Canada to be more advanced and more modern as it isn't so isolated and is very close to the center of everything (US) I also found the quality of houses and neighborhoods to be much higher In Canada, Australia is a nice place but Canada is very highly developed, even more than my homeland the UK. Also in Edmonton/Calgary Alberta everything was so cheap compared to the UK and Australia and was of much better quality than australia/comparable to UK (in some ways) . Love Canada from huddersfield, England
@Lifestyle Chris Vincelli no but I regularly go to New York/Ohio and Seattle to hang out with family who live there. Love it there too its more happening there than Canada/Australia i found it really busy like the UK but Ohio and NYC are quite dirty and feel a bit behind, if I was to live there I would be in florida or Cali, I love beaches and all the amazing theme parks and things to do in those areas.
@Karym Eliya Noo noo chance. I love Australia but its simply behind. Even the UK is way better than Austalia and i found Canada to be better than both. The weather is nicer in Australia yes and the UK is more vibes and more culture but Canada is ahead, people live good there. Real good! especially if you avoid expensive cities. You can access anything about your life through a website there. Its insane!! Idk how to explain it, you have to live there. You can have the best houses and own boats and trailers and everything is affordable with the wages there. Its also very economically and politically stable and is top 10 economies in the world with only 40 million people, the place is literally sitting on oil and gold. We could all learn a thing or 2 from Canada trust me. Loved my time there more than any place, shows what you can achieve when you generally have governments that genuinely care about the people. America is a whole diff story, its like Canada on major steroids but then again, would rather live in Canada and visit the US. My fav 2 countries.
@Karym Eliya That's just not true though lol my Australian mates at U of A also agreed that Canada is very highly developed. Have you been to both countries? I have lived for 3 years in Aus and 2 years in Canada and I studied in both places, got my degree at the U of A in Canada actually and education is great in both countries and feel more hands on than the UK but Canada has the best education in the world and thats a fact you can search I could never say I have seen better education I have also studied in the UK and Italy for 6 months each. Australia is slightly more connected as its smaller but Canada has easy access to the US and has very diverse regions and more to do. No one can convince me there is a better place to live. I wish my job contract was longer than 2 years otherwise I would have got to stay forever. Also, food really sucks in Australia man and it costs sooooo much money and they don't even have internet at most restaurants and even some cafes!! And home internet is so slow its unbelievable.
Regarding Hockey; one should realise that in Australia Hockley is "Field Hockey'" while the Hockey referred to in this video is "Ice Hockey" and I must point out that PNG (Papua New Guinea) is actually the closest foreign nation to Australia (by about 3 kilometres if I remember correctly. (See Saibai Island, Torres Strait, this island being part of the the Australian State of Queensland).
How easy is it to move to USA if you a Canadian? Do you need a sponsorship which is obvious but it seems it’s much harder as USA is already a well established country with a maxed out population ? and compared to Australia do you think that Australia would be a better place to settle in than Canada , I’ve also been here also for 15 years studied here and went to college so I guess I’ve had enough of the cold and am considering going to a warmer climate .
Canada has only 10 days of paid leave per year usually at the workplaces, but Australia has 20 as I know. This is pretty underdeveloped from Canada, as huge part of the world (in EU for sure) has more as well. How do you travel if you don't have time to?
@@ChrisVincelli that's very ignorant, not everyone has negotiating power, if you have a minimum wage kind of job you may not have much leverage when you negotiate, that doens't mean those people don't deserve time off of work to spend with their family (and no, I'm not one of them, but I have something called empathy)
@@ChrisVincelli negotiating with the employer?... that is hilarious. For the average worker, you would get a longer conversation from the boss by asking them the time and the conversation would be even shorter if you wanted it to be paid by the employer
Pretty accurate, I'm from Australia and yes Canada definitely has better mountains. Mind u i'll always have a soft spot for the aussie Blue Mountains. Also, there are highways connecting all major cities in Australia, have been long before I was born. Although they may have recently upgraded the ones more frequently travelled.
Eyre highway. I'm not sure what you mean by divided highway. It's got one lane in each direction. Because of the distance between both cities it doesn't get the same volume of traffic as other highways, so no need to make it wider at this stage. It's mainly used by roadtrains and tourists. Considering it takes about 28hrs to drive the distance non-stop, longer if you take a nap along the way. Majority of people will just take a plane, easier less hassle and if u get a good deal on flight, cheaper as well:)
A highway with one lane in each direction would not qualify as a major divided highway. I’m aware of the road network that connects many of Australia just major cities...but major, divided highways are significantly much rarer.
@@barbdunne HAHAHHAA Australia oldest continent?! Ur crazy! Hahahah nowhere near oldest, its the youngest continent of anything in history, oldest would be north America or Europe or Asia or Africa
