So this wavemaster was my first automatic watch. I chose to go without the date complication, and I'm really glad I did because its the absolute easiest watch to set! I have about 20 automatics now and this one is still on my wrist once a week. I think your complaints are all valid about the caseback and bracelet being a bit abrasive. And I would also really prefer the bracelet to taper. I put it on alot of different silicone straps and I like that option but I ended up putting it back on the engineer even though I think there is room for improvement there. Great review, spot on with my experience too.

I took a little while to add my review I’ve been really loving this watch I have a lot of watches in my rotation but it’s been on my wrist quite a bit . I immediately changed the Rubber strap which came with it from Amazon I put on an Oyster and it beautiful eventually I’ll add an engineer great value for the money I paid $299 the price must have jumped up since your original review still a great watch for even that price

I just bought the green dial date version. Initial impressions are it’s a wonderful watch. Such great details throughout, and in the light and sun, that wave dial is amazing. It is a heavy watch, but conversely from pretty much every review I’ve watched, I think the weight gives it a really solid feel, that it’s well put together and will certainly take some abuse without any detrimental effects.
I even like the wave design on the Phoibos better than the Omega Seamaster. Good point about the weight, it definitely feels solid!
Try the Phoibos Eagle Ray 300m diver, tapering braclet, very nice watch..

Re putting it on.
Try this. Rotate it so the watch body is inside your wrist. Any watch that's sized a little neat can be put on this way. Then turn it back and apply the clasp.

Great review. You think this watch would hold up to actual scuba diving? I’m always skeptical of water resistance ratings.
Thank you! Yes you should be safe wearing it scuba diving. It's not ISO certified, but with sapphire, a screw down crown, and a screw down case back, it's pretty watertight. Especially if you're only recreationally diving.

I resized the bracelet with a very small screwdriver, they should be screw pins
You can get a kit off Amazon for very cheap, comes with all the tools and plenty of tutorials on TH-cam on how to do it

but tell me this, i dont see an octopus on the logo i see a kind of balinese mask... with eyes and teeth... can you see it or is it just me?
if the eyes of the mask are where the middle tentacles are, then yes I can and now I can't unsee it ! Let me know how you like the watch if you end up getting it, it's thick and heavy but I'm still enjoying it a lot 🐙
I wish they made a midsize! I'm thinking it may be too big for a 6ish inch wrist. SKX007 barely fits hehe.
It's technically smaller than the SKX at 42mm but it is so thick and chunky that it feels way bigger. I have a 7 1/4" wrist and the Phoibos weighs 208g

Apart from the date any difference on the wavemaster that doesn’t have the date.
Everything should be the same except the no date version uses an NH38 movement and the date version uses an NH35
Love this watch, I enjoy to look at the time, I've bought it in blue color, altho yours look better.

I think I see what you mean, in the wave design? I just tried looking again and nothing's visible to the naked eye. Here's to hoping it's a trick of the light or I just can't keep my crystals clean. Otherwise we'll call them wave creatures.

Ditch the bracelet and get it on some Natos. I did and never looked back. Awesome watch for the money.

Well I like the full width bracelet. Tapered are so pedestrian. Synergy is about the sum of the whole being greater than the parts. Synergistically speaking I think they nailed it. Big watch, big band no trying to hide the fact. I think it works except the 5 link style of it isn't to my taste. It wants one of those Strapcode retro bracelets on it.
