    Okay but natural position is not always in front of your chest or stomach. When you're falling/sliding, the natural position is going to be stretched out. Classic engineer vs. mechanic situation.

  • @bairdbiz
    @bairdbiz 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +21

    Busquets foul is obvious from the behind the goal angle. That little twist of his hips is intentional to block the path of the runner. Did the Atlanta player dive? The rulebook doesn't care. Foul is a foul.

    Everyone acting shocked that MLS doesn't have goal line tech needs to calm down. There are a grand total of 7 domestic leagues in the world that currently use goal line tech.
    I'm also not sure they're going to want to implement it for the league until NYCFC gets their stadium built. Unless you want them to only use Red Bull Arena for home games when they can't use Yankee stadium. Cause I'm pretty sure no one wants to pay the set up costs for a stadium for just one game.

  • @jacobcriss5624

    Boy, “unnatural position” is doing a lot of work here, both for Abram and the DC defender. Having arms outstretched for balance while turning, sliding, running, challenging is perfectly natural. This interpretation of the law actually causes players to play with their arms in unnatural positions (tucked in, behind the back, etc.) and creates an undue burden on the defenders to AVOID their arms being hit, never an intention of the rule.

    • @dxshel
      @dxshel 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Exactly. Like how are people supposed to stay balanced and upright if theyre arms are behind their back. it makes it way more difficult. and every other play has their arms out to their side why does it only matter if its in the 18

    • @willn703
      @willn703 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Plus Pines (the DCU defender) there is turning and the ball deflects off his foot into his arm. His arm is in a natural position from turning his body and has no time to react to the deflection off his foot. That's ball to hand, not hand to ball. Admittedly, I'm a DCU fan, but that'd be really rough to any defender if that was given as a penalty.

    • @joereynolds5476
      @joereynolds5476 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They don't understand . They think a natural position is arms down by sides. Disappointing review.

    Allowing the late goal against SKC is both a poor defensive lapse and something that never would have happened if the right call had been made. Very well may have cost us 3 points in a tight WC playoff race. Unacceptable all around.

  • @t.b.flowers8903
    @t.b.flowers8903 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    Busquets - Foul. Beaten. Lunged sideways, put his hip and knee in the path of the ball player. It's contact, it's a trip, it's a hip check, it's stopping the attacker from having a chance to get the ball. Period.
    Have to trust that the AR was on the goal line and made the right call there on that Muyamba goal, but MLS doesn't have goal line cams for some reason.
    SKC foul was a tactical one. Player smartly just pulled him back slightly enough to ruin his run.. it's a foul.
    Choiniere on Kamara, he jumped two footed, and landed on the ankle. Got to be a red.

    Choiniere was given a yellow and rightfully so. He didn’t intend to hurt kamara. He wanted to play that ball but wasn’t quick enough and landed on kamara’s ankle. Plus, the game was still early, its pretty rare to see a red card so soon unless it’s not a blatant one.

    • @TheDuravida
      @TheDuravida 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I feel the same way. He was clearly pulling off the challenge. If he had stepped through that there would have been serious damage. Contact is going to happen when challenging 50/50 balls. A red card when there is clearly no intent is unacceptable in this situation.

    That Atlanta goal should not have stood, it’s hard to determine at first sight but upon further inspection you can clearly see between 2:03and 2:06 that the ball still retains some part of itself IN the line, not outside the line or in the goal, so it’s since it’s not completely past the line I don’t believe it should count
    Furthermore, that Busquets foul could count as a yellow card depending on the ref because intentional or not he did put his leg there which may have caused a player injury in the worst case scenario
    And lastly, it’s pretty clear to say that handball by Luis Abram was undebatable and a clear-cut handball, there’s been far more questionable handballs made unintentionally that still got counted so I don’t see why this one should be any different and not get called out

    • @MrCho14

    Oh man, come on Weibe… you were on point until the red card for choiniere. That is not excessive force or you would have called red on most of the plays you review. He was late and did not consider the safety of his opponent but not excessive. Also, that pull was weak but plenty to stop his advantage and allow the defender the time he needed to get ahead of reynoso. That one is absolutely a yellow. No argument at all for not giving that call. Refs screwed up. And I hate MIN. I want to see them miss the playoffs. So I’m glad SKC beat them.