I'm Australian and seriously considering moving to Canada, it has a similar points based immigration system. I'm just so mad with things going on over here feel like its a good place to be, what's the best part weather wise? Ontario? what do you do when its snowed in and you cant work how do you pay your bills?
The snow rarely gets so bad that they call kff work or school. Perhaps in Northern places, but not where most of the cities are. Chris exaggerates the downside of Canadian winters. Plus, Montreal, where he grew up,gets more snow that many other places in Canada.
If you are moving to canada id say move to British Columbia if you have. Good job it’s expensive like really expensive i live in ontario is okay its not that bad but i like the beach mountains vibes so im moving to BC
For best weather, it depends on what you want. If you want a 'real' summer (20-35 degree range) and don't mind cold-ish winters then southern or south west Ontario (Windsor to GTA area) is the best. I grew up in Windsor and now live in Toronto and I will say that the although the winters can suck some years, the other seasons are nice (fall is beautiful) and most years, our winters are rather mild (mostly above freezing during the day). Also we have arguably the best beaches in the country with a swim season of 4 to 5 months in southern lake Erie (Late May to Early Oct). The great lakes also look like seas and have waves so it's not too different from ocean swimming. Now if you just want no cold weather and you don't mind having a summer that feels like 3 months of extended spring and fall, then the west coast (Vancouver, Victoria) is for you. The weather there seldomly goes below freezing in winter (some palm trees grow there!) but the summer might be a bit underwhelming (temp range 10-25). I would say though, the mountains are beautiful and there's endless hikes and nature adventures to go on in the west coast BC area. There's also Ocean beaches near Vancouver but it is chillier water than the southern Great lakes and most months you'd need a wetsuit.
Canada is a beautiful country: the great white north! But Canadians are very “American-like” they have very similar accents and culturally are also very similar. Although Canadians are not America’s biggest fans, they can’t help but compare Canada to the US. Canadians always point out to their healthcare system as a major superiority they have over the US.
I’m 47 and Australian born and bred , I live half way between Brisbane and the Gold Coast in Queensland we drive down to Melbourne and various places in Victoria at least once a year sometimes more to visit relatives on my mother’s side, occasionally we’ll fly if it’s a wedding or a funeral and we can only stay a couple of days, some of my earliest childhood memories are of road trips to visit the rellies (relatives)at Christmas. And as far as highways connecting the capital cities are concerned l do believe all our capital cities are connected by the 2nd longest highway in the world at 14500km long, so kinda curious where you got the idea that you can’t drive where ever you want to drive to in this country, that’s just simply incorrect. And if ya want take a few days or more to get to Melbourne from Brisbane along the coast highway instead of the inland highway you would not believe the beauty of the places on beaches and campsites that you can find to stay overnight or longer. I don’t mean to sound like I’m roasting ya but what you said about driving had me sitting here shaking my head saying “what!”
Australia and Canada have something else in common as well which is much less desirable - namely two of the most unaffordable housing markets in the entire western world. ....and for the same reasons . Most of the land mass in both countries is uninhabitable. In Australia the vast wastelands are desert with almost no water supply. In Canada, the wastelands are permanently iced. By necessity, the majority of Australians have to live around the coastline. In Canada, most people live in a narrow ribbon along the US border. This situation results in chronically high levels of intense urbanisation in just a few cities......Toronto, Vancouver etc in Canada......Sydney and Melbourne in Australia. Neither country is like the US or the UK where they have major cities across the length and breadth of their nation . Australians and Canadians simply don't have many options in regard to where they can live and work. This places enormous pressure on the housing markets in the aforementioned cities. Housing costs are VERY high in Australia. In Canada they are even worse. Honestly don't know how anyone can afford to live on an average single income in Vancouver or Toronto.
@@ChrisVincelli, Haven't been back to either the US or Canada in a long time.....but spent a lot of time over there some years ago. I did a short work stint in LA back in the late '80s working for the local office of Australia's National Nine television network. But also travelled extensively around North America. I have a family connection to East York in Toronto. No doubt, all of the cities that I remember have changed a lot since the 1980s and '90s. As for the US, can honestly say that I have never had a seriously bad experience in America. The country has its problems, of course, just like Australia and Canada. But I always loved the more positive aspects of American culture such as their energy, enthusiasm and "can do" attitude. The downsides ? Obviously, their totally busted medical system compared to England, Canada and Australia and, perhaps, their gun culture. What started off as a fair and reasonable idea seems to have mutated into something utterly bizarre that's hard to understand for outsiders. Cost of living ? Again, been so long since I was in California, I'm no longer qualified to comment. Most things seem cheaper in CA compared to Australia . Whether or not people are going to be better off in Australia, Canada or America will depend almost entirely on their personal situation. I know Americans here in Australia who have zero interest in returning to the States. By the same token, I know Australians in America who tell me that they will never come back to the South Pacific.
