You need a point and shoot temperature gun for first check after fire up. It will tell you a lot of things about what's going on with the tractor before you start wrenching sucked the garbage out of the fuel tank and clogged the filter. When working to fire up an old iron, the second step after checking the oil is siphoning out everything that's in the fuel tank (within reason) and add 2-5 gallons of fresh fuel. Run the old stuff thru a paint strainer, drain off the water and blend it with fresh and use it after she's running. All that's standing between you and a straight grill is a few screws, a body work hammer and a nice flat surface. No major damage done there. Just be patient and hammer out the crease. You can do it! 😊
When you have damp hay always use white salt on it. We would stack it in layers. Throw salt on them like you were sowing seed by hand. Than stack another layer. Cows go crazy over it. However we always stacked on edge
Dents and dings add character. We have a CA that has a couple dents from some accidents over the years. It has a dent in the gas tank from an orchard ladder falling over, and it rolled down a hill into the woods when someone parked it, but didn’t put the cultivators down. I think the grille and radiator got replaced after that one. I’d take yours off and try to straighten it unless you plan to completely restore it. I think they look better when they look like they just came out of the field.
I enjoyed watching this video of you baling hay Brandon. Hope you figure out the air issue in the diesel fuel and get that corrected. What state do you live in?
My dad years ago was cutting hay with out 560 he left the haybine running and only locked one brake on the tractor and never turned the wheel stepped off the tractor the brake came loose he tried to catch it but slipped on the drawbar it drugged him a good ways lucky the haybine hit a tree it was a loss tractor was fine but my dad tore some ligaments in his arm that was it he was lucky
So, did you know there wasn't a park brake, or just a faulty one? I had a 770 Oliver Diesel get away from me, I set the brake leaver, but maybe not good enough, I got off and hears a pop, away it went, down the hill and into a stone wall, Fortunately the only thing that broke or got damaged was the steering wheel!
