I would say the people that are literally still having to go to work during to pandemic need some appreciation as well. Truckers, cashiers, stockers, and everyone that gets paid less then $15/hr in stores. Day in and day out they are at risk by so many just so people have food and hygiene products for their families.

What about the janitors?
As a spouse of a physician, I feel her frustration. My husband doesn’t even have access to PPE’s...not even masks. We’ve been diligent about trying to keep our household safe, but it sucks. He strips down in the laundry room, tosses his clothes in the washer and turns it on, wraps up in a towel and showers. Then I clean every door knob and washing machine button he touched. When his clothes are done, his beach towel gets washed. This is every single day.

Just a suggestion but is there no way for you to open all the doors for him preemptively so he minimizes hand contact with the house as much as possible? That way it will lessen the amount of things you have to wipe down after him.

The economy is a representing many different aspects of a society, that have to do with money and productivity. The statement that people's lives are more important than "the economy" is nonsense. People ARE the economy. The economy IS the people, the sum of their productive activities and the procurement of their needs. Hospitals, beds, ventilators, masks, medical facilities, drugs, even electricity. All these things need to be produced and then supplied by some people to meet the demand and the needs of others. Without things being produced, a supply to meet a demand, ppl don't get what they need, and nobody can help or save anybody.

@@kimmazvar Here in the UK, I make sure I use the self service checkouts if possible. I can then stay isolated, hopefully putting cashiers at slightly less risk. Also chip and pin cards mean less handling (everyone has these).

I'm a citizen in Wuhan and this is actually the same as what happened to us at the end of January. Doctors at that time are desperate because they didn't have enough PEE & some medical staff got infected when facing this unknown virus. I live in Hong Kong, an overcrowded city 4.5 hours travel away from the outbreak of Covid-19 in Wuhan. The day the first case was reported in Hong Kong, 95% of people had a mask on. It took me by surprise and I scrambled to get a box for myself and my family. The masks worked. Even now, months after the first case, buses and subway (MTR) runs as normal and people can still go to work. Hong Kong has 4 deaths since the beginning of the outbreak. Messages like these from health professionals have cost many many lives. Messages from governments, trying to cover for their lack of preparedness for a pandemic, has led to misinformation being fed to unsuspecting public. The evidence of the importance of everyone wearing a face covering was available before the first case reached Europe and the USA.

Staying home is easier to said than done. My work is still open. I'm a truck driver and I deliver supplies to a factory that makes toilet paper. My company is saying we are "on the front line" but I wonder if I should throw in the towel and quarantine myself. I go into offices to get paperwork along with other drivers from all over the country. I want this virus to go away and I feel like I am not doing my part bc I'm still going to work but on the other hand, supplies still need to be manufactured and transported so maybe my role is to keep working. I work in a 🇬🇧 hospital. Today I saw my first patient with COVID-19 🦠 face-to-face. Her family could not visit so I made sure I held and stroked her hand I when I spoke to her. When I said goodbye I stroked her head and reassured her. Not all places are the same, some are highly affected while others are not. So there is really no need to create more panic. Even if they show all these people are dying what else information do you need when you are already told there is a pandemic and you need to take extra steps in avoiding getting more sick? The fact so many people are dying in Italy has nothing to do with their health care system, but with the fact they didn't prepare and didn't expect Coronavirus can cause so much damage to Italy and plus most Italians live so long (they are more exposed to the virus), so there you go. And they live so long because of high quality of life and great health care they receive. It has nothing to do with "socialism" and it is not a "social" medicine and Italy is a "socialist" country.

@Urlas Hedout it's true though, having to reuse the same mask for days is disgusting and not safe especially when you have to enter a covid zone in the hospital, the way they are telling us to do is to wear the n95 mask and a regular mask over it, that way we can be able to use the n95 mask for a total of 5 days before we are able to get a replacement

I got an email today with plans to print masks (which can be heated and fitted to each persons face), each mask has a smaller filter area and 1 N95 mask can be cut and fitted into 6 printed masks. Look up Imagine that 3d covid mask and you can print masks and face shield parts...If you have clear 2 liter bottles you can cut them up for the shield part and print the rest.
I'm printing my first mask parts now and if it comes out well I'll print as many as I can.

Not really. They weren't the ones that put those laws in place. whiny patients, suing hospitals did. Blame them.

He is doing well and nothing bad has happened he lived through the Hurricane that his Puerto Rico lost his phone but I remember telling him his phone was Replaceable he wasn't.
So I am thankful and please do be careful if you do go out I've seen enough death in this world to have to see more even if this Virus is making my hope diminish that will blow over nicely.

we didn't know about this for months and a lot of people still believe it's fake. If you were paying attention to what was going on in mid-January in Wuhan, that's amazing and good for you but don't pretend. It wasn't until Italy broke out Feb 21 that people kinda started to take notice. That's just barely over a month ago.