@@ChrisVincelli Unlike canada, i believe it's Americans who build Australia so Australia and America is more or less the same..!! Correct me if am wrong 😅
I live in Outback Australia and that’s so cool that you used Uluru in your thumbnail!! 🙌🏾 In terms of travel Australians tend to travel to Asia bc its cheap to fly there ($99 Darwin to Bali) pre covid of course. Minimum wage here is $19.84 & Canada is like $11 too so thats another difference. And also I feel like Canada has not experienced the level of flies like we have over here (especially outback). Literally another level 😂😂 Loved the vid!
Im living in toronto canada and the minimum wage is different in every provinces, here in ontario its $14.25 , alberta $15, British Colombia $14.60, Quebec $13.10, Nunavut $16, and so on😊
Actually, the average minimum wage in Canada is closer to $14-$15/hr. And, from what I've heard and read, the cost of living and taxation is higher in Australia, so in terms of disposable income, the higher wages Nd cost of living probably evens the two out.
I don’t think you can generally saying which country of people are outgoing or quite, everyone is individual , introvert people and outgoing people all depends on their growing experience and their personal personalities
I have to choose between migrating to either Canada or Australia. This is a really helpful and informative video. As enticing as Canada sounds I don’t know if I could go from tropical Africa to that.
Australia has the great ocean road. Runs around the country ,its been around for decades. There are many inner highways that run up the eastern coast as well.
It's really nice of you for replying to every comment. Great video!! Subbed❣️❣️ Btw, which country do you recommend to migrate as with pr in mind, migrating after 12th for say BCA,BBA?.
@@ChrisVincelli It is a fine option but I would not recommend it for Indians. The wait for PR is ridiculous. Also the country is getting more and more divided into left and right. Gun violence is on the rise and getting more and more unpredictable. There are definitely some great cities for families and great jobs with great salaries but most big cities are not ideal for raising a family.
Also culturally Canada is similar to Australia than people think, they enjoy golf, soccer, tennis, rugby and cricket more than USA although cricket in Canada is not as popular as in Australia honestly. Also in terms of floor counting 🇨🇦 and 🇦🇺 use G 1 2 3 and 1 2 3 4 at the same time. Also their employment opportunities are more similar to each other compared to 🇺🇸 or 🇳🇿 or the rest of the 🗺 though Canada has somewhat more employment opportunities.
I agree. I think that Canada and Australia are more similar to each other, culturally, than either is to the US. They both have a Commonwealth heritage in their political/legal systems, large ethnically diverse major cities, and more of a social conscience than the US.
Travel time isn’t really a problem for Aussies or for the Kiwis either. I’m not saying that we like the long flights. We just that we don’t let it bother us as we simply know that it’s a given. Most Aussies (& Kiwis) have passports and it’s extremely popular (before Covid-19) for our teenagers to to travel overseas (usually Asia to start off with) in their “Gap” year. That’s a year they they take off from between high school and university. Whilst it’s not most of them, it’s still a very significant proportion of our teens. And almost all of us get to fly somewhere different at least once in our lives. Aussies love to travel. And the tyranny of distance is something that we have always have had to endure. So we do it without even thinking about it. Not a bad video. But you should do some more research on the topics you wish to raise first though, as your comments about our interstate road network us a little bit off. Driving on the east coast, and even to Adelaide isn’t all that hard. But to Perth or Darwin on the other hand, now that’s a different story all together as you can die if your not prepared properly. I.E. do your homework and plan your trips so you don’t drive at night as Kangaroos at night love to jump in front of car, and that’s very very bad, think of hitting a moose. Whilst Roos are indeed much smaller, they can still write of a car, and it’s passengers. Also have some spares (fan belts, water hoses etc) and PLENTY of water (much more than you would think obvious, and to be extra safe, double that amount).
@@ChrisVincelli Believe it or not Chris, you may be down on your home country, but a lot of Canadians and Australians, and dare I say, even a few Americans, might prefer the two Commonwealth countries because they both have modern, developed societies without the racial tensions, high crime and homeless rates, and dog eat dog mentality of the US.
I prefer Australia for a number of reasons: - I love cold weather but outdoor leisure activities in Canada is extremely limited because of the weather. You want to play golf in December? You either have to fly to Florida or wait until Spring. In Australia you can do that all year round. - Australians are more open and genuine than Canadians (generally speaking). Canadians sugarcoat things so they avoid upsetting people whereas Australians are more direct and tell it like it is which is what I prefer. - Food and drink is far, far better in Australia. Tim Hortons has nothing on Australian coffee. Fresh produce and farmers markets are more accessible in Australia. - Canadian phone plans are probably the worst and most overpriced I've ever experienced.
Are Australian major cities more developed than Canadian major cities, in terms of infrastructure and standard of living? Because I have seen city tours of both Canadian and Australian cities and there seemed to be a huge difference. Thank you.

