Thanks again ,love your stuff. I just discovered you .I’ve been binge watching ever since. I am 57 haven’t really paddle much in the last 10 years ,you are inspiring me to do a few trips this coming years ,sheltered, level two 3days 2 nights kind of thing.
@newfoundlanderonthego8729 thank you and excellent your getting the urge to get out and do some trips. Sheltered trips with a couple of nights out are great, less stress about what the weather will do🤣
Your video's always make me feel like i'm right there in the moment. I have a few questions if you don't mind... - do you ever encounter sharks. -How would you rate your tent. -What material is your kayak made of. Thanks again for all these great video's.
Thank you.😁 unfortunately, I've yet to encounter a Basking Shark, but I know they are in the areas we paddle.... I love my tent, A Berghaus Cairngorm 2 man, lots of good space for a tent that's not too big... my boat is Carbon Kevlar construction, nice and light for lifting on my car! Cheers
I'm fairly new to kayaking but I have been a surfer for over 50yrs now. I know how much motivation it takes to get in the sea in the middle of winter. Camping as well! That was hard core, nice one. You've inspired me to get of my backside and get out there! 👍
Thank you 😁 it's never too cold!! But sometimes you only realise you've had fun when your back home🤣... but this trip was fine, just a bit chilly at night
Thank you. The tent is a Berghaus Cairngorm 2. Im very happy with it, loads of useful space without being too big a footprint. Build quality seems good for a relatively inexpensive tent, Ive had a lot of use from it
Fantastic trip / paddle mate very interesting with some beautiful views, such a shame you had issues with your cam on day two. However, still some amazing video footage.
Spectacular paddle - though the two of you managed the cold is humbling. I even felt the chill in the light you captured on Day 1 - yeah I’m beginning to warm up now 🤣
Cool video in Cool conditions! We did a circumnavigation of Lismore last August ,a lot warmer but not as calm near the lighthouse! The colder weather certainly gives clearer views 👌
That is such a shame about the lost footage. Love this part of Scotland. Often look at Lismore Lighthouse and its bridge. Often wondering why as I don't think the next island is linked to Lismore or it appears that way from the ferry. We walked the Dogs down to Kerrera Ferry and it is the only time I have seen a Bin ferry. Really nice sea conditions from the footage that you did get. Enjoyable as always.
Fantastic video! What a great winter conditions. Loved those camp spots.. Something I would love to get to in future. Sea kayak looks like brilliant thing to explore those islands but I would need to take my two dogs with me so I think I will go for pack raft at this stage of my life. Do you think pack raft is something just to cross the shorts distances on water or can someone attempt bigger trip like you do on it? Thanks Jonas
Thank you. I'm not sure about a pack raft, I have no experience of such things, but yea, sea kayaks are great for such explorations, but no use with a dog!
Thank you... its a tricky one!.. how the sound balance comes across can depend on your device my phone , tv and PC all sound a bit different. I know some of my stuff in the past the music is too loud for the voice, and I think my most recent two videos it's perhaps too quiet. I thought this one wasnt too bad. Some people ask for no music which would be great, and much easier, but the sound of the sea and the wind and the heavy breathing gets a bit too much and seems to be very variable as the Gopro pics it up, water in the microphone housing I suspect... I will keep trying, cheers😁
Hi, I just use a gas canister ( Propane/Butane cold temp mix) and a single burner, nothing fancy. Always carry some spare gas and a small emergency burner as well, so guess I could get two pots going at once, but I never do that.
@@getwet501 Haha, this was a comment on a video about the Avro Lancaster, but the queue must have moved on before I sent it. Needless to say, I'm right though 😂 Great video about Lismore. I've paddled down to it from the north, but the focus of the trip was elsewhere so I didn't get chance to have a proper look around.
Well thank you😁 I used to live in Falmouth many moons ago, I used to surf in those days, I've not been back since, about 30 years ago!, I'm probably overdue a visit😂
Love all you trips it makes me realise how wonderful Scotland is
@stevehorner8302 Thank you😁 and yes, Scotland is wonderful
Proper camping trip.
Your exploits never fail to impress me, Bob.
@mairnealachamu thank you😁 yea that was proper camping🤣 Despite the cold I really enjoyed it

Thanks for sharing the trip with us. Very nice video indeed. Curious what tent you use. Looks to be a good set-up.

Thank you😁 we should try and sort something out, give me a shout on Messsenger sometime
The beauty of the islands and coast line that you always managed to catch is amazing. Cheers 👍
Thank you😁
Another great video Bob, like the "Skis" on the chair to stop it sinking into the ground. All best.
Thank you. Yea the skis are my own design, they work a treat😁
Cracking video, thanks Bob.
Thanks Alex😁
Thanks for another great video

Look! Will yer stop doing what I plan to do before I’ve done it! Infuriating! Envious, jealous. Luckily did Kerrera circumnavigate last season.
Ha ha, well tell me what your planning next and I will try and avoid it, or better, invite me along, and I will do a video for you😂
