The heart beat is a relative measure, individual to a person. It isn’t a metric you can use to compare fitness between athletes. . Some people have a lower heartbeat, but pump more volume of blood with each beat. Others are the opposite of the spectrum. The watts are what you need to watch.
@@slickheisenberg8208 If we're running the same pace and your hr is 110 and my is 160 then obviously you have better fitness (excluding medical conditions)
Kudos to that guy at 6:00 who came flying over the top and carried enough speed through the turn that he didnt need to pedal until after the next corner. I see you, dude.
I grew up skateboard loving the art of rally (group B as well), GT, F1, isle of man TT, moto GP, 3 wheelers , etc And it wasn't until a few months ago, at 37 years old, that I discovered this gnarly racing and find myself elevating my soul on my own single speed. Absolutely beautiful
What an effort on that last lap!! Pushing through the wind with zero help. Probably would have been all yours if you went a little bit later but I can imagine that can be very tough to call. You picked your spot and came up a little short on this day. No shame in that. Totally impressive ride and inspiring despite slipping back there at the end. I happened to watch the whole race atop my Peloton bike doing some training and the watts and mph you guys were putting down is humbling. Keep up the excellent work! You’ll get em’ next time ;)
The patience and timing, the output at the end, the speed throughout. I was on the edge of my “saddle” the whole time. This was Fkn brilliant and truly a great view of what we all go through. Absolutely one of the best race POVs I’ve seen in a long time. Seriously, the patience was so amazing. I learned a lot watching this.
Cool, now I can feel stressed for an hour, vs the usual 10-15 minutes of stress that I feel when I watch your other crit videos! (But for real though, thanks for this, it’s a great idea!)
Ryan simply awesome! What a beast 🙌🏽 shame it was some hundred meters too early - would have been such a finish! Much respect for fighting without a team mate
Those corners.... those last 3 laps.... incredible. But I was also struck by the dramatic lack of spectators. Mission Crit SF had a much bigger crowd, for example. It's freaking nationals, doesn't anyone want to watch? But incredible racing....
I made it out to this race and there were crazy thunderstorms right up until the start of the race, which ended up being delayed. I think it scared a lot of the spectators off unfortunately.

I ride a road bike and im just amazed at how fast they're going and how they're maintaining the speed for long-period. My max speed is 45 km/h, but that was back then when I was full of adrenaline. Now when I try to top my max speed, I only go upto 40 km/h. The speed the I maintin is 30+ km/h. Meanwhile this dudes just ride 40 km/h like a chill ride. Kudos to them!
Guys easily hitting 60kmh. I dunno if im just slow or too big, but dayum 50kmh feels like im giving it my all, hitting 45kmh down a 4% grade! I dunno my first year, but im very impressed with the pace many yall set.

Guess allrounder but with very good sprint qualitys right?

Hey Jeff is it your record or someone’s? I like to watch your videos. That last lap is not what you usually do. Why you got the front? What if you didn’t get the front of group? What if you’ve waited until last 200m? This was beautiful video. Learning so many things like always. Thank you
at first I didn’t understand what happened either, but in slow motion I saw how the switch tensioner went into the spokes and after that the chain sagged
@@NorCalCycling It was essentially a leadout...that tactic can only work in such a fast paced crit if you attack and come past the front with at least 10kph extra speed and element of surprise...your friend Ryan basically just rode off the front and even Cancellara wouldn't pull that one off, the final 200m are just too fast.
The real winner here is your heart, being able to push past 200bpm at your age! Your heart deserves a trophy

If I'm not mistaken, that's Drew Dillman of Texas Roadhouse. He's got a YT channel to and is a hell of a racer himself.

That last km looked especially painful
Watching this every TrainerRoad workout. Thanks Jeff!

I really love your channel, and I really love how you race this crits. Fantastic!!!!
Roman just effortlessly (from our view...i'm sure not his) just moving through to the front with 8 to go...also very impressive
Amazing race Jeff!!
Damn the guy riding did a great job of surfing the wheels, and that was a strong attack at the end. These dudes are all so fast. jeez.
Man you came so close to win. Thsoe caught up to you at the end. Very good race indeed
wow! awesome coverage of the race. Great try at the end!!

any chance you can do a review on a Titanium bike? Ti Frame and Carbon fork or Ti Frame and Ti Fork !!!!!!
you should do a video on your camera setup
amazing race..
Look at the rear wheel here 13:26 on the left turn of bike 809. He didn't fall. Anyway, I wonder why these bikes cost up to $20,000.
Ah going so well & all the last lap was class should have stayed with the pack & broke later. Cool video something different.
nicely done!
Non stop uptown
let's go Hummingbird
진짜 멋있다….
The rising HR right after the start, ist that in real time? My HR needs minutes to go up like this
if you do proper warmup it goes up pretty fast
