- This week Gary continues to build the Kitchen Island cabinets and we get them set into place! However, now that we see them laid out, we discover something needs to change. Bryson and Bree are hard at work on plans & design of a new desk made from PVC piping we have laying around while Shelly is prepping the tree branch lights! Oh! And new baby goats! They always bring sunshine to the homestead! Please enjoy :)

Hey homestead family, well this was another great video. Not just coz you are all very talented and creative and all your projects are turning out awesome, and not just coz of everyone's kind, gentle and obviously very loving nature and ability to work together to achieve your goals as a family. It's also coz of the amount of effort you put into the actual quality of the footage and editing, and everything really. It's just a pleasure to watch, and I can't wait for next week.
Oh and the last bits with Bree and Shelly, and then Gary, had me almost falling out of bed, I had tears from laughing. I really wish my kids grew up in a family more like yours, I've got to try harder to be more like Gary and Shelly. I'm rambling again .

Fun to see all the chickens and rabbits you have. Fun to see the new kids frolicking. I think that one goat is fascinated with Bryson! Love the color of the cabinet hardware and am glad you're going with the white paint for them. Will be interested to see how the tractor paint works on them. Shellie was such a good trooper to sand and refinish the mesquite tree. Clever desk design so that you can hide the cords in the legs. Thanks for having so much fun while you work. Fun to see a new style of artwork for the merchandise.

Your videos always brings a smile to my face. After a long day it is nice to just sit down to dinner with the family and watch you all come up with creative ideas and make them a reality. And my 5 year old was quite excited seeing your goats. 👍

Bree should get a baby wrap to wear for chip! I have one for one of my cats who loves to be held and I also used it with my neighbors dog when she was sick and we were taking care of her and had to hold her up after she ate. She had mega esophagus. Or she could make her own wrap :)

0:43. We were talking about these T-bar handles the other day. One caution with these bad boys... Be careful they don’t catch on your pockets when you walk by if they’re on the horizontal placement. ie draws etc. It took me 1 jacket and 2 pairs of jeans to realise I like curved ended ones!!! Lol 👍🙈🙉🙊

I've been watching your videos and I just want to say your family is so creative. I love watching how you all have teamed up together to do these projects. You are all an inspiration to the meaning of family. It's just so amazing how innovative and creative you all are. Everything is so original and wonderful.
Cute babies! I have never seen a goat with poka dots before. The desk is pretty cool and the tree branches look great. The cabinets are good too even if they blend in. :-D
Depending on what finish you were looking for, you could also try Floetrol. I will never paint any cabinets without it. Zero streaks, brush marks, etc. and very smooth. Love the work. Keep it up!
And the goats. And the dogs. And the chickens. Love it.
Need to use safety glasses using that saw! One little shard of PVC comes flying up and gets in your eye and that's it.
Baby goats are soo cute. Kitchen is going to be awesome. Those handles are copper colored, make sure you like the contrast.

Paint with primer is an old painting trick. It actually evolved from p.v.a. which is a primer. What we used to do is add color to the primer so that you could save on a coat of paint. Someone in the paint industry thought it was a great idea and now you can't buy a decent paint without primer in it. That isn't how it is supposed to be used. It is not a finish and you can't skip the primer. Take my advice and never ever skip that primer coat. It will save you tons of agony in the long run. As a Class A painter who graduated from a 4 year apprenticeship program with over 30 years of painting I recommend primer for the best job. Love what your doing. Color me jealous in Wyoming.

A heat gun works really well on PVC, and you can avoid scorching it.
I've used bedliner spray paint on PVC. It looks nice, and is durable.

I agree! They can also use an electric clothes Iron on highest it will go and push the end of the braces, if it will get hot enough the PVC should melt and roll a lip on the end of the pipe/brace which could then be stuck to the leg and even screw some self strting screws through on each side to back it up! Then they wouldn't even need the holes in the legs! I'm just not sure if an iron would get hot enough but I believe it would!
This is how they adhere the black tubing together that is used for the water lines in geothermal heat pump A/Cs they have a specific "iron" they use for it that is why I am not 100% sure on the clothing iron but if it gets hot enough it'll work!!!😊

Sorry if this sounds corny but for me seeing a family work and live together live you do is how it should be in every family poss not living together but sharing lives as you do is very special your Mum and Dad are very special people possibly many people would have loved to have had folks like them is parents. I sure would. you have instilled such great values and love and time into your children. What a powerful reflection of family you clearly live and portray it blows me away.

I love when it snows in Cochise County, I lived up in Millers Peak at 7500 feet, and the snow stayed with us all year. Miss it so much, I'm jealous.

am so excited about the desk with that pvc pipe y'all can paint them in any style, from woodgrain tree to metal, bronze, silver etc. the sky will be the limit, and what a great way to get rid of cords!! I'm typing this in the beginning cause I couldn't wait so you will already have it painted.

Awwww, the babies are aDORable! I have friends that raise pygmy goats and miniature horses and they have kids due any time now. First time I saw one of those babies I couldn't believe it was a goat, it was about the size of a cat... and they bounce soooo much. All the boing boing.

I absolutely love your videos and family. I grew up on a farm with a dairy and various other animals. FYI - the placenta is very nutritional for the new mother after giving birth. My Dad always kept a gallon of the first milk from the mother in our deep freeze to use if something happened to the new mother or for a weak, sickly baby. It's full of rich nutrients and even looks different from regular milk.
My parents and siblings were very much like all of you. Built and created original designs, did own auto repair (even my sisters), electrical and plumbing. Mom has a commercial art degree and another in business marketing. One sister was active in drama productions and we all sang and most play musical instruments. I'm of an older generation, so we didn't have internet until I was in college or amazing things like a 3-D printer. We would have definitely loved to have had them.
Great job on your hard work in creating these videos - including the background music. Would you think about making solar panels out of cans for heating and try them out to see how well they work?
