whoever made this video did NOT play Cotton Reboot. It's not a "remaster" by definition here. It completely changes and revamps the gameplay and mechanics...
Which is even weirder because the very first thing that was shown was Reboots x68000 mode which IS a remaster of the original x68000 game. Could've talked about that version but for some reason they decided to use Arrange mode which is night and day difference.
This looks Great! For anyone wondering Cotton Fantasy is the best cotton game to jump into fresh. Hoping this one (Rainbow Cotton) reviews well as I look forward to playing this star fox lite.
I have the original Dreamcast game and it was great then but never in my wildest dreams I'd imagine this would be remastered for modern consoles. Day one purchase? You damn right it is!
Had this on pre-order for months, can't wait to play it since I've never gotten the chance to play the Dreamcast original and these improvements look great, all I hope is that the updated graphics don't stray too far from the original or lose some of the aesthetic feel like what happened with a certain infamous port of another Dreamcast game.
I love how Cotton "Reboot" is called a "Remaster" when it's actually a Remake (the gameplay is VERY different despite what this video says). No one can ever get their terms right, even a video explaining how to get the terms right. Either way, looking forward to this. I love rail shooters but Rainbow Cotton is the worst game in this series so having it get retooled will be much appreciated. I'm just concerned about how the lock-on works because I hate lock-on but this game was such a mess it might be an improvement.
Hmmmm, I'm not sure if I like the upscaling on the animated cutscenes. The lines look very uneven. I think I would prefer the original video resolution with a nearest-neighbor upscale to prevent blurry video upscaling, if there was no way to recover high-res versions of the original animation. But I'm not sure how many people would agree with me on that.
It's funny you guys use Cotton Reboot as an example of a remaster and say no gameplay changes exist for them, when Cotton Reboot is the most changed game out of all of the games that have come over considering it has huge gameplay changes from the original
And where can I find the Cotton Reboot? It's certainly not on Xbox, Which there's only Cotton 100%, Panorama Cotton and Rainbow Cotton. But not that beautiful remaster 🥺
@@symphony137 unfortunately it a rather outdated question as it official age ratings have been announced shortly after I posted the question so the question is mostly unneed at that point my bad.
The "black sheep" of the series, in my opinion is a good game, but the original version has too many "problems": Poor controls, hard to aim (you need to move constantly), blind spots, etc... Oh, yea, and the worst, they released the game on a console that was an absolute failure. I'm glad this remake will fix these problems. But needs new stages or exclusive characters, because this game is short and needs more replayability, for exaple, the recent game, Cotton Rock'n'roll/Fantasy has more characters with different gameplay and extra stages.
Wow. This looks really bad, like "Contra Galuga," "Panzer Dragoon Remake," bad. Looks how SLOW that gameplay is. And those graphics are cookie-cutter generic. Did they forget what a good looking game this is on Genesis? They should have just taken the originally and gave it 60fps sprite scaling.
I just came in to tell ya that it was a Dreamcast entry whether or not a previous 2D game looked better does not matter in the context of my comment.@@thinkhector
@@braveagentg The developer had MANY issues with developing Panzeer Dragon Remake. So much so, that they were forced to include about 100 improvements on the 2.0 version due to feedback. This is when I jumped into play it. While I appreciated the effort that went into it, the over result only improved it from poor to mediocre.
So excited to finally get a version of Rainbow Cotton with good controls :D
Sure hope so. You can have a remaster and a remake like it.
Cotton reboot was really good. I'm interested in this also.

Amazing video, I'm really excited for this one!
Great informative video! Looking forward to it's release.
Love this breakdown!
Cute video and I appreciate the lesson!.....and with all of that said, I am looking forward to the Remake.

I brought this last night along with Panorama Cotton i see ININ Games i buy without hesitation!!!
Rainbow cotton looks cool!

Cool breakdown for a enchanted port.
Really fun games! I hope you can release Turbografx/PCE version of Fantastic Night Dreams Cotton someday, the soundtrack is just godlike :)
Retro mode looks great
Okay, we need more cotton 😃
I love you Cotton
Hoping for a retail physical release.
Already got my pre order in with Strictly Limited

Nah, we've just decided to remaster the concept of a reboot when remaking this game. Simple as that 🤭

And that it's called Reboot, suggesting it's not an emulation, remaster or remake!
But if I recall, the original source code is still used, which is different from how remakes and emulations work.
@@LoliconSamalik Well they did for the exact X68000 port in Reboot. I'm talking about the main actual new version that's in the package
sweet, 2 player mode. I'll have to get it after I'm done with the other games
I might have to get this one. I enjoyed Cotton Reboot and Fantasy.
A remaster is a re-release of the same old in sharper quality into newer formats. It is like with how old music getting released on CDs.
Definitely an improvement over the original from what I’ve heard. Do want to check it out.
Awesome 🤔😊👍🏾
Guys, Cotton Reboot is a remake.

ESRB/PEGI/OFLC Australia age rating for Rainbow Cotton re-release?
Out of curiosity, why would it matter for this kind of game?

Полезное видео.
Please fix this game! It’s so rare to see a bad game get made better.
Oh we're updating this one for sure. For instance, we're making sure the cursor doesn't recenter automatically whenever you let go of the joystick! 😉
Inb4 they re-release Cotton’s final game which is a pachinko game on the PS2 which it did actually kill off the series for 2 decades yikes

Rainbow cotton was a Dreamcast entry.

If you think Panzer Dragoon was bad, maybe you just don't like videogames? It's not really an issue with the people developing those.
