Great White Shark - La Jolla, CA - August 1, 2017

Got to see a 12-14 foot great white shark kill a sea lion and motored over to the scene of the hunt to get a closer look. It happened on the southern edge of the canyon in roughly 750 feet of water about 3 miles out from La Jolla cove.

The shark circled it's kill, to ward off anything from taking it's meal. Luckily the shark didn't view you as a threat to the meal.

Great whites circle their pinneped kill waiting for it to bleed to death or become incapacitated, because seals have big teeth and claws. No reason to rush to eat.

Yeah feel free to use the footage, sorry the footage is so crappy - I filmed with my phone and it's hard to see through the glare. I had polarized sunglasses on and could see a lot more.