@@ChrisVincelli Nothing in specific if I’m being honest with you. Diversity, nightlife, job opportunity. If I had to name some things. I’m quite adaptable.
Australia stretches from the equator to near Antarctica. This gives rise to incredible biodiversity. You can visit a topical rainforest, go surfing and snorkelling in warm waters, then go skiing on top of a snowy mountain. I don't know of any places other than Australia where you can go snorkelling and then go skiing without crossing an international border first.

I question you know very much about Australia if you don't know about Highway M1 which literally goes 14,500km around Australia. I've driven Melbourne to Perth - that's the diameter of the moon - four times. The Nullarbor plain has the longest straight stretch of road in the world at 187km. Our Canadian relatives told us to fly 400km from Toronto to Thunder Bay, don't hire a car and drive - which is an easy half day drive in Oz. In Canada distances tend to be marked in hours - like new Zealand due to less highways maajor A roads.. Canadian roads are much worse due to frost damage and obviously mountains and large bodies of water make extensive roadworks harder. There's extensive road networks in Australia. You can drive Melbourne to Uluru or to Darwin without leaving bitumen, and between all capitals. Our cousins from Ont. Canada called our roads billiard tables. In Canada we were told you fly in a big plane then a little plane then a tiny plane. The train service in Canada is cheaper than flying - just less convenient. Canada is way more expensive than Australia, sales tax is much higher and not shown on price tags unlike Australia. Fuel and cars are cheaper, but food is much dearer. You do not find the variety or quality of restaurant food available in Melbourne even in Vancouver or Toronto. It was bemusing to find many Australian baristas running 'Melbourne -style' cafes, even offering flat whites. Medicare does not cover you for as much and PBS prices for drugs are higher. Personal taxation seems lower but social services like unemployment not so comprehensive. Tipping is more prevalent in Canada presumably due to a lower minimum wage. Canada is more progressive in some ways with same sex marriage and marijuana both being legalised much sooner. In other ways - the dual language issue - not so much. Indigenous affairs on the surface Canada is ahead with First Nations treaties but it seems the same issues around dispossession and institutional abuse occurred. I'd happily live in Canada I'm the summer. Winter - not so much. It isn't only the cold, but travel restrictions, outdoor occupations like builders being restricted to five months and having to work six day, twelve or fourteen hour days a week.
I live in Canada. My brother just moved to Australia. Been to Australia a couple times. Both counties have their pros and cons. Canada is more friendly towards new immigrants and is more multicultural overall. Australia is far more beautiful and has better weather. Quality of life is similar. It comes down to preference.

