The orange thing is surgical tubing. They have tube lures for barracuda made the same way. They're supposed to mimic needlefish/hounding. Good information with the bubble rig thank you sir.

I see your gotchas there too! They're called croakies... idk if it's spelled like that tho. McDonald's straws with the two stripes work well too and are free!!!! But maybe not best for environment... but fishing in general isnt good for the water anyway. Lots of waste, cut lines, etc
I've seen different variations of this rig I like this one the best -- do you have a problem with tangling when you cast ?? -- I use this rig mainly for catching stocked rainbow trout and catfish

I only use a bubble bobbers for pistol Pete will rock the trout.🤫
Only change I would make is a quick change swivel on the lure end of the leeder

i run this set-up in Guam, better for areas with shallow water with reefs.
