We wanted to PERSONALLY thank you and your followers for selecting us as one of your preferred ETSY Shops for buying fabric. WHAT AN HONOR!!! Thank you! Thank you!
I have had lots of personal assistance from the folks at The Fabric Patch in Ephrata, WA. They have personally helped me choose and match fabrics, and I have learned a lot from their online classes. I have also learned a great deal and purchased beautiful fabric from Missouri Star Quilt Company and Jordan Fabrics. The clarity of their instruction has carried me through Covid. Thank you to all three online shops!
RIP . Im praying for your family. Especially your 2 little girls. You seemed like such a Vibrant, Cool, Loving Life kind of person and judging from your videos you always kept a Smile on your face. Thank you so much for all that you taught through your videos
I recently ordered from Shabby Fabrics. Free shipping. When it arrived (took about 5 days), my 4 yards of backing fabric was missing, but they included a note that said the rest of my order would ship in a few days. I appreciated that they shipped what they had and let me know what was going on with the rest. They also have some cute TH-cam tutorials!
I think they ask when you check out “what to do if everything is not in stock.” I have been shopping at fat quarter shop, shabby fabrics and Jordan fabrics a lot lately. All three have been great!
Yes please more fabric, notions, yarns, etc haul videos. Seeing those type things helps you decide on things you have to add to your stash. Trust your decisions on the things you use. Happy Day! ☀️💕
I live in Reno, NV. We have an amazing store called Mills End. They are basically a warehouse but still smaller that hobby lobby. I’ve never seen so much fabric in one place. It’s a sewers dream! They have everything you could ever want or need! They carry older fabrics, but who cares! The prices are amazing, the products are incredible and everyone is so nice! They also know how to cut fabric properly! It’s amazing! And everyone is so nice and helpful! No online store unfortunately but if you’re ever in the Reno area stop by if you have the time! You’ll need several hours to just look around! Thank you for this video! I love looking for fabric online even if it’s just to Kind of get an idea of what’s out there and to have those fabrics in the back of my mind when I’m looking at a new project. I’m new to sewing (less that 6 months!) so being able to touch and feel really helps me out!
Thank you all for your recommendations and sharing your favorites with us! I will add the ones not already included onto the list on my site for your reference!
Green Fairy is so excellent for MODA fabrics, and I love Jordan's Fabrics in Oregon :batiks, videos, and they hand cut quilt kits and jelly rolls. They're my goto favorite for videos! Love Donna! !
Hi! Great video. I just started quilting, total beginner and love be right both Missouri Star quilt Co and fat quarter shop. They both have great tutorials on TH-cam as well. And YES, more fabric videos please! Still so much to learn about fabric!
I love Missouri Star Quilt Company. My husband and I were on a road trip with our RV last year and stayed at the RV campground in town so I could shop at MSQC and I think that my credit card exploded after two days shopping in their 13 stores. Yikes! I had a blast and came home with the most fabulous fabrics. I also love to shop online at Jordans fabrics and Etsy. I’ve made close to 800 face masks so far and an hoping to slow that down so I can get back to my normal quilting that I love so much. I also love Coastal Stitches in Destin, Florida, Michelle is amazingly nice.
I usually like Missouri Star but they’re VERY slow with shipping at the moment. Their disclaimer says their yardage may be delayed but I’ve been waiting over a month for layer cakes...
I shop a lot from shabby fabrics, always fast and love the remnants section plus their rewards. MSQC has my heart for daily deals and for Jenny’s tutorials. And I’m a loyal Fat Quarter shop shopper, for fabrics and cross stitching supplies. My bestie has shopped at Bear Creek and with Jordan Fabrics. She loves them both. We both always shop local first when ever we can! Thank you Melanie!
Yay!! Fabric Friday! I buy too much Fabric with no plans...Matching colors! New to quilting. Piecing tips. I can “sew” but there’s a lot more that goes into quilting. Thanks.
