At 15 miles per hour, when my e-bike flipped over, I broke my arm and fractured my skull. Now, after almost a month off work, I have a titanium plate in my arm and still a lot of pain every day. I was lucky to get out of it with my eyesight intact and no broken vertebrae or bleeding on the brain. I don't blame the bike for this and am itching to get out to ride again, but I won't be allowed to until August. That was at 15 miles per hour. Imagine how much worse all of that probably would have been if I'd been going faster. I love my e-bikes and scooters and wouldn't be without them but, please, before going on about how much better they'd be if they went faster - maybe even making people want to mod their machines - think about how badly that extra speed can make things go. Speed isn't everything and at faster speeds, they are just not safe.
Sorry about your accident. I had a motorcycle accident back in 2015, got run over by a distracted driver who was totally at fault for running a stop sign. I had my safety gear on(helmet, gloves, jacket, chaps, boots) but I still have to have neck Micro-fracture surgery(12 screws in my neck.) as well as a plate on my left ankle and some internal surgeries. I recently ordered a DYU D3F e-bike that I plan on riding slowly on sidewalks and against traffic when I have to get on the roadway, which hopefully won't be often(I live in a small town in South Texas. Whataburger is 1.5 miles away...:)). I think that with all the distracted drivers out there, older folks like me(I'll be 65 in July, God willing) are better off staying off of roadways, using an e-bike that is not fast, easy to get on/off of, that also gives us the ability to pedal, and has a good range. I'm not riding the DYU until my skating helmet that has a front and rear lights arrives. I'm looking forward to getting back on 2 wheels(I have a couple of recumbent adult tricycles that I ride on bike paths.).
I came off downhill at 34mph when my front wheel folded . If i was not in full winter gear with two hats on i wouldn't be posting this . I knew i had worn the front wheel past its brake wear grooves but i kept putting it off ...I was head to toe bruised and had a knee bursa for months . New wheel now! but i do worry about these 30..40mph ebikes everywhere . I did speak to a policeman who did say they were illegal but unless you were a dick on one there was very little if any enforcement. I have a 250w road legal switch but in UK the throttle makes it illegal anyway yet there a million times better than pedal assist.
Our laws are mad. I understand that it has to be speed limited at15 or 20mph but the power should be what is needed to keep a heavy person at that speed up a normal hill.
yep couldn't agree with you more. its the speed that is the bit people in general are bothered about. 15mph is more than reasonable if we are going to keep giving these things the same rights as pushbikes get. or letting school kids use them. the motor power is irrelevant.
You can only have a throttle on a bike bought in 2016 or later if it assists the rider without pedalling at a maximum of 6km/h (3.7 mph). These "twist and go" throttles are designed to help people who have difficulty starting due to injury or disability
This looks amazing. I'm guessing it's more of a commuter bike than a tourer of any description. I currently have a standard electric bike which I use around town going to and from my part time work three or four times a week. I love the bike, but don't always feel especially safe. I've given up trying to navigate roundabouts on it, as I might as well have a target on my back. The fact that this looks a bit more substantial and has indicators might improve my confidence a little. The big disappointment I have with my electric is that I get nowhere even close to the range it claims to have. Have you yet done the in depth review of this one? If not can you (or any other kind reader) tell me roughly how far (town use) this would go on a full charge? The price, by the way, seemed pretty good to me!
Good demo ... the construction looks solid and it took those bumps well due to the coil suspension ... so good to see real brakes that are so efficient too ... worth the money but I think the parents may not agree with that ... enjoyed the video, thanks.
I ordered my last week, it's coming from the factory so I have to wait up to 3 weeks but it's gonna be worth it! it's a great bit of kit plus derestricting is easy as unplugging a wire underneath the seat xP
Have you managed to repeat going up that hill without pressing the green button yet? I am hoping to get this bike and will need to climb a 12% gradient also so it would be cool to see what speed it will climb at.
the earlier models with twist and go throttle are way better in my opinion. The major downfall are the lights, so I added motorcycle spotlights, and put a battery in the front storage to power the lights.
agreed.... and a set of airhorns under the rear luggage tray didn't go amiss either... I use a dewalt battery in a "power wheel adapter" of temu for my peripherals... high power battery, quick charge and I have 5 of them i can just swap out with and they fit perfectly in the glovebox with a couple of relays :P
I agree but ut I understand they are illegal now? I have just ordered this ebike and am nervous about the strange way it is controlled. Twist and throttle gives optimum control when occasional riding on a pavement which I have to in parts of my city because kerbside potholes are so dangerous.
Great review and video...could I ask what app you are using on the phone with all the large digit speed, time, distance info I can first see at about 7:14 in the video? Or is it Eskuta specific? Thanks
Hi so just watched your video on the sx250 do you know the range. I have a electric bike that I've upgraded the battery on and get 24 miles on one charge but it only has front suspension. The sx250 looks so comfortable
Enjoyed the review. The peddling style looks a bit unnatural to me and the lack lustre power going up, what appears to be; a gentle hill climb would concern me. I purchased a relatively low cost (£400) 2nd hand Giant ebike and it’s had no problems getting up much steeper hills, even at the lowest power mode! The Eskuta does look comfortable and I like the suspension and other moped related gear and comfort.👍
Glad you enjoyed it. The hill in this video is about 12% and 750w ebikes and 800w scooters have failed to get up it on throttle only. When i did it on the eskuta I was pressing the green button rather than pedalling and I'd forgotten it only works under 6kph. I'll do it again soon with the pedals to compare. But still impressed it got up when others didn't.
@HDsharp about 100kgs. 12 degrees is actually pretty steep. But this hill isn't even 12 degrees it's 12% which is around 7 degrees. But in the real world it's a tough hill. No one ever cycles up it. Check out my second to last video about escooters and hill climbing. Ebikes do get up easy with pedalling but they really struggle without human help.
@@e-VRC My Giant Hybrid Escape 2 bike is pretty heavy by modern standards! The sync drive rear wheel hub motor would “easily” enable me to ride up a hill of that incline, and even steeper if required. Although you are correct in saying the rider needs to pedal, from experience; the effort required is minimal, even in the lowest power mode (Eco). My bike is that good, I could climb a steep hill with no “run up”, even when the bike starts off in a high gear. If I drop down to say 2nd gear and let the bike slow down, as soon as I “gently” pedal, the motor kicks in and enables me to climb most hills. If I chose to select “sport” mode, the bike could accelerate up most hills enabling me to shift up to one of the highest gears (say 5 or 6). My understanding is the motor works on torque, not cadence.

