- This week i started working on the interior of my 40 year old QEK Junior that i traded for an old Tracksaw last week.
My goal is to spend NO money on this project!
I found some great materials that were literally laying on the street...for free

Using the old sign for the cabinet doors and wood spool for flooring was a stroke of genius! This is why I subbed years ago. You’re so inventive with all of your projects and your happiness is quite contagious. ❤️
I haven’t got anything cool to offer you as a trade Laura other than my heart. I had a massive heart attack 5 weeks ago which made me realise how much I want to live and do things with my wife and finishing a camper to travel in would give us our dream. Thank you for all your inspiration and the pleasure you give us with everything you do.
Hope you are doing better.
Love the whole ethos of reuse, upcycle and trading!
Me too, trading should be normalised
That's the thing. That camper had no real "value" but some effort and it becomes something great!
😊 great quotes!
@@tiacho2893 depends what you consider "value" i have lots of things that are of huge value to me that are not worth a lot of or any money
@@smashyrashy I was referring to $$$ value; things like manual typewriters that are old but not yet collectable. The only $$$ value is scrap metal and that's really low. But they are amazing bits of mechanical engineering and design.
It's going to be better than when it was new. Re-sawn wood for the floor was a nice idea, and those cabinet doors are gorgeous.
It's already much better than it was.
It's so nice to see how this project motivates all the different people in the comments to think out loud. We can all learn so much from each other! How nice that Laura's projects are like a little study tour on sustainability, recycling and appreciation of materials. Thank you all for your passion and love for such a great topic! Thank you Laura for your courage and straightness to make that Camper great again! 🤘😎
Coffee, campers, creativity, construction and controlled chaos.
Much love from Northwestern Pennsylvania!
Perfect Laura project. It’s fascinating how much better it looked after you cleaned it up!
Here’s an old sewist tip: keep a dish with a magnet at hand when you’re pulling nails or staples from reclaimed wood. It will keep them corralled for safe disposal. You can buy a magnetic dish at an auto supply store or simply hot glue a magnet or two to the bottom of an old plate or dish. I use such a dish by my sewing machine to corral pins.
6:03 That look- satisfaction and joy. It's 50% of why I keep coming back to this channel. GOOD VIBES!
I’m very impressed at how much items you are repurposing into the camper! I’m amazed at the work you have done! You are doing a great job!
Love people that have vision and is not afraid of tackling any project. You are awesome!
I immediately thought of how awesome this would be as a podcast/music studio 😊😊😊 I seriously love your videos, I’m a soon to be engineer and your videos inspire me so much specially as a woman in a male dominated field, you inspire me to love what i do no matter what and not care what anybody says about it, so thank you for everything you do 💖💖💖
I LOVE that you repurpose discarded items. Everything you have done looks stellar!
You have a remarkable talent for discovering the potential in recyclable materials.
Agree! There's definitely an innate "knowing" taking place here!
I would LOVE to see you donate your Spring Camper Makeover/Remodels to a homeless individual in desperate need, I know ALOT of people/movements would support that! You are so gifted!!!
There's something super liberating about using only the material at hand for a project while at the same time it gets the creative gears going at full torque. Love how its coming out! Mobile mini maker space?? 🤔 You could put an anvil on the hitch for a counterweight 😂
I once heard someone say, "I've spent so many years making a lot out of a little, I can now make anything out of nothing."
I love how you look at stuff and think this could be that, when I just see junk. The world needs more people like you.
What a transformation! I love it. And all on a zeuro budget. This makes good sense to me: more money can be dedicated to tools! I love the Ballistol idea - use it as a degreaser for the 40-year dreck that accumlates in the corner. I think it will be the new patchouli for maker women... :)
Hey Marielle, ballistol is the new WD40. 😅 And it's so much older that WD40, don't understand, that People Hype so Long on WD40? With the Budget, i think it's so important to me, cause i understand that Budget is time, and passion needs time, so i need more time to make stuff with passion. So, there is so much scrap Outside witch is Material in my View. So i can spend time in passion and Not in Work for Money to get expensiv New Material. For me, this is a really good deal... ☺️👍
I love when you reuse old things and make them new . I love recycling things less waste .
I love the floors. I've always been fascinated with the life of pallet wood or any other wood that is outside all the time, serving one purpose. Fantastic job... super jealous.
Your skills, vision, patience and perserverance are awe inspiring. I am truly envious.
Thank you for sharing your voyage.
If anyone is going to thrive in an apocalypse situation, it's Laura...
Dibs on her team!