I would love fabric haul videos. I love how the floss tube people have a format for weekly update videos: finished projects, works in progress, new starts, happy mail, new stash.
I know this is an older video, but I am getting ready to Ice Dye some fabric to use in a quilt. I ordered the powder dye from Dharma (which people say is the best). I saw lots of color gradient style fabric which looked really cool (and was very expensive) so I am going to give it a try and see how it goes!
LOVE fabric haul videos- good for ideas when you are in the market for fabric and fun to watch and imagine when you’re on a self-imposed fabric buying freeze!
This was great. Staying at home and sewing like a buzzy bee too. Buying fabric has been daunting. I've hit several ETSY shops but totally forgot about Fat Quarter and Missouri Star. Thanks for mentioning them.
Yas!!! Knowing how to mix and match is something I struggle. Especially when you're starting out quilting. I haven't venture to make my first quilt because I don't know how to select the fabric or design.
Just found you, loved this video. I would LOVE to see more technique type of vids. I'm new-ish to quilting (sewn since the 80's) and am looking for how to put colors together, how to create my own patterns in grid paper, how to calculate fabric needs, etc Thanks and be safe =)
I love the way you teach. I would love you to talk about picking colors and how to pick and mix pattern fabrics etc..I am super excited to make my first quilt with your totorial.
I love the fabric selections and service with Fat Quarter Shop, Connecting Threads (which has super customer service), Green Fairy Quilts and Keepsake Quilting. No one can beat Missouri Star and Jordan Fabrics for their amazing quilting videos that anyone can follow and the availabilty of the fabrics they are using to make the quilts.
I have had very good service from everywhere you mentioned. I do not have access to a local quilt shop, sadly but I do love shopping on line. I also have used Jordan fabrics and have had very good service from them also for fabric and notions. I also have access to a Joanns, and sadly I have not have the best service there. So I tend to order on line
Yes Yes Yes, more fabric videos! Also maybe explain quality, the different parts of the fabric, selvage color dots, cutting on the bias. These are things new quilters and sewers might need help with....
Love missouri star quilt company! They're amazing. Precuts almost always have a deal going on and the quilter's daily deal. That daily deal got me in trouble one year, I spent wayy too much there 😅 Joann fabrics is very convenient and the quality is okay. Its hit or miss. You might get some amazing quilt shop quality fabric and you might get some cheap fabric. You gotta look at it and feel it and do the see through test there. For the higher quality stuff that are close to quilt shop prices, I'm at least able to use a coupon which my quilt shop doesnt normally have except on scrap bags and smaller scrap cuts. I love my local quilt shop, but they are more expensive, so I'm not always able to buy from them which is a shame because they're so lovely and theres two doggies that hang out at the shop and they're so sweet. Jordan fabrics and shabby fabrics are great too. If you like civil war or primitive quilting and applique, Primitive Gatherings is AMAZING. Theres another one and I believe it's called Melinda's quilt shop? I found her through a recommendation. She has fabrics that are hard to find or discontinued (I found my favorite fabric in 3 different color ways that no one else had and ordered like 7 yards each of it)
Always enjoy your videos. I have never bought fabric on.ine. I like to see and touch what I am buying. Seems harder and harder to do these days. I would like to see addition videos on how and what to look for when purchasing fabric. Wanted to let you know that because of one of your videos on machine quilting, I finished a quilt that had been sitting around for 6 years. I had made the quilt top 8 years ago and sandwiched the quilt with the intent to hand quilt it. I like handwork. Your video encouraged me and lit a fire to get it done. Thank you for your inspiration!
This video was super helpful thanks! I love fabric but would like to know more about what designers I should be on the lookout for. I don't really know how to find them. Maybe you could do a video on your favorite designers.