Watched a lot of your videos the last two weeks. Can I just ask. How does that camera work you use on the front of the bike? It looks like it’s pointing at the sky when your body cam shows it? Thanks
Hey, thanks for watching. It's a 360 camera (insta360 x2) so it films in all directions. It comes with software that allows me to reframe it afterwards. There's also another lens on the other side pointing at the floor.
All good unless you are involved in a collision...You'll be liable wether it was your fault or not, even if you weren't using the throttle at the time. Say a pedestrian jumps out from behind a car with no warning, you both end up in hospital, you will be held liable for injury and damages...As long as you know.
That motor looks like the same one that is used on my Ez-Mini road legal e moped lol mine has to be road registered and limited to 28mph to conform with UK moped laws. even all the lock beep noises is the same , bet the motor is capable of much more if there is an unlock hack/mode ?
⚡ *Been a fan of these since I first saw one, clever way of complyin!* ⚡ Thry really should make more variations, ones that look different cosmetically but with the same specs.
I really like the look of this, I've been looking at e-bikes so I can get back and forth to work about a mile away though I think I'm going to have to go full electric motorcycle as everywhere around here is steep and I'm quite heavy. Kind of a pain is that.
Yeah it's so nice and comfy and the storage is decent too. And because it's a 'super torque' motor it doesn't struggle on hills like a standard 250w ebike does.
The reason you had difficulty cycling in that alleyway, is cos it was a " No Cycles" footpath! A good idea to concentrate on the signs when traveling and then do "piece to camera" when stationary.
@@Keyser-0 i do talk about that in the video. And big white writing saying I shouldn't. But there's a stretch where the parked cars mean there's barely any room on the road for cars to get past me up the hill.
We have the same e bike in Serbia called Colossus CSS 53Q and it has a throttle. It costs less than 800 pounds. They're all made in China that's why they look the same.
I foresee these becoming a problem. In your video you were bombing along the footpath. But what if a small child or a dog was to come from a blind spot you would be knackered and then what would the implication be for you and the third party's? Insurance is a must! and prohibited from using footpaths. Also by some of the comments overclocking these machines, will have serious consequences.
They should definitely be off the footpath. I try to stick to the road unless cars are seeming particularly crazy. These things go 15.5 mph which is slower than a 15 y/o rides a pushbike. Accidents could definitely happen though just like they could with pushbikes. I'd be happy to have insurance though if we could then ride ebikes with fewer restrictions. As long as it's the person that's insured not the bike. It would make it very hard to be an ebike reviewer otherwise.
E-bike laws are not “mental”. They are intended to keep E-bike capabilities close to those of bicycles. Bicycles, including E-bikes, can be ridden on the road without type approval for the vehicle or license and insurance for the rider. If you want to go faster buy a type approved vehicle, get a license to ride it and pay for insurance. Then you can have your safe handling, adequately braked fast E-bike and not be a liability to other road users and pedestrians.
Hi bruv, I bought a eskuta sx250 mainly on your first road test over a year ago. Among other things I carry it on the back of my motorhome so I can get down the shops for my paper. I’m trying to find how to connect up a hand throttle as this would make life much easier and safe. Do you or anybody put out a proper video showing how to make the wiring connections. I’m 75 years old and don’t give a toss what the police might say.. one spotty copper questioned my number plate (OLD GIT). I just told him to go forth and multiply or I would tell his mum that he was out being a tosser again. Best regards Pat the loon.
haha that's funny. I didn't try adding the throttle and don't remember if there are any videos. I imagine the green button could be replaced with a throttle then it's a case of just enabling full throttle somehow through the computer.
I doubt there would be much market for this in USA. It's designed to comply with UK/EU regulations for ebikes, which are much stricter than in America. There could be market for this in other places that use the same EU standard, such as Singapore.