I'm so sorry for Canada. Most things about a good Canada are not true, Including clean cities - beaches, and forests. It's a big lie. The first time I arrived in Vancouver in 2018, I was shocked. As soon as I left the airport door, I saw tissue, disposable glasses, and other garbage left in the city. The further I went, the more I saw them. Before I moved to Canada, I lived in Georgia, Armenia, Turkey, Serbia, The United States, and for a short time in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Netherland, Germany, and England, but I have never seen the amount of garbage that people leave in different Canadian cities. Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and Quebec are no less than Vancouver. Canadian and Canada Governments don't care about this tragedy. I think everything that says about Canada as a clean and powerful culture is not true. You don't need to travel to Canada to see this. Just watch some videos about walking in downtown Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and Quebec. You will find the truth. Impossible for you to walk in a Canadian city and you don't see the dark side of that. Everywhere you will see garbage. You will never see this in Europe, Australia, the United States, Japan, and Korea. This amount of waste is not even seen in Malaysian, Indonesian, or Thailand cities. It is impossible for you to use public transport and not see a lot of garbage at stations or on the route. You will be surprised to find a lot of garbage even in the woods - by the rivers and on the beaches in Canada. I wish the Canadians woke up and had no enmity with their country.
@@ChrisVincelli Hello, my dear friend. in my experience, I think Canadians don't care about their around. they quickly close their eyes on everything. I think they don't participate in their society to change the wrong things. after 5 years I see the most trash thrown out by the non-immigrants. the dirtiest neighborhoods in Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Edmonton, Regina, Calgary, Saskatoon, and Winnipeg are Canadian neighborhoods but in Australia, New Zealand, the US, and Europe are completely contrary.
@@ChrisVincelli Have a 'Clean Up Canada' day once a year. That's what we do in Australia. We also are very aware and responsible in disposing of our personal rubbish when in public. On the home front we have four rubbish bins - three for recycling of 1) compost material, 2) glass, and 3)paper, hard plastic and metal-type products and 4) a normal rubbish bin, which hardly gets used. (My son-in-law has just invented a machine to recycle soft plastics and is in negotiation with supermarkets.)There are also transition drop-off stations for other products to take, to break down and recycle components. Taking our rubbish to a tip incurs big expenses so we are mindful of the negative of that. Also charities will collect large, useful items no longer wanted, even mattresses in reasonable condition which they steam clean. Also, Aussies will leave unwanted items in good condition on the nature strip /verge in front of the house for anyone to take for free. We have a bush/forest 20 acre block in the country and are fitting out containers as our weekend accommodation on it with much of that. I saw a video on YT of an immigrant from Europe who furnished his apartment from roadside finds. He had decorating talent and it looked amazing !
Before you do video like this please do some research. All Australian cities are connected with highways. I agree with you interm of geography Canada has abit more, but Australia geography is much more than what you discuss in the video, there are plenty of beautiful landscapes around the country. The Whitsunday Islands and lots of tropical rainforest in Queensland and other part of Australia, the pink lake in Western Australia. Blue and Snowy mountains in new south Wales. The rocky mountain and Alps located in Victoria and new south Wales. Snow also fall in p part of Australia (perisher for example in Victoria). Interm of sports Australia out perform Canada. Australian play Rugby, Aussie rules (AFL), Cricket and many more that they dominate. As you mentioned, Canada is only known for ice hockey. The rest they either play them for fun or they just participate in them. In regards to travel. I guess Canada has advantages but going to the USA feel like going to different regions in Canada because both countries are similar interm of infrastructure, lifestyles and culture. Just like Australia and new Zealand. Canada has the Caribbean and Europe while Australia has the oceanic and Asia. Even better countries with unique culture like China, Japan, Singapore, India and UAE etc.