Where did you buy that small red print on white flannel fabric for your daughter’s quilt? It’s absolutely beautiful and I can’t find it on Amazon or Joann’s sites. Been loving the Kona fabrics and Robert Kaufman flannels and fabrics via Amazon. Enjoying your expertise and videos. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Working on my 3rd hand sewn Hawaiian quilt. After that, will begin machine sewn lap quilts for my grandchildren.
yes yes yes Melanie!! Would love to see your fabric hauls! Love your outlook on life! Stay safe! Thanks for the tip on that Nashville designer too. I live 25 minutes away and would love to support her as well.
Yes yes I would love to see fabric hauls! I use the larger online shops you mentioned but would like to know the names of the independent designers that you recommend. Thanks for your videos. I am newish to quilting but a lifelong sewist . ;)
Here in Texas, I grew up with "real" fabric stores like Cloth World, Joann's and Hancock Fabrics. They had wonderful apparel fabrics for everything from coats to sleepwear and everything in between, and quilting fabric too. My mom and grandma made lots of my clothes -and my Barbies'- when I was little, and then I started sewing myself as I got older. I always had a beautiful, custom wardrobe. I miss those stores and being able to walk through them, picking out fabric for a whole season, then going home to sew my visions into reality. Can't compare with shopping online, for me anyway.
Yes, Sandra!!! I miss Cloth World (almost forgot they once existed) and Hancock Fabrics! When my daughter and I were shopping at JoAnn's last week, she mentioned Hancock Fabrics and how much I shopped there when she was a little girl. So sad to see all of those fabric stores are now history.
@@ijohnson81 I have fantasies that someday we'll have a store, or STORES!, like them again. In the meantime, I have ordered from Fabric.com for our business. They have good customer service, and offer a discount to businesses.
Here in the UK my closest shop is 2 hours away so mostly I buy on line from the USA. Missouri Star. Jordan fabrics but if I want it fast I go to eQuilter. I have ordered Wednesday and had it in my sewing room by Friday amazing fast UPS delivery.
This video was excellent. I went to Joanne fabric recently and although prices were great, I was overwhelmed, as I'm new. Got up my local quilting store and the lady was SO helpful with choosing my color scheme and a pattern great for my all level. For sure I will be spending the extra $ locally (although I can see how Joanne's prices are nice. I did buy stuff online to make fleece blankets for project linus, and it hasn't shipped, a week later. Maybe not worth the savings!)
I love your fabric hauls!! I think that is what I say any time I comment. HA! Also would love videos about your color choosing process, and maybe something about print scale. Like when to use(quilting related), and what projects(outside of quilting) you use larger scale &/or smaller scale prints.
I would love a video about putting colors together. I have sewn for many years but making face masks has given me an interest in learning things I haven't known all this time and I would like to eventually maybe do mini or wall quilts and even now, choosing what colors and patterns go together is a challenge
I've been buying all kinds of fabric on Etsy! Super fast at getting it. Sometimes just a few days. I ordered from Missouri star and it took almost a month!
I have shopped with Hancock's of Paducah for years, they have a huge store and sell online and prices are pretty good. They do offer flat rate shipping and volume discounts too I think.
Y Xiong the only problem right now is that their flat rate is taking over three weeks . If you don’t mind paying Express Shipping you should get it the next day!!
I would like to know where you buy your notions from. How to match fabrics and more videos on quilting even it takes several videos to complete only if you feel up to it. We love you, your in our prayers and such a good teacher.
You will be greatly missed! I'm binging all of your videos, so glad you made them and so thankful for inspiring so many people around the world.
We wanted to PERSONALLY thank you and your followers for selecting us as one of your preferred ETSY Shops for buying fabric. WHAT AN HONOR!!! Thank you! Thank you!

Another good place I like is Jordan Fabric. I grew up in Oregon and I love them.
I love Joann's!! Also from Oregon :)
D Robinson Jordan Fabrics is wonderful! Beautifully cut, and great precut kits, not to mention fabulous vids. Donna and Matt are terrific!
Yes! They have great sales & prices too!
Jordan Fabrics is great
Love Jordan’s fabric also!!!