Really enjoy my more bargain basement step through style ebike, using it to tow the trailer to work. 250w is about 40w over my ftp...... so together we have 500w ... mega power, I would possibly win a tour de france time trial with that power.... It's 250w and 36v.... puny but in the real world of getting about town with shopping it's top marks... Disclaimer, I am a racing cyclist as well as the old guy on an ebike... but the average Joe untrained might be able to sustain 150w for an hour, 400w combined is elite level cyclist. If that doesn't change day to day transport nothing will. Ebikes are a game changer. Should be 25mph with a licence and insurance. Oh yeah please don't cane it on the pavement even if shared use, 3rd party injuries will hammer your finances without insurance ....
This would only be of benefit to 14yr olds with wealthy parents. For me it’s the price that’s a put off, £1700 for a 250watt, for £1700 I could get a really useable 50cc scooter with tax, MOT, CBT training all paid for doing 30mph completely pedal free.
I use a gopro 9 usually on my chest, an insta360 x2 for filming myself and a sony zv1 for presenter style stuff. You don't need all that though. The key for ebike stuff is stabilized footage which gopro 7 on is good at. And decent sound without wind noise (put a fluffy dead cat thing on the mic). I use the mediamod on my gopro 9 which allows me to plug in an external mic but you could just get one for your phone and record sound there and edit together later.
Looks nice, but it needs a twist-grip throttle, not just an on/off switch, so you can go slowly, for getting through tight squeezes etc, as well as flat out. 25 - 30 mph would be more practical. A 49cc rev-n-rip will go 30, and more, if you know how to tweak it!
To clarify, if a 14 year old is driving can they go on the road and pavement? Or just pavement or just road? And is it still legal or have the laws changed?
14 year olds are meant to ride on the road. All bikes should be on the road at all times unless ridden by a rider 10 years or younger. Of course people don't all stick to that mainly because if you're going slow on a pavement no one ever gets into trouble for it. I shouldn't really have been on the pavement in this video but the bike itself and the camera making me look quicker than I am makes it look worse.
lol some comments are amusing and witty. And there's me thinking before i watched this, it was a light battery powered moped. Looks fun for some but too heavy, one gear and sooooo heavy. I can't get that indoors. Could well confuse the police if there were a few of them around especially london checking them out and wondering why there are no number plates on them, lol
Here in "Ass~Trail~Ya" we have had scooters on the local TV news channels with recordings of them whizzing past Cars going the maximum speeds 100~110Km/h on our freeways.. Needless to say the fines if now caught on a scooter going faster than 60 Kilometre's an hour have been jacked up..
Here in the States we have class one ebike, 750w goes only with pedals limited to 20mph allowed on bike trails bike helmet required under 17 yrs old. Cat2 750w pedal and throttle, limited to 20mph, allowed on bike trails, bike helmet required under 17. Cat 3 750w pedal only up to 28mph, not allowed on bike trails, bike helmet required for everyone. Moped, has pedals has to be registered, 3000 watts, no insurance needed, can go on secondary roads with traffic, cannot go on bike trails, limited to 30mph, motorcycle helmet required.
I have a 250w e-bike and it really is great, but I stand by my opinion that the 25km/h limit is too slow. By myself I can pedal the bike at 35km/h, and that feels like a good speed. Covers ground quickly, but still slow enough to avoid danger. 25 just feels too slow.
it may be nice but £1,800 is not a small amount of money. you really want to give one to your kid to take to school. 40 - 50 mile range. may be fine for delivery people. but not so much for kids since its far too much money for a kid to have it. more likely to be stolen when the kid is about to get on it.
i totally agree it would be great to out ride a chasing Crim. A kid will definitely get robbed for that just the same as they get robbed for everything else where i live- Phone - trainers - money - even their bloody take=away meal i kid you not. Great review
Thanks. Sadly crims are more likely to try their luck because it's scooter style too. They'll think they have a better chance against a scooter rider than a biker.