Both countries are uniquely fantastic with their truly high standars of living, advanced and developed economy and pretty prosperous lifestyle but anyway Australia has always been one of my toppest favourite destination to work and live because of its amazing weather, sunshine and more possibility of outdoor activities. The only negative side of Australia seems dangerous wildlife which really intimidates me ;) All in all, Australia is the best one.

Whta is this issue with Australian wildlife? Lol. It's a non-issue. Canada has grizzly bears, black bears, polar bears, wolves, wolverines, mountain lions...
The idea of Australia's 'dangerous wildlife' is totally out of proportion. The only dangerous 'I'm going to deliberately go after you' animal in Oz is the crocodile which lives in the far northern tropical regions mainly and in/near water. Australia does not have bears, moose, large, wild cats, and wolves as in Canada.

Both countries are similar interms of quality of cities and infrastructure. Funny i found people in toronto and montreal to be unfriendly like i do in sydney but other cities like calgary and edmonton to be more friendly like melboourne. To me Canadian's (specifically anglo) are generally more polite nicer and talkative with strangers which is what I liked the most aboot canada. To me its geography, climate and food where i see the most difference. If you like the ocean, beaches and all year nice climate Australia is way better. But if you like mountains, lakes and snow canada is the place to be. As for the quality of food and coffee, Australia is not just way better than Canada it has the best multicultural cuisine in the world. The main reason is Australia can easily grow Mediterranean produce in the south due to its Mediterranean climate in the south and asian produce in the north due to its tropical weather. The quality of dairy, meat, fish and produce in Australia is second to none because of the strict regulation that are in place plus thankfully are still not GM food like in north America. So almost everything here pretty much tastes like it should. Western, cafes, continental, Chinese, italian, Greek, middle Eastern, indian, Thai, Vietnamese, japanese etc food tastes as good if not better than the native country because of the high quality of produce and ingredients.
@@ChrisVincelli personally I like the moderate climate of south west and southeast Australia which is kind of like California. @@ChrisVincelli Canadians are just treated with a lot of respect all through their lives by everyone. The government respects us regardless of political parties or whoever is in charge. We have a lot more freedoms regarding what we can do and how we can make our own decisions. Canadians also have more of a British influence so we just generally are respectful and polite to each other much like Brits are. The US has a history full of war and still does. Canada is a newer country where people didn't have to fight for anything. Canada respects the Indigenous population, the Francophone population and the immigrant population. People don't feel as misrepresented or discriminated. The US is very much a place where once you move there you learn English and try your hardest to "act American" while in Canada people are free to be themselves. Canadians have a generally peaceful history so we want to keep that while Americans are used to war and conflict. Also the heat makes people kind of crazy which also applies to Australia.
@@ChrisVincelli - I know exactly why. Canada is a baby brother of the US. Americans are seen as loud, obnoxious etc. Australians are also the big dogs in their region of the world, so have more of an arrogance. A comparison would be New Zealand, which is the baby brother of Australia. You'll find most Kiwi's are more reserved and polite compared to Australians. This is all to say, they Canada and NZ are more humble. Just like you could say Scots are more humble than the English.
Why are all you people so negative about Australia . No country is perfect . People from overseas love to rubbish Australia, why because it is different. You all better go and have geography books out and then you will learn how diverse Australia is before making a comment .

