To this day, I've never used a lure more irresistible to fish. This thing would outfish live bait in a nearby pond back in the day. The issue is, rigging it perfectly is not easy, and it does take a light touch to work the lure right. In this sense, it's not the most user friendly lure. I can say the same thing about a Zara Spook. But the way that Slug-Go can be made to dart, glide, then fall and drift away, it was designed to imitate a dying minnow. Whereas the Senko is pretty foolproof to use once you understand how to rig it wacky style.
Hi Den, great lure I use them Texas rigged or just hooked through the nose with no weight, it gives the bait great action on the return. Any chance of doing a "top water Tuesday" on the Rebel jumping minnow? I use the the T10 and have had good results in Estuary's, and use the T20 in open water, but having your expert opinion on this lure would be great.🐟
Thanks Graham. I have been wanting to try them nose hooked as this works very well for the super fluke too. I have no experience with Rebel Jumping minnow but I do think a I have a few laying around. If and when I find one, I will check it out and do a review. Thanks for watching.
Awesome bait and anyone who hasn't fished this lure has been missing out! This bait works on many species in many places and has been a long time favorite of mine. It is my main bait down in Florida. Bass and tarpon love them. I even hooked up with a surprise gator on one trip. I know this is for top water Tuesday but they do work good weighted with a nail or on a jig head as well. Thank you for doing this video.
Love the Slugo. Especially great casting. I do remember they made a Slugo hook. It was longer and specifically for this bait. It was inserted into the mid section where the bait bends. I still have a bunch in a plastic bag being sented. I'll go back and give them a try in the spring.
I put some glycerin oil in with my soft plastics to keep them straight . It's kinda like they are swimming in the packages instead of getting all crimped up.
Hard work pays off! You really been pumping out lots of good content lately. That's the way to go after it

Yep and the sluggo has been mostly forgotten about which makes it even better today!
I love the slug-go! One of my all time favorites. I still have some in Bubble Gum. I love fishing them in weeds.
They are great in weeds, especially in milfoil.

Well said! They caught me a lot of bass over the years with a nail weight inserted.
Sounds good William!