@@lolorick5885 Bikes are already prohibited from footpaths. The problem is (at least where I live) a lot of footpaths are now "shared use" for cyclists and pedestrians, which basically means the council had some kind of target for miles of new cycle paths, but instead of building proper separate cycle paths they just put up a sign saying you can ride on the pavement. Which is crap for cyclists because the surface is usually terrible, and crap for pedestrians becase you have bikes weaving around you.
My Samebike is 500w and unlocked does 25mph. With me on it 20mph. Pedal assist and independent throttle. Bought it and four weeks later they bring out a 750w version. Stuck a longer seatpost on it, air rear shock and adjustable stem. Could do with better brakes, better front forks and changing to a single speed. Electric=game changer!
you guys are limited to only 250w in the Uk damn over here where I live the limit for a legal electric bike is 750w without a license. but it does seem like this works though.

@@georgebarnes8163 I'm pretty sure the lawyers at Just Eat checked it out before putting their branding on them and letting their employees ride them.
@@gavjlewis obviously not as these bikes require registration, insurance and MOT, the rider must also hold a moped/ motorcycle licence and wear a type approved helmet, they can not be legally ridden on UK roads until the age of 16 years old as their motors exceed 250 watt continuous output classing them as a moped/motorcycle.
Where can i buy a second hand Escuta SX250 for a really cheap price? I think it's too expensive for around £1,750 brand new. I can buy a second hand 125cc motorcycle for less than £1,000.
What is the point of pedalling if pedalling doesn't do anything? Does it recharge the battery perhaps? And if pedalling doesn't help, you would have to push it up a hill.
The only point of pedaling is that there's a law that to qualify as an ebike and therefore not need insurance or registering the power delivery has to come from turning the pedals. The pedals on this don't really assist you with power at all.
It says its 250W for legal purposes and is restricted as such. electric motors for a CE or CA certification needs to be able to withstand a legal minimum of 1000v... now add that in with the 26Ah battery and well, you do the math my friend
why not more info on the spec of it ? Battery amps , what speed down a steep hill will it go faster than 15 mph ?, are there plans for knee wind deflectors ,,, put the machine on a tester to see the exact spec otherwise test video seems ok
I read up about the 250 watt thing. According to an expert in these things it's a misnomer. All that means is that the manufacturer has tested it by running it for a certain time and it doesn't overheat. So in theory you could have a 1000 watt motor and call it a 250 watt. There are commercial cargo cycles that carry massive amounts of weight and an ordinary 250 watt motor wouldn't pull the weight so that's how they get around it. What you need is torque to get up hills. And a bigger battery/voltage for distance. For the price that's not bad (
Yeah that's probably what's happened here. It needs that power as you say, it's 54kg so your average 250w motor would struggle to move it let alone get it up a hill.
I know it's not strictly legal... But could you get your hands on a Ride1up Revv1 750w e-bike? Would love to see you review it 'off-road' or in 'America' 😂
The rules for were grey to begin with but the ruling now is that the maximum output so peak power not nomial power is 250W, if it can pull 400w then its a motorbike not a pedal assist
it does not say anything about peak power, it say out put must be 250 watts, most motors will peak intermittently, stop adding laws that are not there. jobs worth.
I don't see any advantages to looking like a scooter, heavier, and slower than a standard ebike. You are also more likely to be pestered by the cops and gives the neighborhood more reason to make new legislation to prohibit these kinds of bikes.
Scooters are generally a bit more visible to drivers than pushbikes. Also the actual indicaters makes it safer than putting your hands out. It's also easier to ride for an older rider. It can also easily carry 2 people and climb hills way better than any legal ebike.
The throttle can only take the bike up to 6kph in the uk so bike companies don't bother putting the throttle on. I wish they still would as the initial start can be helpful as with the green button on the eskuta.
@@e-VRC you can get it type approved as a 250W LPM for £55 with a government MSVA inspection. All it needs are front/rear lights, a stand if over 35kg and you can legally have a full throttle, with it still being classed as a bicycle.

