  • Paul shows you how to achieve 2 different types of curls for medium and long hair, using a scarf, by wrapping and twisting the hair into sections. The results are a curly and a wavy set.

The twisted side with those well defined waves was definitely the side I liked the best. I have seen stylists use all kinds of heating tools on hair and not get such a clearly defined look as you got there. Nicely done! I am subscribing to your channel today after watching this video! God bless you and Merry Christmas to you and yours.

I have shoulder length, naturally wavy hair. When it's damp/wet, on the right side of my head I section from the ear forward, then twist loosely and roll it backward, looks like a crescent roll, then clip it at the back of my head. I section another 3" behind the first section, twist it loosely to the end, then pin it back with the first section. I take the last section of hair on that side, twist and add to the clip. Then I repeat it on the left side. Once dry it makes curly waves! No scarf. But I think the scarf would make it dry faster. If my hair was straight, or if I want to really define my curls, I'd work some curl setting gel in first. The roll around the face has a 40's vibe to it. And rolling the front sections around a beautiful scarf and leaving the rest loose is also very pretty.

They are both very pretty but my favorite is the twist. Thank you for making this video.

I like to add a little bit of oil into my hair more on the scalp because mine gets dry which then makes my scalp itchy. If some people do have this problem add oil just a little bit and you can still do this heartless curls.

Would this work to curl synthetic extensions?

I have curly hair with lots of volume and want to reduce the frizz and volume. Which technique would you recommend?

@poolmile thirty my hair is just like yours and I've only recently discovered this way of wrapping to give our curls healthy style and definition with zero damaging heat. I am loving it!!
While many use this to get curl, it's a great way for all us natural curlies to reduce puff and frizz... makes your curls lay so nice since everything is going in the same direction.
So far I've only done the first method he used (the only way I know), but fixin to attempt his second style. 🥰

If you have bob length hair you can do this as well, just use a bandana.