Just because he is bashing Australia, you don't have to bash Europe and America as well. Have you ever been to Europe? It's so freaking diverse. And most capitals have at least 4 million inhabitants. You can do so many things there. If you're not a city person you can travel to Southern Germany, Switzerland or Northern Italy and you have one of the most beautiful scenery there and the clearest water. In Switzerland, you can drink water from a fountain ⛲and hands down the US is the most diverse country in the world landscape-wise. This doesn't mean I don't like Australia. I want to visit it so badly, too.
Let's face it the biggest difference between the two countries is that Australia has extremely good looking people who are very modest and humble .we can brew better beer than any canadanad that's all that matters really .
Canada has many very attractive people too. And, unless you've tasted the wide variety if beers available in Canada, you're just talking out of your azz on that one.

What do you love most about Australia?
Melbourne will for sure be cheaper than Toronto. Toronto is very expensive. I would say Melbourne and Montreal would be a better comparison if you are looking at lifestyle, culture, cost of living etc. Infrastructure is better in Aus generally because it doesn't have to deal with the weather impacting infrastructure and construction efficiency. Australians are not friendlier. They would maybe be on par. Australia has a different quality of life, which can be interpreted as better potentially.
Thanks for ur thoughts on both places! That's interesting that wages are higher in Melbourne but cost of living is higher in Toronto

I thought it was the opposite.
Thank you for this video. Just got accepted to do an exchange from Canada to Melbourne Australia in 2023. So excited!
How are you doing there? Any update?

Best of luck for the move.

i like how on the west coast you have mountains, rain forest and beautiful beaches and vancouver island.
australia too is incredibly diverse in terms of geography. its crazy how the north end of Australia is stinkingly hot and humid, while at the same time, its snowing in southern regions like tasmania
Thanks for this! How do you like living in Australia, overall?
which city gets cold enough to layer clothes? and does it last all year long except for summer or just for the winter
Melbourne you need layered clothes but just lasts autumn and winter, Tasmania is the coldest State next stop is Antarctica
where I live in Central NSW we get horrific frosts for about 4 months of the year. We also have great snow fields in Australia
It seems warmer in Vancouver then. Most of the Canadian homes are well heated with radiant heat or a heat pump.
Thanks for the comment!
Pretty accurate, I'm from Australia and yes Canada definitely has better mountains. Mind u i'll always have a soft spot for the aussie Blue Mountains. Also, there are highways connecting all major cities in Australia, have been long before I was born. Although they may have recently upgraded the ones more frequently travelled.
there isn’t a major divided highway linking Adelaide to Perth, is there?

Why are you mad? Surprise, Canada is not doing better. I moved the way around and, let me tell you, same issues and same advantages!
They are right to point that out it is a big concern.

Autumn is the best with warm, crispy, sunny days without the sting of that summer sun.

I think Australia is better than Canada when it comes to quality of life
Australia and Canada have something else in common as well which is much less desirable - namely two of the most unaffordable housing markets in the entire western world. ....and for the same reasons .
What do you think of America, though?
Oh wow so true about the flies, there are so many! Totally forgot!!! Have you been to Canada?
Im living in toronto canada and the minimum wage is different in every provinces, here in ontario its $14.25 , alberta $15, British Colombia $14.60, Quebec $13.10, Nunavut $16, and so on😊
Actually, the average minimum wage in Canada is closer to $14-$15/hr. And, from what I've heard and read, the cost of living and taxation is higher in Australia, so in terms of disposable income, the higher wages Nd cost of living probably evens the two out.
Good luck

Why don't you consider living in America?
@@ChrisVincelli Why?
@@ChrisVincelli Believe it or not Chris, you may be down on your home country, but a lot of Canadians and Australians, and dare I say, even a few Americans, might prefer the two Commonwealth countries because they both have modern, developed societies without the racial tensions, high crime and homeless rates, and dog eat dog mentality of the US.
@Itswhatcatsdo I highly doubt that. Have any official statistical evidence to support that?
I prefer Australia for a number of reasons:
- I love cold weather but outdoor leisure activities in Canada is extremely limited because of the weather.