I'm pretty sure the motor controller on that has an open connector for a throttle so you can probably just buy one for it. Apparently it looks like there is a speed limiter wire on the controller that you disconnect to unlock the top speed. This is the video I believe you need th-cam.com/video/TVzN5mSBzwU/w-d-xo.html
***FOOTPATHS*** Although you shouldn't ride pushbikes the pavement people don't mind too much. I've ridden ebikes briefly on pavements in videos before and no one has picked me up on it. Don't forget this is not actually a moped. Pushbikes are not meant to be on the pavement I agree but we all know riders use them when the road is dangerous and people accept it. I think the reason it's getting picked up a lot in this video is because people are either forgetting or not realising that this is NOT a moped or motorcycle. It is an ebike and it's actually slower than the average ebike too AND has better brakes. I would NEVER ride a moped on a pavement! Despite that... I'm sorry for riding on the footpaths. I do address it in the video that I shouldn't be on them and that I go really slow when visibility is bad. I hope you can see that most of the time I'm on the roads. I only go onto footpaths when it's dangerous on the road for example when cars decide to drive right at me on narrow roads. In this video it was when cars were parked along a narrow road meaning cars wishing to overtake were driving way too close. Cars aren't meant to overtake if I'm going over 10 but they will anyway and dangerously too. I decided in this case I didn't want to die and I was confident that I wouldn't be hurting anyone else. I'll never ride fast on a foot path. I felt 15.5mph was ok in this case as the paths were so wide and visibility was good. 15.5 mph isn't fast but i agree that if I did hit a child at that speed it would hurt. Again, visibility was good and the brakes on the Eskuta are amazing. Also the high field of view that action cameras have make it seem a LOT faster on video than it is in real life. Trust me I would have seen any kid running on to the path... HOWEVER... I understand the rules are that I shouldn't be on the path so sorry about that. Feel free to have your opinion on it but any comment that's just plain rude is going to be removed. Unless it's entertaining 😊
I stopped watching the review as soon as you started tearing along the pavement like a hooligan. You address it above, but then just make excuses for why you did it. Not good enough.
This is crazy, the law needs urgent change. Kids will be on these things, not knowing how to ride on the road with respect to the laws and highway code, then getting themselves killed.
I would stay far from this kind of e-bike. It makes 17 miles with one charge. Had 2 batteries which made 17 miles each and the second one died after the first charge. My experience was terrible even if i got my money back after a lot of calls and 6 weeks.

