Comparing the Moleskine & Leuchtturm1917! Which one to buy for sketching? | The Lilac Mind

I wanted to share my insights on two of the most debated brands amongsts artists, while comparing and giving a preview on the Moleskine and the Leuchtturm1917. In the video, I will try to help you on which one to buy for sketching vs. journaling as you will hear about the pros and cons of both brands' journals and sketchbooks.

I love moleskine, but sadly almost all stores have decided to stop selling the watercolor in large size where I live, I used the moleskine sket lchbook instead of watercolor and it's terrible! I managed to get ahold of two other kinds, the leuchtturm and the 'PaintON' sketchbook

@@thelilacmind5546 I ended up choosing the Leuchtturm. The way you described the paper, it sounded like exactly what I was looking for. I ordered two and they arrived today! I can't wait to test them out :)

For me, I use a pen for sketching and sometimes I get dark. I don’t want bleed through.

@@thelilacmind5546 I want to buy one (Im a starter) I will mostly use a mechanical pencil and a fine liner, maybe a gel pen. And if I'm feeling it, colors and marker, but again, I'll mostly use a mechanical pencil and a fine liner.
Wich do you recommend?

@@kaku7722 For sketching, 5H pencil for guidelines and fine liner for refining it and full drawing. That’s my go to… I can’t recommend what would be best for you because it depends on your taste/what materials you’re most comfortable sketching with. Pen or ink pens are also options that comes to my mind at the moment which i think would be great for sketching.
