I got the 4 gig ram with the 64GB storage version recently and the sound quality in my Mitsubishi (that has its own amp) is actually clear and strong with Bluetooth, and incredible with USB FLACS. Totally makes me realize my 7 speakers system are decent. I am impressed. It was 200 USD. I cant wait to get one in my 95 AERO that has the top SAAB radio system now dated but quality.
Good to see you back! I just replaced the Eonon Q040 pro for the newer UA13 in my 2008 Saab 9-3. But, I just noticed that both units add some sort of subtle “static/ground” noise when there is nothing playing or the volume is all the way down. I used the same loom kit you are using. Just wondering if you are experiencing that in your Saab. I got a new Sony stereo to test and I’m getting the same, so it is not necessarily the android unit.

It's not wireless and will like to buy an AI Box to make it wireless and get the other benefits this kind of box offers. Do you know if there is a AI Box for the aftermarket Android head units or is just that I need to download a software to be able to connect it to my unit. Noob question here: How old is an Android version on a head unit if you only use it for local music, video and FM radio? Does an Android OS run normally in this context if it's, lets say, 6 versions behind or more?
I would like to see a little more about the audio performance of these units, primarily the pre-out specs. How many volts? The codec of the internal DAC , that kind of thing... You can get a pretty nice 4ch amp for under $100.
Hi, I was wondering where did you go as last video was few months ago. Hopefully you can save me. I'm trying to find most suitable head unit for my car. I already have some old freakin Kenwood from 2013 with resistive touch screen...you know the pain. I need a 2DIN 7 inch size android HU. These parameters are solid. Then it would be probably fine to have Android 13 and at least 4 GB of RAM. I think that should be enough. As my car doesn't have multifunction on steering I would also like to have physical volume knob. With these criteria it seems like impossible to find anything on the market. I was able to find following HU Eonon UA13 - but it has only 2 GB of RAM Xtrons TIA723LS - 4 GB of RAM, missing knob trons TIQ722P - 8 GB of RAM and again missing knob The knob is quite a huge plus for me but also 2 GB of RAM is bit down. I think it wouldn't be enough. Xtrons seems like solid option. Even the 4 GB version should be enough for me. What are your thoughts? Do know about similar head unit that would meet all the criteria?
I love these widgets that can contain most of the applications in the Home Screen, like this one that could support Tlink (so you can have CarPlay/AA in the Home Screen widget). Is there any launcher in any FYT head unit that is possible to use carlink (same as Tlink but for FYT units) in the Home Screen widget? Any link to a video or product? Thanks
Glad to see you are back LOL I have been trying to get people to install the Eonon UA12S Plus in my car, yet they keep telling me that the DSP chip on it and other Chinese units aren't up to snuff compared to a Kenwood or a Sony. Is that true? Also, since you have been gone, are there any other in-head units that have released that are more powerful than said Eonon?
The DSP chip in premium Android units are exceptionally good. The built in amplifiers can't output as much as some of the higher end big brand Japanese units (Sony, Kenwood ect) but unless you're driving massive aftermarket speakers without an aftermarket amp, that will make no difference. The Eonon is great. The top Android head unit for audio quality that I have tested is Joying. But then you have Teyes , and at the moment, I have a premium Dasaita on my desk which sounds amazing, this is the next video

Hey mate i had bad experience in past with hissing at low levels on my joying headunit. Just discovered using coaxial over rca outputs completely sorted it. My question is , if i were to buy a desktop dac and connect this via usb from head unit to dac to my dsp. Would i still be able to use features like radio etc. not to keane on blowing 150 bucks upwards if it doesent work. The hissing has been my only gripe and i even removed unit. Now joying in my camper and with the coaxial connection over rca the hissing is completely removed.

I have an issue with a 2GB ram unit where the Navigation on Android Auto is really low and the music is nice and loud. Trying to fix it like normal by changing the volume while directions are being spoken just changes the whole unit's volume instead of just the navigation volume. Is there a way to make the spoken volume louder on these units? I have two that has the same issue.

The problem with flip outs is that they are generally shockingly bad. I've reviewed a couple, always on the budget side of things. I'll see if there is something new for an upcoming video, but don't expect a top 10 :) You're better off getting a floating screen

Also would love to see more reviews of the built in AI commands like "call wife", "find x destination" and "text to x with message". For safety reasons I usually have AI read text messages back to me while driving rather than browsing through them. My priorities are safety features over finding the prettiest radio app.
The 7870 I am definitely interested in and will be reviewed as soon as possible. So far I haven't been impressed with the AI stuff, but I take your point and will see what I can do

Its a rebranded Topway unit. To me and spec wise and price its very likely a TS18 unit. Uis8581 and 2gb ram. It runs android 10. Would be better just flashing a stock ts18 file. They do keep these uodated.
Please review the Eanon UA13. The android 13 unit runs 4 core rockchip processor, that they claim is faster than the 8 core android 10 unit. Please benchmark these units please.

It's going to be slow and laggy and not sound very good. Unfortunately the cheap android head units (looks like this one was under $100 from googling it) have a really slow interface and response time, the touch screens aren't great, internal amp lacks power and many people report things like freezing, random resetting, and apps not opening. Honestly any android head units under about $200 sacrifice alot of usability and quality to jam pack a bunch of features that will rarely get used. I mean think about it any brand name stereo with wireless connect is minimum $500 so they are cutting alot to do it for under $100.

All working ok, I happy with it. Price on Ali was,$336, but had a coupon - 43 and - 52 for tax that the post office never asked for, so got it for $209 in i 2 weeks. Mostly wanted it for navigation, I search places on my phone, Google maps, put markings, starred, when in car I find them there too and can just easy start navigate. Radio app so so, installed another.

Code is 8888. It some setting to change the doors, but I don't remember what the name is. But I did change it and it show wrong doors, so I had to change it back.

You could get an SBC with 8gb of ram and a better CPU, then buy the monitor and GPS seperatly, and not be locked into some Chinese company's echosystem.
I mean there is no eco system. It's a flavour of open source Android. The other thing is that there is much more to a head unit then just the hardware specs and OS. You also need an amplifier and decent DSP chip for audio, then an FM tuner for the radio and various other devices to make use of the cameras that cars tend to have. Then you need to build a form factor that can be installed. That being said, I am going to do a video on exactly what you're talking about at some point in the future because it will be cool

Yeah, they're the most basic of features so you won't have any issues there

You had problems with SWC in previous Eonon x20.

The performance increase over the 7862s would be interesting aswell as if it’s stable or not. I’ve heard of quite a few bugs

You should check out the new diamond 2k units. Brilliant spec for the money, a couple of niggly issues with it but quite a unique form factor.

Carplay needs nothing except a decent WiFi connection.
