I was at this, they went on late, it started after 2:30am, was supposed to start at 2:00 am. Walked back to my tent with the sun coming up.
I am assuming that's when we had the real deal with going to see a concert?Ya know...the world today saddens me.It's the music (The musician's/artist's) that keep me sane.I am thinking you'd love to go back to that morning you walked to your tent? I was right up front for this! Very cool to see posted. After a long day of scooting our way forward, we were right in front of warren for this 2am Set! Oh memories had, memories lost lol
great blend of Zep, Joplin, Floyd, so much good soulful stuff. Loved the Zappa quote at the outset.
People May Forget What A Vocalist, Warren Can Be!!(With The Right Song And Quality Acoustic/ Set-up , Of Course) The Linchpin, For Over 25, Yrs, With The Allman's!! The Bridge/ Glue Holdin' It Together, Between The Dickie BETTS Era & The DEREK TRUCKS ERA!! ALL While ,Doin' Gov't Mule Since'95 , Along With A Myriad Of Other Side Projects.. ( Phil Lesh,etc)😮

I'm listening to this for the first time and all i can think is the Bass isn't punchy enough. Missing that heavy Thud. The Mule deserves a real kick. I wonder if they specifically wanted a different sound than Woody. Makes some sense for the jam band tunes, but not for most of their early originals.
Amen brother. I never liked him in Mule. GPJ could bring some of the Woody thunder.

Whatever led to Andy Hess departure from the mule, it sure wasn't the quality of bass playing or him not fitting the sound of the mule. But that's just what my ears tell me.
