Unfortunately the cars from 2023 and before did not have the remote start wiring like the new 2024 cars sadly. It’s crazy because other manufacturers had remote start way before when Audi just now got approved for it. Before, there was a huge regulation in Germany that none of the Audis were allowed to have remote start. I believe it had something to do with emissions. Audi had received so many complaints for not having this in their vehicles because customers saw that this was offered with their competitors like Mercedes Benz and BMW. They decided to now add it.
@@EzraV.-ep5ti Completely incorrect. My 2023 Q7 Prestige Luxury can remote start from my phone for parking functions just fine. The "wiring" exists (or in this case, modules/programming) it's not wired like old remote start systems). In fact, part for part my Q7 is identical to a 2024 with the same feature. Zero module difference in a VCDS scan of a model with this option, just a small coding change at Audi and a software change in car.
@@TWoodhead I see, I understand. I was told this by my mechanic, I was interested in getting it added. I guess it is just a marketing thing to push customers to either upgrade their vehicle to a 2024 or higher model that will have it.
Please create a workaround so that when you open the car the ignition doesn’t turn off. *either require an unlock before opening the door with the key fob or *hit the brake pedal and the ignition with the key fob in the car. Clearly if someone has the key fob in had they can steal your car anyway, right??
So the remote start feature seems to be working on my 2024 A6 now. However when I open the driver's side door it shuts off. Anyone experiencing this issue? Any fixes out there?
So looking at other vehicles with remote start capability I know that BMW’s continue to run after they have been started remotely. The driver still has to press the start button and have the key FOB in to operate the car. So at least one manufacturer has figured it out. Not of the purpose of starting the car remotely only have it shut off when the door is opened….just saying!!!
Same here. My Jag works like the BMW. Remote start, unlock buy grabbing the handle, foot on pedal, done. My ‘24 RS5 won’t let the convenience key work, I have to press the unlock button and the car shuts off. Absolutely love the car, but come on Audi…Ridiculous.
Why is Audi so stupid? What's the point of remote start if you won't give the option to control climate features? You have companies like kia and Hyundai who give you the option to turn on the defrost(front and rear), turn on steering wheel heat or seat heating... Like you are AUDI... The supposed luxurious brand and I swear, you people must have a bunch of monkeys working there for you. I love my 2019 A7 even though I know there won't be a retrofit remote start for it and seeing just how mediocre you made it on the 2024 model, it's such a useless waste. Might as well not even offer it. So what if the windows are frosted up and you didn't set it to defrost the night prior? This is my current dilemma I have to do on my other 2013 car with remote start. The fact that this is what you Audi are offering on a 2024 car is absolutely pathetic. What an awful lot.
Now bring it to all of us that have 2023 Audi's that are completely compatible but you refuse to allow it to function.
@@RCtennis3811 i've just installed remote start in my 2018 Q5
Yes!! I was wondering why we have up to date cars but can’t use up to date features

That's great as long as your phone and car have Internet access, but what if they don't?
Why not just program it into the key fob?
If you're not near your vehicle your remote won't work. Same difference. One can basically work anywhere.
1:43 Damnnnn
You got that right…
😂😂😂😂😂
For how long is free?

Does this happen to you too? Like the moment you touch the door handle, it shuts off completely?
Mines shuts off when i press unlock on my keyfob
Is it normal for the car to shut off when you unlock the door? Cuz this is what happens whenever i do the remote start
yes
My Genesis did that too

And just like in the video, you can't even control any climate features right?
it should turn off. else ppl will drive it away

This is so annoying on the Audi. I hope they fix it or create a workaround like other cars where the key fob needs to be in the car.
Which model Audi in this video
Looks like an A7
2019 has the modules but you wont allow it. So lame
It takes 20-30 seconds for a successful remote start, is it normal? Or only me?
What a SCAM , They think they Netflix Paying a yearly subscription
What are those stupid limitations for???
Because you could fill the garage up with carbon monoxide before you decide to get to the car.

Big time waste of a feature Audi. So disappointing.
