I've been looking at the Moog dfam for that kind of percussion work but I got the monologue instead and now looking into it I'm convinced that the monologue is more powerful ! Amazing machine
Yeah the Monologue has it's own advantages against DFAM, however in my opinion DFAM is better if you are looking for JUST percussive sequences. And Moog's filters are a bit higher class than the Monologue, however Moog's are pricey of course. You get class A filters but for too much money I think. Monologue on the other hand is VERY capable and versatile, I have it since it was out and encountered with and experienced with seriously unique sounds over time.
Oscillator Sink does another excellent tutorial on drum and percussion sounds th-cam.com/video/f48mARDtAq4/w-d-xo.html The monologue does some amazing tricks with it' 4 motion control tracks. th-cam.com/video/PaAkXoPSzSM/w-d-xo.html The Monologue is a hidden beast.
Thanks for the tip!! I've been more than happy with my Monologue. I bought a second Monologue just so i can combine one Monologue and the Volca Kick to make one drum machine and the second monologue will be for basslines and other things and then i use the Minilogue for leads.
Tarık Keskin yeah that’s exactly what I was referring to. Very interesting sound. Pad/Strings treated with some classy vocoder I guess. Gonna have to experiment with some samples 🖖 cheers
Best monosynth ever!!!!!!!
This is the first time I have ever liked the sound of analogue synth percussion
Sounds amazing
You can really squeeze some Huge potential out of this synth, that sequencer is simply incredible.
Simple idea and brilliant results. The monologue seems to be a very fun little box. 🙂
Thanks! It is indeed, totally analog :).
You sold me
Bought this today. It will be here tomorrow. Goodbye world, it's been great.
Massive thanks to you man. Your vids swung it for me..
It's very nice to hear those, you are welcome. I hope you get the most out of it ! Happy Monologging...

I have both, but I'm selling the DFAM because the Monologue is everything I wanted the DFAM to be and more...
I was thinking of selling my Monologue until I saw this video, It's really cool what you able to get out of this synth!
Awesome!!!
Look out DFAM! The artist obviously understands the mechanics. KORG please make a Monologue DRUM MACHINE !!!
I’ve got a couple of weeks off work, gonna get some rhythmic patches like theses before I go back!!!

Monologue is an interesting drum machine !!!
i was between minilogue and monologue..after this video i am going with the monologue!!
I honestly think that Monologue has more character. It is more unique I think.
Man, this is dope!
yo!
Fantastic sounds!😜
Amazing.
2:35 is masterly, m8.
Great Work! :-)
excellent!
On payday I'm buying one!
Please tell Korg about that :)
you should upload a patch of this program
Genius!!
I love mine
Hey thanks man.
Hey, question. How do you program each step indivudually? I mean exact cutoff value for example
Hey! Do you think it's possible to do these bleep bloop sequences on the Minilogue?
Yes of course. It has a monophonic mode.
Does the monologue have stereo reverb of some sort? Or is this reverb that I hear from something else in the chain?
Hi there! Nice work. Do you mind me asking what did you use to create those dreamy Silent Hill like chords? Awesome sound 👍
Hey thanks. Which part are you refering to? Background sounds are edited samples from songs.
Tarık Keskin yeah that’s exactly what I was referring to. Very interesting sound. Pad/Strings treated with some classy vocoder I guess. Gonna have to experiment with some samples 🖖 cheers
@@hubadj Yeah exactly, samples juiced with reverb and chorus you know, and you can also modify the speed which is interesting.
I love it. If possible could you give me step by step instructions on how to do the settings for those sounds?
Yeah thanks, I am in the process of making a tutorial video like that, it will be online soon, stay tuned please !
And here it is: th-cam.com/video/8pGK7gYYFYU/w-d-xo.html
@@tarikkeskin, inspiring, thank you!
Is all the sound coming out of your monologue you said something about background samples
Percussive sounds come from the Monologue. Lush sounds (pads) are samples from various things.
Great! Do you control the background sound with your volca?
Thanks. Nope, they are samples. Please view video description to see where they are from.
@@tarikkeskin yes i read that you used samples. Did you play the samples one a pc and mixed it with the monolouge output on a audio mixer?
@@5059markus Yeah kind of, I mixed them in Presonus Studio One, the DAW.
