@ryanricardo feel the cheesy power of the opponent not landing on the spikes when knocked into the pit it took them several years to make it really look like they fell on the spikes when knocked of the bridge the only time they got it right in the old games was when mk2 came out but still the only way they could make it work was knocking them into the ceiling when the new games came out they improved it alot more
That’s an alternate select screen chosen in the dip switch menu, I like it because you can simply highlight the secret characters to use them without having to do anything cryptic.
I've had this and UMK3+ on my MAME cabinet for a few years and love them. Do you know if once you unlock the extra characters, that they will be available next time you start up the game. From what I understand, you have to unlock them every time you start a new session of the game, which is a real bummer if that's the case.
Depending on your cabinet settings, those usually have the "delete any changes when you turn off the machine" thing causing you to re-unlock everything, but under normal conditions once you unlock them, they stay unless you do a factory reset.

@@CoryB_1980 Depends, usually (at least at my side) MAME dedicated machines usually they have something like Deep Freeze installed that rids of any changes the machine has restoring it to the last moment the Deep Freeze (or equivalent) was enabled, meaning that in those cases you have to re-do it all the time, however, if you have a way to disable it, you can do the unlockables and then re-enable it so you don't need to worry if for whatever reason you do factory reset in the games or someones does it, back at one arcade at my side, I was wondering why the UMK3 unlockables got locked over and over, and the operator told me that tiny bit of intel they usually do with those MAME machines.

I own a MK2 arcade cab. I'll give you some tricks. When facing Kintaro, if your jump high kick button stops working on Kintaro, do the jump low kick instead. Alternate between one or the other after one stops working. Also, on my channel, for Shao Kahn, I show how you can defeat the character with a standing low kick only for flawless victory. This was so entertaining to do out in the arcades when it first came out. Once you see this, you'll see how crazy stupid easy this is to defeat Shao Kahn once you get the timing right. Works well with the ninjas. (Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Reptile) One more thing, if the CPU characters in the game are not cooperating, like not jumping back into you for example, you can reset the CPU by doing a standing high kick like how you do with Shao Kahn. Standing high kick by pressing high kick button only. Don't do a roundhouse! You'll see the character get shookin up for a second and then it resets the CPU program when if you jump back for example, the CPU will jump back as well again. It's all about the timing. Those work for the ninjas as well.
I didn’t know switching between LK and HK made a difference against Kintaro but that’s pretty cool. As for the LK exploit on Shao Khan, I did know about that method, but watching someone do it is incredibly boring, I like mixing up strats on Khan just to make the end battle more exciting. You want to be within almost throwing distance when you do that. The character gets shookin up for a second and then it resets the CPU program so if you jump back, the CPU will jump back so you can throw a spear from Scorpion again. Works for both player sides. I'll recorrect and update my previous statement. Sorry about that. Give this method a try. You'll love this.
the arcade version is the best, the sounds it makes gives you chills. Something the at home SNES to be seemed to lack, the je ne sais quoi of the original
I think the only way is with a Double Flawless and Fatality without blocking on the Pit 2 stage, and only when the shadow passes the moon. It’s happened once while I was playing, but I didn’t even come close. Then you Fight Hornbuckle at the bottom of the pit and if you beat him you unlock Smoke. VERY hard to get.
been playing this since it was 1st ever available, i just wish they'd added Noooob-Saibot instead of the stupidity...easily done considering its in UMK3 audio files

I have it but the controls are all wonky I’m walking around a like a chicken with its head cut off. Maybe I need to run it on another emulator or something. If I get it working decently then I will 👊🏼
Can you do one like this, on Mortal Kombat 3 - regular with Sonya Blade - Master ladder, start at the Graveyard stage? I didn't like when they took her out in MK2. NOT ultimate, regular MK3. Up the music a bit.
I have it. Use to have a site but it was shutdown I believe. They do have a discord server, the game also requires it's own version of mame. Same with UMK3+ They were working on MK1+ but it never got finished.

Mortal Kombat 2 will be the best game of the franchise. Even when mortal kombat 3 was release in the arcades, this game was play more than mk3.

You actually _have_ to fight (and defeat) Hornbuckle to unlock Smoke. Use the same method as Reptile in MK1, just on Pit II.

The pit fatality sucks in this they dont even land on the spikes they land between them and hit the ground then the blood sprays up
