This kit isn’t made by Audi - this is an after market kit and you have to give up or buy a key fob that is installed in the car for this to work. No thanks.
@@ddjslhomebase243 it says idatastart on the card for costumer care and only takes about 3 hrs for install. Find a local car audio shop and ask that’s where i did mine, working really good so far.
Just purchased an Audi A5 Sportback and remote start is just something I "assumed" it had. Coming from a BMW, it had this feature, along with pre-climatization, etc. I will definitely be going back to BMW after I sell it. Audi's are beautiful cars, but lack simplicity with app integration. Apple CarPlay keeps disconnecting, garage door doesn't always open, Audi Connect doesn't always "connect..." I digress.
@@Mike-dd8bd Agree 100%. There were so many features that just came "included" on my BMW. For instance, when my daughter is driving my car, the Audi app will not allow me to check the location until it is parked. Not only could I do this anytime with the BMW app, I could start the car from the app, flash the headlights, honk the horn, etc. Also loved the fact that I had a key card that I could use to start the engine, as well as lock/unlock. Going with an Audi has made me miss the luxuries and comforts of the BMW.
I completely agree with all you guys are saying My mustang Gt has all that features and my Audi 2022 it is so boring , beautiful but boring car Apple car disconnects all time my next car will be and BMW or a Raptor truck , I’m from TX

Very strange that Audi is owned by the Volkswagen Group and my 2019 Arteon came factory equipped with remote start capability. Not sure what the European laws have to do with it??
How safe is it to have an extra key in the car? Does that key act as just a receiver? Is it programmed to prevent turning the vehicle on if a normal key isn't nearby? The app you speak of also, does it allow us to control heating by any chance?
Laugh, it literally is a key in the car: Unsure if this is accurate but imagining they take the backup key module in front of the armrest and (hopefully) split it to a second unit, then adhere a backup key to it, then program the ecu to turn on the engine with 3 door locks. That said, if it's how it works, anyone could bust your windows and drive off but highly unlikely they'd know the trick to restarting it would be to simply lock the doors 3 times.
They key for the start replaces your fob, they have to order another fob to do the remote start he said, most likely you'd deactivate the older fobs so no one else has access, I dont like seeing it say 3 fobs when I only have 2, so I'd take off that 3rd one to be certain 🤔.
@@bbnnmm9 also is it a smart remote start? As in according to the climate, would it preset the climate control for the best comfort? Germany doesn't allow any auto manufacturers to have remote start. Only MBUSA and BMW USA vehicles are offered with remote start. Audi USA does not offer a remote start option on their cars.
