    Use painter's tape to mark the seam allowance you're using on the machine, it's easier to follow and way more visible than the markings it comes with.

    I loved this video! Thank you! Your last tip regarding perfectionism was my favorite tip even though your other 9 tips were great! What makes a handmade project special are the "imperfections" Those make it unique and shows how someone did their best and put so much time and effort into making it special. Just my personal opinion. : )

    I found out today how 'really' important it is to clean your machine! My 'low bobbin' notice stopped working. I called the dealer and she gave me some help over the phone on what to do. I didn't realize I was skipping the part of moving my needle wheel a 1/2 turn to get out more lint from the bobbin case! What a difference. And How dirty...the low bobbin notice is now working. And thank you for talking about the pre-cuts and lines on the ruler. I didn't know about going to the edge of the pre-cut or including the ruler line. I will certainly be using this new info in my future projects. Thank you so much! Judy-NC

    Amen sister on Change the needle. You should change it every 8 hours of sewing. I buy the organ needles in bulk and change needles often.
    I would like to add, you mention quarter inch foot. But many quarter inch feet are NOT sewing a quarter inch, they are off. For this reason, every quilter should do the quarter inch TEST to confirm it's right. The one where you sew three 2.5 inch squares together, and then measure the center square. The center square should measure 2 inches, or the 2 inch lines of the ruler should fall inside the sewn square for a scant.. You'd be shocked how many quarter inch feet are wrong, and quilters just assume they are accurate. Then their sewing is off and they don't understand why. You could demo the TEST on your channel. It's the only true way to know if you are sewing an accurate 1/4 or scant 1/4

    Thanks Melanie!! 🙋

    • @MelanieHam
      @MelanieHam  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Elle! It does not include a kit, you are welcome to use your stash or purchase what you need from the instructions. This course is using mostly solids or prints that read as solids, so many people already have what they need! The price includes the video instructions (probably 25-30 videos by the end), pdf downloads, and private group. Would love to have you!

    Hi Melanie..loads of love from India..huge fan of your work and you..but i have a question,might sound dumb to you but i am really confused with this..do you say measurements like length x width or width x length..? Here in India,we follow length x width pattern but seems like in US and UK ,does pattern gets changed as there you follow imperial scale.. would love to have your reply..and also does all others quilters follow this pattern as well.?

    I'm sorry. Your lips and the audio do not align. Is that a problem on my side? I have not had this problem with other videos. I have not seen anyone else mention it? I'm aware needles need changing. Really interested in your video but it is so discombobulated I'm having a hard time deciphering it. Do you have a secret decoder ring?