@@e-VRC That's actually a decent speed. Wish this country would bump up the limit to 30mph but you need to be 16+.
Hi, I bought one of these after seeing your review. Great bike but can you adjust the rear shocks to stiffen them up, I’m heavier than you, cheers.
Have you managed to repeat going up that hill without pressing the green button yet? I am hoping to get this bike and will need to climb a 12% gradient also so it would be cool to see what speed it will climb at.
What a machine 😮🤟🤠💯⚡
the earlier models with twist and go throttle are way better in my opinion.
Twist and throttle gives optimum control when occasional riding on a pavement which I have to in parts of my city because kerbside potholes are so dangerous.
what is the Speedo app you are using? I've just bought the wife one for her birthday after seeing these at motorcycle live 2022
Great review and video...could I ask what app you are using on the phone with all the large digit speed, time, distance info I can first see at about 7:14 in the video? Or is it Eskuta specific? Thanks
It's just called 'speedometer' and it's free on the play store 👍
Hi so just watched your video on the sx250 do you know the range. I have a electric bike that I've upgraded the battery on and get 24 miles on one charge but it only has front suspension. The sx250 looks so comfortable
The range is about 50 miles but i want to test that. It is really comfortable. I'm really impressed with it.
@@e-VRC thanks for taking the time to reply now that would be a good watch to see the out come
Enjoyed the review.

Hi mate can you ride the scooter just on electric mode or you have to pedal it to make move ??
You have to be pedalling at all times. You aren't really doing any work yourself. It's like a pedal activated throttle.
They need do a mini version of this around the 600 mark would be slick bro🏆💚💚👊
Hehe it would! 👍
I can't wait for the full review it looks interesting, but I do like to use my throttle when I can get away with it 😊
All good unless you are involved in a collision...You'll be liable wether it was your fault or not, even if you weren't using the throttle at the time. Say a pedestrian jumps out from behind a car with no warning, you both end up in hospital, you will be held liable for injury and damages...As long as you know.

Thanks very much. Well it can carry me and my wife together so up to 160kg you should be fine.

Interesting bike, but are you riding on the pavements or are they shared paths? Thanks for the insight.
The holloway in wolves is another great hill to test ebikes on.
Is that the road that goes from Oddfellows to Westacres?
That motor looks like the same one that is used on my Ez-Mini road legal e moped lol mine has to be road registered and limited to 28mph to conform with UK moped laws. even all the lock beep noises is the same , bet the motor is capable of much more if there is an unlock hack/mode ?
yes, this ebike has an unlocking hack, just disconnect the limiter

Yeah it's so nice and comfy and the storage is decent too. And because it's a 'super torque' motor it doesn't struggle on hills like a standard 250w ebike does.
The reason you had difficulty cycling in that alleyway, is cos it was a " No Cycles" footpath! A good idea to concentrate on the signs when traveling and then do "piece to camera" when stationary.

There's a white wire u can disconnect and doubles the speed . It's in the plastics infront but above your feet
Do they sell these in America? Looking for EXACTLY this.
There might be the same thing from a different brand. I'm sure someone mentioned something in the comments.
What does this weigh? Is it being sold in the USA or only UK?
54kg. I don't think it's on sale in the US but there may be a variation from a different manufacturer.
54 kilos ! Wow that is seriously heavy. My e bike weighs 24 kilos
I doubt there would be much market for this in USA. It's designed to comply with UK/EU regulations for ebikes, which are much stricter than in America. There could be market for this in other places that use the same EU standard, such as Singapore.
Can you get a full faced helmet in the top box?
I have a question if i want to travel with it would it go on a bike rack or would it go in a car?
You'd need a really heavy duty rack. Like one that goes on the back of an rv/motorhome thing
Agreed, ebikes are definitely a game changer. Especially in different forms like cargo and 4 wheels with a roof.