You call that a highway?

@@ChrisVincelli Have a 'Clean Up Canada' day once a year. That's what we do in Australia. We also are very aware and responsible in disposing of our personal rubbish when in public. (My son-in-law has just invented a machine to recycle soft plastics and is in negotiation with supermarkets.)There are also transition drop-off stations for other products to take, to break down and recycle components. Taking our rubbish to a tip incurs big expenses so we are mindful of the negative of that. Also, Aussies will leave unwanted items in good condition on the nature strip /verge in front of the house for anyone to take for free. I think in many ways Australia is better except for one thing, may not bother most people but the bugs/spiders in Australia are pretty horrific.
they're huge!! that and other insects/animals. No?

I live in Australia the best country in the world
Way Higher taxes in Australia , you better off living in Canada
After I finish secondary school I want to travel to both of them and I would love to live in one of them when I’m older. I love hot weather but yet I’ve always wanted to go skiing.
( Irish btw ) ☘️
Both countries are great! I’m sure you would love either. By the way… I happen to think that America is the best though!
@Jesse yeh I’ve been thinking about it since I first commented and I’ve been researching and I am honestly in love with Canada. I’ve still got a few years till I finish school but I can’t wait for then.
Australia has its ski fields. A lot of ski field workers work in both countries although I don't know why. living for 5 years in perpetual winter?.
You can ski in Australia, or nip over to New Zealand.
@Jesse lots of Irish in Australia too.
I do not even understand why people care about geography and Mountains as to where to settle.
What do you mean by that? Care to elaborate?
Not so similar? Almost identical! Australia is just Canada with some signs reversed. +40 Celsius instead of - 30 Celsius. Red dirt instead of snow.
Winter in Australia is 6 weeks usually and it only snows in Canberra and Hobart. Summer can be 6 baking months - and no that is not enjoyable.
You're funny.
Which country is better for nurses to settle down?
I have no idea...but I typically advise against Canada.
I know a lot of Canadian nurses come to Australia to work. better working environment and money. And more opportunities
Australia. For an idea on pay and conditions look at seek.com.au, healthcareaustralia.com.au, or nursingjobs.com.au
Also ensure your qualifications apply in Australia.

Rugby league is the most popular sport in New South Wales and Queensland which account for over 50% of the population. AFL only appears popular because Victorians won't shut up about it.
Yeah that's what I've been told.
An NRL fan, but AFL is more widely played at both ground roots and professional level.
Love Canada greatest country in the world 🇨🇦 and I love australia 🇦🇺
Hear! Hear! Both great countries, but Canada's the best. 🇨🇦🇦🇺
@@terryomalley1974 Its not. Australia is better
I’ve been to Canada and loved it and felt right at home and enjoy the differences. AFL is King in Australia as much as it annoys NSW & QLD. I think your coverage of the two countries is one of THE most accurate I have ever seen on TH-cam. Our nation’s are sister nation’s as is the US even if they had a revolution. Well done mate! 😊👍🏻
What do you love most about Canada?
Canada doesn't have federal sales tax= middle class much better off in Canada
It does have a federal sales tax.
No sales tax in Alberta!
No it isn't, Australia has much better middle class wages, retirement is much better,

@@coopsnz1 well Canada's weather sucks
2:13-2:30 I have never heard anything more true about Canadians.
Hahaha and why do you think that is?
I live in canada montreal . In 3 years i will be citizen. But your videos made me soooo depressed. You make negatifs comments about canada but in live here and I MUST LIVE HERE . i had only one chance it was canada. I coculdnt go to europe:( and usa . The country is not diverse? Are you for real? Canada is the same all over, Pine trees all over the place, no tropical regions, no deserts, no open fields. Canada is boring geographically, looks like Europe. Again you don't have a clue, so biased about Canada as with you're blurb about the US.
Hahahaha really?
You must be kidding lol
Hahahahahahaha!! Nice one, Tom.
Canada has many very attractive people too. And, unless you've tasted the wide variety if beers available in Canada, you're just talking out of your azz on that one.
