DJI is doing things very well. I'm sold with the mounting system, it's easy, fast and clever. Now i have an Action 2 with the power combo and I'm very happy with it, even with its limitations.
OA 2 is a superb action camera. Has the same mounting system and the form factor makes it quite unique. Enjoy having it - experience is very similar to OA4
The diferences between the two are quite huge considering the the Action 4 never freezes or loses videos files, or corrupts files when having an external microphone connected to the media mod. The list can continue... as these bugs kind of became features of the gobroke, pardon... gopro camera.
I absolutely hate GoPros smartphone HDR look. It’s over saturated, and GoPro sucks at lowlight! Dji all the way for me. And I’ve been using GoPros for years! Never again
There is one very important thing that the gopro can do what dji cannot, and this is gyrologging while recording full sensor readout! In case of the Gopro 11/12 this is 8:7 wide. Dji can gyrolog only with the digital crop lens "wide", full sensor readout on the dji is 4:3 ultrawide, but with "ultrawide" selected as FOV, the files doesnt contain gyro data for post stabilisation with Gyroflow. For me this is the reason why the Gopro wins for me, and i can use Gopro Labs to extend the quality of the videos even further and everything above 4K is a huge bonus for post stabilisation, because i can crop in without losing quality so mutch. BUT if low light performance is important for you (on a action cam? No action in the night right?) then i would go with the dji action 4, but if gyrologging, dynamic range and post editing is important for you i would go with Gopro.
I think DJI footage is very very oversharpened and looks terrible, did you turned down sharpening to low or just leave that in default? I'm considering to buy the Osmo 4 but the color science and the sharpening is very awful. GoPro image quality is better, DJI looks like a phone footage sometimes.

What is DJI/GoPro colour strategies? Any noticeable bias?
They are different. I used to like GoPro's tuning more, but lately I enjoy the 10bit DJI D-log M a lot more.

Very much agree about the readout. But I feel that dynamic range is better on OA4. Superb execution by DJI

I have used the default sharpness, and the standard color grading that was used in previous videos where OA4 footage was present.
Купих си по евтино GoPo12 , но и двете камери са убиец! Не мога да повярвам такива малки камери за толкова малко години какво развитие имат!
И аз си взех моето GoPro с отлична отстъпка. Но пък очаквах маааааалко повече. Иначе наистина - камерите вече са зашеметяващо добри!