She seems to be doing pretty good now as well…
Awesome video the fact that you a doing it with what you have at hand
should inspire everyone to get involved in some sort of project to keep active
As always God bless you and stay safe in these troubled times 🙋♂️🇬🇧
We Love u from Ometepe Nicaragua me and the neighborhood watch you from my back yard on tv sorry no comments just a thumbs up
This project is so incredible had to comment fyi u and your gang are welcomed here when ever / how ever long you want including the D O G thx
There were so many things I loved visually about this episode! The way the giant wheel of wood collapsed couldn't have been more perfect. And the apparent pieces of trash labeled "floor" and "ceiling." And then the way all the "trash" came together was of course amazing.
Thanks Andrea!!
Another cool project! LOVE the recycling, reusing model of building this out. Showing us how incredible something can be with “found” materials is really powerful. Thank you for the inspiration 😍
I have one from 1979, and I renewed it in 2005. I built in à shower and heater, so hot and cold water.
Since in the garden needs to be repainted. Great work 👏👏👏❤️
Great job, nice restoration! Looking forward to see the progress.
I remember campers like yours from childhood, nice to see one coming back to life. Thanks for the video :)
You are so creative and handy! Thanks for saving that camper!
Amazing re-use work Laura!!
Planvoll und guter Dinge. Sehr gut.
You are a master of recycling... Great content as always.
Do you know what impresses me the most besides your skills is your positive attitude. Good job and hope to see more of your work.
It's really beautiful, you can get so creative when reusing materials, but you have also great minimalist taste. Thanks for the great videos!
This is the most beautiful way to recycle and up cycle. Way to go. I love this. ❤
Such an interesting project, even after all the other camper projects you've done. The $0 budget adds a whole new spin!
Laura Kampf videos and camper builds. Two of my favourite things.
I hope you get something fun for the horsebox! 😄
I'm very excited to see how this camper turns out!
Your the most creative and resourceful woman and craftsmanship to almost no end . Love your channel and you!
I love that you, as a professional, still run away scared of the things you're trying to make fall
Oh I sure laughed when you rolled up that wooden reel, it was bigger than the camper!
With left-overs you have made a industrial design. Great.
I just subscribed and thumbs up. You are such a wonderful inspiration to women all over the world. Love your smile, humour and motivation. Thank you for these renos and builds as I am learning and being inspired by your ideas and creativity.
This is very exciting. I hope you get a great trade for the horsebox.
Your attention to detail ,selection and use of materials, opening our minds to new ideas. Thanks again. Camping is my favorite thing to do. West coast on the beach. From Washington State, Oregon, California, it's really something special.
Me seeing that tiny rainbow flag in the first shot: 🥰🏵️🌈
This is such an amazing and inspiring build ✨ so excited to see it progress!!
I used the aluminum-plastic-aluminum sheets to build a case for my recumbent bike. It's super strong material and really nice to work with.
I love this content! It’s always so much more impressive to see someone’s creativity with $0 than an unlimited budget 👍
Love the reuse of material. Editing very well. Kept me glued.
You were so brave to go in there without gloves! When you picked up that coffee mug I seriously heebie-jeebied.
Laura, lo que tú haces es arte!
Laura should be sponsored by a hand care cream. She keeps caressing that untreated wood like it was nothing. Tell us your secret!
I guess it's the years of suffering we did not see :D Somewhen you and your skin will just get used to it.
daily handcare with ballistol 😉
Hahahaha
She’s got calluses that protect her hands. She got them working.
the end result of your work on this camper is wonderful!
You are awesome. Your next project must be a expedition caravan from old mercedes unimog or vario. Best wishes🤗
Nice tools. It is a joy to watch you use your tools so well. You produce beautiful results. Keep Rockin' it, Girl.
Sunday routine! 💪💪 Premiere with Laura 💃🎉🎉
I absolutely love this mentality of zero waste and recycling. I've also been building wooden stuff from salvaged wood, pallets, etc. Though sometimes you need to be creative with all the crooked stuff and now I'm the crazy dumpster diving guy in the neighborhood. Oh well...
Ace project! Can’t wait to see what’s next
First video I check out on Sunday after coming in from my shop/studio to see your visions happen. Good to have neighbors who have recyclable /redesigned materials.
Community: So Laura how many campers do you want?
Laura: Jes
You have so much control!! I would took off all that cabinets and probably would be wrong or expensive. I loved this project so much!!!
My wife and are are watching 🇨🇦
Same here.🇨🇦
same here 🇺🇸
Crikey I love watching your channel. I have a caravan that had some water pipe leaks and i have been all "oh what will i do, now the floor is a bit spongy?". You give this old woman courage girl. I will have to wait 3 years, till i retire, but i now feel my young 20 year old van is very very able to continue its life.
Laura, that large cable spool would have been used as a dining room table back in the "Hippie Days"!
I Love watching Talented People Create…
1:29 perfect Shot for Material hunt!
Smudo for President!
😁🐕
I so enjoy the backdrops from these German DIY videos; looking to when I can again travel there!
