    74x2 is 148 😂
    The way I always do it, like for that which has 2, I find the center of 224 and then I pull off of that to the center of each vent.
    But here in Florida the plan shows where the vents go (roughly) so I just find the nearest trusses and put it there between them so I put less blocking

    show us how you straighten the gable and if you straighten/plumb it first so you can nail as you go or if you leave if unnailed and straighten at the end. Argued with plenty of guys about the best way to do this

    • @TR-rn3pd
      @TR-rn3pd 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I like to plumb the gable first. Then do the leave off end sheets, snap line down the king truss and push or pull to line trick. As long as it’s plumb and straight at the end is all that matters. Same I wasted lots time arguing about it. Not going to do it anymore. You go do it your way and I’ll do it mine.

    • @framingbeast720
      @framingbeast720  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Quick tip if its a full gable roof ( less common these days) the best and most accurate way to get your gable laser straight is to level the middle with a brace then when you sheath run the sheets long and chalk a line from bottom to top , cut sheathing then bring the fascia flush with the line

  • @Frank5
    @Frank5 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Instead of a whole bunch of separate vents, why don’t you use a continuous rolled ridge-vent at the peak? You just leave a plywood gap at the ridge pole and then the shingle installer rolls the fiber out and then they put the asphalt shingles over it to create a continuous vent at the top. It looks a lot nicer than scattering ugly vents everywhere

    • @timbibin1301
      @timbibin1301 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I'm a roofer, and Ridge vent is the new way to go.. However, you can only use ridge vent if the house has soffit vents.. That way you'll have air intake from the soffit vents, and it can exhaust out of the ridge
