I recently had a conversation at work about what happens after death and insurance, and it’s actually scary how many people don’t have a clue and base their ‘knowledge’ on ‘what they’ve heard’ The idea of the book, just like a letter of wishes is a great idea, but in reality, it isn’t a legally binding document, like a will is and therefore your wishes are open to being altered if anyone should see fit. It’s the same as people assuming that if one parent dies, the other parent automatically gets custody of the child, but that doesn’t always happen and in many cases the child becomes the responsibility of the court until they decide where the child is best placed. Likewise, there are an increasing number of mortgage providers in recent years who make it a precondition of having a mortgage that you have life insurance. So whilst I totally agree with what you’re saying about getting insurance and getting your life in order whilst we’re still here, people also need to do some real research because when they do die they won’t realise that they’ve actually left the family with problems.
The other thing to know is that if you leave money or are left money in a will then nobody actually receives a penny until all of the deceaseds estate has been properly dealt with and any unpaid bills or debts are settled. Then and only then will any money be given to the intended recipient. So in Dizzle’s situation if the father had left money, the susu should’ve been paid along with any other debts or outstanding bills before the rest of the money was dished out.
It's not just finance but also business mindsets are needed for the community to build the resources we are lacking, that the rest of the community can then rely on. Peace and blessings on both of you and your fam
The difference between black businesses and others like Jewish and Asian businesses is a cultural one. Trade is a big part of Asian and Jewish culture, when anybody thinks about black culture, the first thing people think of is music. Who runs the music industry? On top of that, what messages are being perpetuated in black music?
But let's be real a lot of us don't know the fact that C6 is talking and are like dizzle..including me till few years back.... YES thank you for this chat cuz it's so needed 💯💯👏🏾👏🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

Insurance isn’t cheap man! A lot of people ‘self insure’ these days. All the money that you’re paying in insurance, if you save that money yourself, you’ll be way better off. Cover your own backside! Insurance companies are a business. They don’t do it out of the goodness of their heart.
