    Jeff, congrats on making the trip with the Atomic Team; I don’t think you had a good time😆. Too be honest, this is your best personal foot period; your giggles on an entire run relays how much fun it really was.

    Awesome content Jeff! Thanks for sharing and keeping it raw.
    Great glipse into ski touring and often how mellow and wigglie you end up skiing and why that low speed maneuverability is so key.
    Smart move on the maverick 105 (and 115) its a big segment and many of us need more ski than a backland or Chetler for resort skiing. Frankly theirs been a gap in the line since they dropped the Automatic

    • @SkiEssentials

      Agree 100% with everything you're saying. I think the addition of Maverick 105 and 115 is huge for Atomic, and the Backland 109 feels like an ideal touring ski for terrain and conditions like this.

      The Kastle certainly has more of a front side shape to it with a flat tail and a system binding. The Declivity is the one with the most metal, and that combines well with the high camber to make a nice blend of energy and stability. I think the Kanjo is the most versatile and the easiest to ski in a variety of conditions and terrain. If you're looking to mix grip with versatility, the Declivity is right there, and likely one of the better all-around New England resort skis out there.

    I just Bought the Bent 100, 180. I rented them at factory mount. I bought a pair and mounted at -1, I love the Bent 100. So far it has exceeded my expectations. I am 6'1" 220 and the Bents do just fine.

      We have an on-snow video of the 2025 Bent 100 up on YT: th-cam.com/video/85-FApMKpQ8/w-d-xo.html
      The Bent Chetler 120 shares similar changes, and we did get on that ski in some deep snow this year so we're sure to look favorably upon it. The 110 and the 90 return structurally unchanged, so if you need review, we have these videos up: th-cam.com/video/VgWvx735KT0/w-d-xo.html

  • @LucasBassFishing

    In your opinion, what is the go-to ski for east coast skiing? I like on piste and off, tree skiing, so basically everything New England 🤣 I frequent sugarloaf often, and Sunday river.

    • @SkiEssentials

      It's highly dependent on skiing style, personal preference, etc. For some, a mid-80 all-mountain ski is perfect, but then within that category there are different shapes, weights, flex patterns, etc that can all align better or worse with different skiers. Plenty of New England skiers go wider too, especially if you spend a lot of time off-piste. No reason why you can't go into the mid to upper 90s. A good example, considering we're commenting on an Atomic video, would be the Maverick 95 Ti.

    Looks like you should have stayed on the Bent 120's for that tree run instead of switching to the Mav 105. Just another personal sacrifice for your work I guess. But poor Bob didn't make the trip, is he still talking to you?

    That looks amazing! I know you'll do proper reviews at some point but I'm curious how you think the Maverick 105 CTI compares to the Declivity 102 and 108 (current and even better the upcoming updated version if possible) and the new Rustler 10. Thanks again for all you guys do!

    • @SkiEssentials

      The Declivities continue to be better turners than the 105. The 102 more so, but I was on the new 108 earlier this week and that ski is so incredibly smooth. The Atomic still gets the same pingy feeling on slightly firmer snow while the Armada's bring forth the quietness and stability. Mav is powerful for sure, but I still personally prefer the Armada's snow feel and turning capabilities.

    • @SkiEssentials

      A lot of what Chris talks about in the conversation at 24:24 applies to the 100 as well. Not necessarily the talk about mount point, but construction. We'll cover it all ASAP!

    • @jbro151

      Do these same changes also apply to the 110? @@SkiEssentials I guess I need to decide ASAP if I want the old construction instead of the new construction... will need to pick-up some 2023/2024 Chets.

  • @hansi26

    Can you say anything more about your first impression of the 109? Are they replacing the 107 or added to the lineup?

    • @SkiEssentials

      Yes! 109 replaces 107, 102 replaces 100. The 107 feels considerably softer, especially in the shovel. Gives it more float, and the whole ski feels more fun to me from the change in flex pattern. They're fantastic in soft snow, where I always felt the 107 was a bit stiff.

  • @holmster

    Hey Jeff! I’ve been looking for a new ski recently. I’m on the lighter side (130 lbs) and I was wondering if something like a bent 110 or 120 would feel more stable for me than for someone heavier. I like skiing tight trees and ski out west where the snow is deeper. But I also like to rip sometimes. Would love to hear your thoughts!

    • @SkiEssentials

      I'd say the Bent 110 will hold up just fine. The 120 has more surface area as well as adding the carbon stringers and the new build for 2025 with more stability, so that's a stronger ski, but it sounds like the 110 might be a better fit for your stats and application.

  • @hotskillet

    I understand there is more wood in the new 2025 Bent 110. Is there any more dampness than the previous edition? Would you recommend it even in tighter tree/soft day conditions? Looking for that flicky but damp soft day ski still…

    • @SkiEssentials

      I'm hoping you didn't get that impression from us--the 110 and the 90 return unchanged but for graphics. The 120 and 100 do get the slightly longer wood in the core for 2025.

  • @Whim396

    How did you like the backland 109? I’m between the 109 and a tx103 both in the longest length for the Wasatch. Curious to hear your thoughts.

    • @SkiEssentials

      Pretty good! Floatier than the 103 but not as sturdy feeling. Depends if you're looking for the float, which I would guess you are in the Wasatch, I do think the Atomic makes good sense here.

      We skied them once last year--they're a dual-metal laminate short/mid-radius carver. The 55 is 74 mm underfoot, making it on the wide side of front side. Great skis for carving enthusiasts, and we hope to spend some more time on them this winter!

    • @SkiEssentials

      There's a bit of a change in the toe height adjustment, but just some tweaks rather than a whole new thing.

  • @kokibr91

    It would be great also dedicate some more time on the Backland series. I see more and more freeriders ski Backlands 107/117 rather than Chetlers. If the new models are softer would be great. The old are quite stiff.
    PS: Chris should stop making such an awesome graphics as we need to keep buying every year's model 😅

    • @SkiEssentials

      Ha! They have to make money somehow! I have always wished for a slightly stiffer Bent 90/100 rather than a softer Backland. I think they need to keep some differences so that they can differentiate their lines. If you and I had our way, Backland and Bent would likely merge into one model!

    • @SkiEssentials

      110 and 90 stay the same for 2025. The 120 and 100 are leading the charge for progression and changes, which makes sense, as those are sort of the "original" Bent skis.

  • @wenjiechen71

    how you compare 105 cti to faction dancer 3? Are they similar?

    • @SkiEssentials

      the 105 has a bit less camber, so it's not quite as poppy or as eager to carve a turn. The Dancer really puts separation here, as a stand out model in the wide all-mountain line.