Now this what u call a proper diy. 👌 reuse, recycle instead of running to home depot, you use your talent to re work stuff lying around. Exactly what I am doing now. Fantastic way to teach young kids to use their 'brain and imagination'.....u go girl
Sad that you won't finish the horsebox, it was going pretty cool.
I'd love to know why she never finished it.
@@FrauJantsche ADHD
Why is irrelevant, nonattachment is freedom & labels limit.
Sometimes when you reach the point where you can 'see' that the project will work, you can let it rest for weeks, months, or years before you actually finish it. The project will let you know when it's time.
Likewise, I was really interested to see where it was going to end up. Ah well, any Laura is good.
Laura, you are a star shining a bright light for women everywhere. Love your can do attitude, I wish I had half your skill & determination. Love from Australia 🇦🇺
Love the editing on this vid
Wirklich toll, dass du hauptsächlich mit Restmaterial arbeitest. Mir gefallen deine Videos sehr gut.
The wood floor says mobile sauna. Definitely a big improvement already.
Absolutely loving this. Bringing old things back to life. Brilliant.
My guess for the camper: Mobile podcast studio.
Just studio, not mobile.
Sure...Studio is allways in a metal box with awsome acustics....
@@heschum2449 Sound dampening foam is a thing you know...
@@Syberz I didnt mean to be rude ;) Ofc you can adopt everything, but in the moment it is one of the worst rooms for recording a podcast i can imagin =)
@@heschum2449 unless you love echo and reverb 🤣
I am SO JAZZED about this project, what a dream! It's coming together stunningly Laura
I'm a little surprised you didn't copper-plate one of the cabinet doors, Laura.
Ooh, copper plating the ceiling would have been so cool. It already looks great though!
Yet
You did it again! This does not come to fruition without vision.
You need a Let Wood Dry sign lol. I loved the look of the cabinet doors. Are you gonna finish the floors with anything?
As always, your enthusiasm make my weekend. Cheers Laura - thanks for sharing and Happy Sunday :)
About your plans for the camper: the red light made me wonder, so my guess is, that it is going to become a fotolab.
that's excellent reasoning. I hope you are right
redlight is actually good for camping out in the wild. That why high end hiking head lamp have a redlight option on them. you can see pretty good and won't be blinded by sudden light being turned on or flashed at you. also animals will think your an animal too, a big one but this is Laura so you're 99.9% right lol.
submarines have those, too. so a fotolab / animal photography expedition hideout, that will be submerged in the sea. That's why Laura needs a broken submarine to get to it. i think we are on to something here.
i was thinking exactly the same, why a red light on the ceiling? mmm, dark room is coming up :D
When I saw the red light I thought about something different
You know Red light and caravan 😉
Beau travail et superbe projet, j'adore. Ça fait plaisir de voir de vieilles caravanes reprendre vie.
You could use a car jack stand under the rear, to keep it from leaning back too much!?
to reuse what we already have to something new and cool, fantastic !
Hmm, das "Privat"-Schild könnte auch mal eine Renovierung vertragen ;-) Vielleicht mit verkupferter Schrift und einem Smudo drunter "Hier schlafe ich!"
I love how casually you said "it was probably 40 hours of work so far." With a day job that is 1 to 2 months minimum of consistent work. That takes dedication that you can be proud of.
I love my dogs but i would do anything for Smudo
I like the way you reuse materials, the good ideas you have and the way you explain everything. Wonderful job!
real envious of all the Festool products, they are quite expensive here in the U.S.
Not only in the US ;) But excellent value for money!
Considering how prominently the name is shown, and her > half a million subscribers, I'm going to guess guess they don't cost Lara very much.
@@jaytalbot1146 yes, she‘s officially sponsored by them
Yeah there expensive everywhere but quality wise second to non
It's fantasti and you are doing a great job just cleaning it up. STUFF is fun and repurposing is genius.
I can't wait for this to FLY
All I can say is WOW! You have talent!
How does one come to own a four-meter spool?
Laura, you are no doubt the queen of creativity! I'm loving watching you work on this camper and of course, my favorite part is watching you incorporate all of the used materials. The doors, the ceiling, and the floor are simply amazing. Thanks for sharing this video.
Are you going to put a trailer hitch on your bike for the trailer? lol
That is one heck of a Festool line up. That’s a major investment!
"broken submarine"? LOL, where did THAT come from?
Maybe a nod to Kliemansland. A German youtube channel.
They have a broken "submarine" (it isn't really a submarine just one of those lifeboats that kinda look like submarines)
I only recently came across your channel and I think you're so inspirational! Always positive, always a great smile, and cool projects! Thank you, and keep it up!
Hit the like
Truly an inspiration to all those of us who love to upcycle things.
How lucky you are to be able to do what you like and also do it so well, Congratulations!
A hug from Seville Spain.
Ahhhh your shop, tools and skill. The cab doors are very cool.
