- Garen and Ellie paint the baby room and continue making ornaments for the crib mobile. Gary tries to finish up the cabinet trim but runs into a “snag”. After an extensive search, we find clear pvc pipe so we are able to make a headphone holder for our gaming desks! Check out this weeks video for all the fun. Thanks for watching!

Yay! An early surprise this evening here on the east coast.
Love the color of the baby's room. That's what color we painted our first baby's room. She turned 30 this summer. I like to think her cheerful yellow room helped make her the sweet young woman she is today.
The kitchen is looking better and better. Can't wait for the countertops!
This little bundle of joy is so lucky she will be growing up with the most creative talented and kind family in the planet, family that turns the dirt into a beautiful sustainable place! something I can be very very proud off, I'm so excited! 😊😊😊😊😊

Did you know that babies eye/sight development is best with black & white colors? I worked with infants & toddlers with special needs for about 20 years. Having an early intervention specialist just keep tabs on your baby is a great program (no cost). They can give helpful hints that most parents do not know! 110% recommend!

Garen and Ellie are doing a wonderful job on the baby room & mobile. I don't like when I work hard on something and have to start over. I have found, the pro's still make mistakes after doing their craft for over 30 years. We are all in the same boat, Gary you seem to have a better attitude than most of us, though. Attitude matters, it's a sign of being well balanced. Love to the whole family. Take care and God Bless.

Another great video! I am so happy for you for the blessing of a baby - I'm grateful we get a peek into the baby preppings!! Those LED holders are so epic - I would have enjoyed those back in our gaming days and makes me think to make a version for my younger kids who could use something other then a container lol. When trimming the thickness of the butterfly, glue a piece of paper between the butterfly and a "handle piece" use glue sparingly, that will allow you to break the piece of later with relative ease as paper is more fragile than wood, the paper remains can be easily sanded off afterwards. Enjoy.

I would like to make a suggestion. In the toe kick area of the cabinets, you should put in pull out drawers. These are especially nice for lids for pots and pans, lg & flat baking sheets, special linens, and many other odds and ends. You have this space, so use it, right? Otherwise it is only waste space. Just a thought.

How not grown am I? As soon as I saw the clear PVC my brain went the same way as Bree and Bryson... :D Not ashamed. The butterfly is adorable Garen, and I painted my mom's ceiling fan, the blades white and the metal parts silver. Turned out great. Room looks good and the color is perfect. Happy Birthday Shae!

I so love and cherish their thought and effort to hand make the baby's hardwood mobile it's going to be so beautiful and something that can be used through out the family possible forever more. Nothing says love anymore than these gestures to me. And the baby's room colors is just awesome, I'm sure the sister's art work will knock it out of the park!

Praying mantis must love this time of year - I found one on the floor next to my desk - inside of a large building in Scottsdale!!? I boxed him up, took him home and he is loving life in my garden, instead of a stuffy 'ol office. I named him Manny. :) My son found one the very next morning outside of his apartment! They are AWESOME creatures and will eat anything you don't like - including scorpions.

If you really dilute a black paint or get what's called a "wash", you can brush it over the butterfly and it can really make the grooves in it pop.
Washes are used to paint miniatures for role play tabletop games like Dungeons and Dragons. It just gives them some shadow where there needs to be shadow, and it's easy to take some away if you're worried about them getting too dark. You can look up D&D miniature painting on TH-cam and see if there's one that you find that talks about washes.

It's so exciting! The anticipation of a baby! But, you really may wanna reconsider the yellow. 2 facts: it is the harshest color on the eyes and studies show that babies cry a lot more in yellow rooms.
Speaking of cabinets, Peter Brown released a new video today where he encases a flower in resin and it turned out beautiful. I immediately thought of you guys and your attempt at doing it. That time, the resin probably cooked the flowers. Brown used a type of resin that is 3 parts instead of 2 and doesn't heat up as much, especially at lower volumes. His video is called "Can You Preserve A Rose in Resin?! | Dipit #24" if you want to see how he did and what he used. Cheers!
