Question: as someone who (unfortunately) cannot support your efforts through Patreon, I was curious about something: Are all of these shows going to be an eventual reality for this channel? Because all of them are simply phenomenal in regards to content quality and research.
+The Templin Institute how about a video on UNSC? No, not HALO one. Real one. SO that your viewers could feel a proper sense of scale and potential even real world tech has. For example if we cast out the question of price and international arms agreements, a single 152mm SPG can have a 70+ tonn yield in TNT equivalent(W48 rounds, ZBV3 has rumored to have 1 kiloton), 40 km range for precision shots(Excalibur/Krasnopol shells) and having rate of fire upwards of 90 rpm. That's enough to demolish a LOT of sci-fi ground forces. Such vehicle was never needed, but technology was here back in 80's even. People seem to forget that all sci-fi is based on irl or concepts and that real world is developing and implementing new tech faster then authors produce new books:D

@Reee Monro Guess I'm a turbosperg. But what I mean is the worldbuilding. Like, how does the economy work? Why does it work the way it does? And so on. Some stuff just doesn't really make sense from a geopolitical perspective and seems to contradict what a ruling class would do in that situation.
I am sure there is always room for competition, but The Expanse is very stiff competition. A few mistakes made are little science inaccuracies like the full volume sound effects when shots are in space. Of course, for entertainment purposes audiences want some audio during these shots, so maybe muffled sound effects can be the compromise.
I'd like to see a world that isn't just a "united Earth" because it is done so often. A sci-fi world where major nations still exist but are colonizing and fighting each other seems like a good concept
trust me the expanse isnt that great write your stuff and compete if you want to it still suffers from diseases such as stormtrooperitus and plote hole syndrome
Really enjoyed all four pilots, it shows you skills at making videos and the high amount of research you guys do for your main series. Sadly I don’t have the funds to be a patreon contributor, but I would like to put in my two cents. I think dossier should be your first choice because it balances well with your main series. The Templin Institute has been doing a great job macro level of a culture/society/civilization, dossier will show there micro level. Showing the best and worst a culture/society/civilization creates and the influences that the culture/society/civilization has soon them to become who they are
Fair enough, and I think that dossier would be a nice addition, although, I actually preferred Atlas myself, but all of these are very nice, and would be a worthy addition.
Atlas is my second choice, last is the animal one. The Intitute is like a Cultural Anthropology class that deals with the different groups of science fiction and fantasy franchises. It’s great to get the macro level with the main series and then the micro level with dossier. Atlas is a great choice because it shows how the geography of a group has affected it, overview would be third because it has been done by other groups. As I stated in my op, all of them were well done, but I feel the main show and dossier creates a nice pair in what they do.
An alternate world you may want to look into is Pern from the Dragonriders of Pern series. There's a deep bredth of lore there to go into with, dragons, an isolationist space colony, genetic engineering, plagues, cyclical disasters, timetravel and a strange technological mix.
Why do all of these have to be good. Bestiary has good info on a lot of different creatures, and if its one thing people remember the most about a universe, it's usually the creatures that live within it. Plus it reminds me of watching some of the older shows on Animal Planet. Dossier has the whole historical figures angle going for it and everyone loves to see their favorite characters get the spotlight. Also reminds me of a lot of historical figure documentaries on the History Channel, Science Channel, and AMC just to name a few. Atlas is like watching the Travel network except that most of the places we will be seeing are from some of the most prominent places in fiction. Either they are a fans vacation dream or nightmare, either way, would be cool to see. And finally, Overview is the History Channel back when it still talked about history. To put it simply I can't pick which is my favorite, you guys are just too good at this.

Nice video. Love the expanse both books and series. I do always get annoyed though that all sci fi always takes the myth of overpopulation and propagates it. It is one of the reasons most people still believe the earth is heading for overpopulation, when in fact we will be lucky to have enough people to colonise the solar system by the time the expanse takes place... As nations develop and child mortality goes down, so does the growth of the human population. Even now in the early 21st century (thanks to efforts by the united nations to stop child mortality ironically :)), the global birth rate has dropped to 2,5 children per woman. This is the minimum birth rate needed to stop the population from shrinking. In many developed nations like some european countries, japan,... the polulation is already shrinking if you don't take into account migration. With the global birth rate at 2.5 the population of earth already is set to stop growing. It will continue to grow to 10 to 11 billion due to all people now living and lifespans increasing, but it will not grow a lot more than that. Unless there's a major war or something happens to increase child mortality dramatically, earth will not grow beyond 10-11 billion... Overpopulation is a myth. Great info and talk about this, using UN figures is hans rosling, check it out and educate yourself a bit. Awesome overview! - probably the best thing on Syfy since BSG. I really love the realistic imagined tech and politics - not unlike the tensions of early 1700's colonialism and reminds me a lot of B5.

The Expanse intro is one of the best. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. Still waiting for S3. I have to say though, I don't really like the "Gunny" character, I was more interested in "Drummer" however. Love her accent and how good the actress was in giving the battle speech, much better than Gunny's. I loved everything about that character, her voice, accent, no nonsense attitude, she just projects that commanding aura the Gunny actress couldn't achieve. Oh another personal favourite, that belter kid that befriended Miller.
Okay here's a suggestion, albeit a tough one, please consider discussing the timeline of the Maschinen Krieger universe. (aka - SF3D, aka Zbv 3000 aka ma.K) It's a model building culture that has been around since the early 1980's. Hollywood has recently optioned it for a script so it might be ideal to produce a video on. I liked this video. I subbed.

Alright then, I guess it would be best to just go from least favorite to most favorite. Bear in mind, I want all four, but that's not the world in which we live, so... First up, Overview. I think it holds promise, but if this video is any indication, it'll only serve to set the stage for a show or movie series for those who wish to watch it. In the case of TV shows, there is the possibility that Overview can serve as a refresher for current fans ahead of a new season. Second up, Bestiary. Studying creatures of alternate worlds creates an endless supply of content. The only reason it isn't higher is because the other two are even more fascinating. Third up, Atlas. It'll be good to learn more about fictional places. Just like Bestiary, there's no shortage of places to explore. Atlas could also work in tandem with Overview to give people who are curious about a particular show or movie more information about the world they're looking into. Finally, Dossier. Let's face it, it's the characters that can make or break a story. Examining the major players of a story can be just as enthralling as the story itself. Plus, of all four series, Dossier had the best Pilot episode. Thus, I humbly (and painfully) cast my vote for Dossier, with my second going to Atlas.
Yea, I thought Daniel from Spacedock would like this. As much as we desire otherwise, you could see the future go this way. As fast as technology progresses, humanity progresses slowly, ever so slowly. Hopefully, we will survive ourselves.
Glad to see so many support the Belt. I hope the same people draw parallels between the show and real life, maybe understand the reasons behind war and terrorism.
I've binge watched several seasons this week.....what a excellent show...strong characterization ,poignant scenes , excellent special effects i tried to rest and turn it off but I kept on watching episode after episode.
