I just noticed I said Exidy Clowns 0:29 in. I meant Exidy Circus. I've also come to realize I need special bulbs for the flashing. I have some on the way now.
sir, i just discovered your channel and i watched every single video one after the other. great stuff! i loved the fact that you show the game, describe the game and play it! great amazing collection of b/w games. really cool! i hope thay are all still up and running!
Played this a couple of times in the local shopping center in Newcastle Australia. By then it was already an old game, but boy was it fun. Unfortunately it wasn't that popular and didn't stay for long, but they did replace it with another classic game, Atari's Stunt Cycle. Looking back I think the operator only had the older games, we even scored a few elecro mechanical games for a while that were probably ten or fifteen years old at that point. Anyway, love the channel and really appreciate you documenting these classics. I hope you''ll come back to your channel one day and let us know what you've been up to. All the best. Dan
The lamps on the marquee (CIRCUS) are supplied with 6v,there is no circuitry to make them blink. If you want them to blink just install 455 lamps instead of the 44 or 47 lamps that are installed. (455 lamps use the same type base and voltage , but are automatic blinking bulbs)
There was an arcade I used to frequent where the owner had the sound on the deeper bounce sound turned way up and you could hear that above the general noise of all the other games... :)
Welcome back! As always interesting video. You're like the only person on youtube who goes into such detail with these old games The cheap death you were talking about actually happens during demo play at 3:04 noticed it before you even mentioned it :D Also I noticed that the real thing sounds way better than on emulator Gun Fight from 1975 is usually credited for having first music in video game, it plays the same melody as in this game when you die
Thanks it's good to be back and it's nice to hear people find them informative. That's a big reason I started doing them. On the music topic, you may be thinking of Gun Fight's successor Boot Hill in 1977. Gun Fight doesn't have any music just the gun shot and player hit sounds.
Hi! As of September 2020, didja ever get the blinking fixed? I’m binge watching all your videos. I’m impressed that they could create such sounds with so little memory!
I did get them flashing. I found out soon after that the bulbs should have been bulb type 455 flashers. Someone replaced them with LEDs. Its flashing now and looks good
Jeenkz K LEDs do run cooler and that does help save the artwork. I did buy the old style flasher bulbs though and put them in the game so it has the original look to it. There are LED flashers that I could have used but they are set to flash at set time interval and I wanted the flash to be random like what happens in the older style bulbs. Thanks for watching my videos too. Hope you found them interesting.
Weird how atari makes breakout then midway and exidy make two near identical games about clowns (I don’t know who copied who) and then atari releases circus atari and rips them off circle of plagiarism
Eventually Atari would release this for the VCS/2600 as "Circus Atari".

Thanks for putting up a new video, I love the old B&W games, you’ve got a great collection! Looking forward to you next video :)
Thank you. I guess it pretty obvious I'm a fan of the black and whites too. They seem to be getting more appreciation now too which is cool.

Thanks. After a little more research I did learn about the 455 bulbs. I'm happy to report the marquee is now blinking.

Cool game in 2020. If you're still alive, do a few more.

blinddog44 yeah LEDs have solved a lot of problems in arcade machines nowadays . I imagine it relieves the power supply dramatically!
