    I'm pretty sure I have SIBO but my doctors were all useless. Almost eight years back I had a really bad stomach infection. For three days I had the worst stomach ache of my life and was bed ridden. I had no diarrhea during the stomach infection. After the stomach ache past my gut was never the same again. I experience almost chronic bloating, it's my only symptom along with lethargy/fatigue. In the beginning I had some constipation but that got better. I think I had a hydrogen breath test done for SIBO and the test was negative. I'm really not sure now if it was hydrogen or methane, this was a very long time ago and it was in another country. The country I live in now offers no such tests.
    Do you have any suggestions for me? I'm so sick of living like this. I just want to get better already. I'm willing to try these antibiotics myself just to see if they can help me, what do you think I should do? I'm worried they might make me worse by destroying the good bacteria in my gut though. Thank you.

      I was given xifaxan (expensive) then I use a probiotic 1-2xs per day peppermint, oregano/peppermint tab & oil, slippery elm…. Fob diet… lemon water… apple cyber vinegar
      I’ve lost about 12 pounds & now struggling with constipation . Frustrating & confusing. I think I’m doing better but cautious.

      Hard to answer, but often SIBO develops after a case of food poisoning, have you had this?

    • @SA-cb2it
      @SA-cb2it หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ConfluenceNutrition no food poisoning recently. Happened in 2014, but I did not get diarrhea or vomiting and a round of rifixamin cleared it. Since 2018 my digestion is screwed. Probably low stomach acid, had a small surgery and had to take antibiotics but I took probiotics afterwards. 2019 dec got flu had to take antibiotics and ibuprofen, since 2020 Jan my digestion has been worse with no improvements till now, severe constipation. Few months ago I started eating two bananas one to two hours after eating my once in a day meal, it was ok for weeks but then I started to notice this smell that smells like Sulphur to me, the one which is like pink Himalayan salt because I was having it, but the smell continues, and from a week or so I can see bloating too. I generally eat cabbage and carrots salad with a few raisins and some nuts, with that two eggs omelet, and a source of carb like flattened rice/semolina /chickpeas with yogurt. I cook everything and don't eat anything raw, except yogurt. I don't understand why the constipation doesn't resolve and getting worse, in general I have not had any flatulence issues in the past and my flatulence never smelled. I also take some supplements with food, yakult light (it has sorbitol), 400 mg magnesium glycinate, marine collagen, and a liver support (Liv 52). A couple of min this ago I managed to get softer bowel movements I think happened when I started taking yakult and magnesium supplement. Can you spot the culprit here? 😕

    Excellent video, my case is complex and I am very confused as I have reactive gastritis, gastroperisis, candida, histamine intolerance, hydrogen dominant SIBO. I don’t know in which order I should be treating my conditions. I also have h. pylori but it’s very low in number and no virulent factory. I also have heart burn, acid reflux. Severe food intolerance.

    • @ConfluenceNutrition
      @ConfluenceNutrition  ปีที่แล้ว

      HI Naveed, your question is not unusual, given your situation. I tend to suggest working in this order: foundations first (reduce stress, figure out your specific food triggers, and support digestive function as best you can), then address infections, starting with H pylori (if present), followed by parasites, then bacteria (including SIBO), then candida. With a ton of reactivity, however, you may have difficulty tolerating treatment. if this is the case, start with nervous system rehab, with something like the Gupta program. THis is a general suggestion of order of operations, but the specifics may need to be adjusted for you. If you'd like more in depth help, please book a call with me to discuss how my program could support you with all these issues, conditions, and questions. confluencenutrition.com/contact.

I am so weary of taking it.

    • @ConfluenceNutrition
      @ConfluenceNutrition  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Lorinda, it's possible, but it's also possible it will help! If it does make your constipation worse, there may be other aspects at work that need considering, like candida, or motility.

    • @lorindadelafuente4919
      @lorindadelafuente4919 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ConfluenceNutrition, what can I take for motility? I think I also have low stomach acid as well. The way this all started was with my gallbladder and after getting my gallbladder removed, it has gotten worse.

    • @ConfluenceNutrition
      @ConfluenceNutrition  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lorindadelafuente4919 Hi Lorinda, many things influence motility, so the question is, which one(s) are right for you? Since your gallbladder removal was a trigger, I'd start with testing a bile acid supplement to see if that helps. STomach acid support can also sometimes support motility, as well as hydration, appropriate fiber, exercise, and infections (like SIBO). Specific motility supports include MotilPro by Pure Encapsulations (if you tolerate ginger) or Iberogast. But the most important ingredient of all is a method to figure out which is right for you...this is what I help my clients with. If you'd like help with that process, please reach out.