RIP . Im praying for your family. Especially your 2 little girls. You seemed like such a Vibrant, Cool, Loving Life kind of person and judging from your videos you always kept a Smile on your face. Thank you so much for all that you taught through your videos
I was thinking of Jordan Fabrics too. I live in southern Oregon and they are super!
Jordan Fabrics has so many free patterns and TH-cam videos and their fabric quality is simply amazing! The colors on the screen match what you get.
I recently ordered from Shabby Fabrics. Free shipping. When it arrived (took about 5 days), my 4 yards of backing fabric was missing, but they included a note that said the rest of my order would ship in a few days. lisakay1481 I made my first tote from Jennifer! She’s awesome!!!
lisakay1481 👍🏻
I think they ask when you check out “what to do if everything is not in stock.” I have been shopping at fat quarter shop, shabby fabrics and Jordan fabrics a lot lately. All three have been great!
Missouri quilting shop is my favorite place to shop for precuts. Jenny is a sweetie. Thanks for sharing.
Yes please more fabric, notions, yarns, etc haul videos. Seeing those type things helps you decide on things you have to add to your stash. Trust your decisions on the things you use. Happy Day! ☀️💕
I also buy from Jordan Fabrics. Small family business in Oregon
I've heard great things!
I love Jordan Fabrics
you can count on Jordan Fabrics pre-cuts being absolutely perfectly cut. I love them.
I love Jordan’s Fabrics and I would love for you to do a fabric haul!!!
Love those videos, Donna! !💚💙💛💜

Spoonflower is great for really unique original fabrics. I’ve gotten some fabric from there before and seemed like good quality.
What I like about spoonflower, is that you can design your own
Yes would definitely love to see more fabric tutorials! Thanks so much for your videos!
I love Missouri Star Quilt Company. My husband and I were on a road trip with our RV last year and stayed at the RV campground in town so I could shop at MSQC and I think that my credit card exploded after two days shopping in their 13 stores. I recently have used Hawthorne Supply Co. Spendy, but really nice quality modern fabric.
I shop a lot from shabby fabrics, always fast and love the remnants section plus their rewards. MSQC has my heart for daily deals and for Jenny’s tutorials. I’d love to see fabric hauls or how you pick fabrics for a project!!
My all time favorite 2 shops are Keepsake Quilting and Connecting Threads- talk about pre-cut wonderland.
Oh yes, Keepsake is an extraordinary store, just up the road a piecefrom me, as we say here in New Hampshire!
She helped me decide what to buy with her honest opinions.
I would love to see more videos on fabric and selection . How to choose the right fabrics, design, color for the projects and also helpful notions.
I would love fabric haul videos. I love how the floss tube people have a format for weekly update videos: finished projects, works in progress, new starts, happy mail, new stash.
Yes I'd love to see more fabric videos!
I live in Va. The 45 minute trip to Dayton is so worth it. Called Patchwork Plus, it's a great shop. Lots of good fabric.
I shop at Jordan fabrics also. I ordered and received everything on time and very well packaged.
I know this is an older video, but I am getting ready to Ice Dye some fabric to use in a quilt. I ordered the powder dye from Dharma (which people say is the best). You can also get charm packs, layer cakes , jelly rolls and yardage from Craftsy (Bluprint)

Fabric Patch is my online favorite
This was great. Staying at home and sewing like a buzzy bee too. Buying fabric has been daunting. I've hit several ETSY shops but totally forgot about Fat Quarter and Missouri Star. Thanks for mentioning them.
So glad it was helpful! Can't go wrong with any of those options ;)
Yes fabric haul and how you select complementary fabrics for a project.

I would LOVE to see your thought process on choosing fabrics for a quilt pattern that may not all belong to a specific collection! Thanks!

If you like civil war or primitive quilting and applique, Primitive Gatherings is AMAZING.

Yes I would like to see more fabric and what you would recommend. Thank you.