Thanks! Great bike 🤟

Coming soon 👍
You didn't mention the gradient of the hill. Was it about 1 in 14?
About 1 in 8? Or 12%
This would only be of benefit to 14yr olds with wealthy parents.
For me it’s the price that’s a put off, £1700 for a 250watt, for £1700 I could get a really useable 50cc scooter with tax, MOT, CBT training all paid for doing 30mph completely pedal free.
what kind of cameras are you using? i do TH-cam to.
Have you tried the Cyrusher fat tyre range
They've contacted me twice to review their bikes and when I reply they never get back to me.
Looks nice, but it needs a twist-grip throttle, not just an on/off switch, so you can go slowly, for getting through tight squeezes etc, as well as flat out. 25 - 30 mph would be more practical. A 49cc rev-n-rip will go 30, and more, if you know how to tweak it!
so the pedalls are not conected to the back wheel ?
They are but it's really hard to pedal properly without any power.
Where did you get it from please
You order them directly from Eskuta in Nuneaton. This is a loaner bike though.
What ah is the battery also is there anyway it could be unlocked….
See vinnie gibbs comment below. I don't want to mess with it as I'm borrowing it.
When is e vrc going to review eskuta sx250?

How much are they to buy ?
£1799
Great e-bike , I don’t agree with the 14 year age some will not use this bike correctly.
anyone know how to derestric this bike? I want to get one but not if it's pointless
It's really easy. Disconnect a wire under the battery. But it kinda defeats the purpose of the bike.
So in otherwords you're best of just sticking to a normal bike to which you can pedal up to 30mph and climb hills 🤣
I love it 😮
I have a 250w e-bike and it really is great, but I stand by my opinion that the 25km/h limit is too slow.

The pedals on this don't really assist you with power at all.
no mention on how it copes with steep hills
Apart from when we took it up the hill?
It says its 250W for legal purposes and is restricted as such. electric motors for a CE or CA certification needs to be able to withstand a legal minimum of 1000v... now add that in with the 26Ah battery and well, you do the math my friend
great little thing ,but all i can see is that laws will be made against them ,for some reason
I reckon it will be fine. It's safer and also slower than an ebike. People even make ebikes look like little cars.
why not more info on the spec of it ?
I'd love to. They only sell in america I bet they wouldn't want to send one.
at 14 years old I was pedaling a 10 speed at 20mph... ebike laws over there so stupid..
The rules for were grey to begin with but the ruling now is that the maximum output so peak power not nomial power is 250W, if it can pull 400w then its a motorbike not a pedal assist
it does not say anything about peak power, it say out put must be 250 watts, most motors will peak intermittently, stop adding laws that are not there. jobs worth.
All road users should have to have insurance and as for a 14 year old riding this thing, utter stupidity!
Lmno ,do you take prescription medication 💊 😮
Around here the cops don't stop flagrant use of e-scooters, so I doubt they'd harrass someone on an e-bike.
You can legally have a throttle on a 250W e-bike in the UK (but not in the EU). I'm not sure why they don't sell a throttle for these in the UK.

Currently, you can legally buy an eScooter, but you can't ride it on the UK public road, cycle lane or pavement. The only place an eScooter can be used is on private land, with the permission of the landowner.

***FOOTPATHS***
Although you shouldn't ride pushbikes the pavement people don't mind too much.
Unplug the blue and black wire under the seat for de restriction
Correct, now I would like to see a comparison.
I would stay far from this kind of e-bike. It makes 17 miles with one charge. Had 2 batteries which made 17 miles each and the second one died after the first charge. My experience was terrible even if i got my money back after a lot of calls and 6 weeks.
