You are trying to keep a lot of balls in the air right now, if you need to drop one, let it be this one. We will be here when you pick it up again, how many and how often you do them isn't important , your son is, the rest of your family are and you are. Wishing all the best to you and yours, especially your son. Take care and take time for the important things, love from a Brit in the depths of a France in lock down, missing and unable to visit her family in the UK - also in lock down. C'est la vie : )

You couldn't know how many times your "Just do 30 minutes" has changed my day, lifted me up. You can't know how much pleasure I have gotten from learning, FROM YOU!, the cut and press and sew lessons that have improved my quilting results including the joy I get from doing it right. I find that about 10 minutes in the bathroom a day with tears also works. You are minimizing what you are going through. Treat yourself as you would treat a friend who is dealing with what is on your plate.
You are pretty, you are good and you are loved.

As a cancer survivor i want to give you hugs. It is so difficult to watch someone you love go through this. You do what you can when you can. There are no rules and this time with your family is very important. My family was forced to watch Say Yes To The Dress, because that was all I could follow. My hubby bathed me because I couldn't stand long enough to have a shower. My son came home for lunch from school and made me soup, he was 12 at the time. You cope the best way you can. You laugh when you can. You hug often and you go day by day. Sending you love and hugs for all of your family.

Thank you for sharing. I'm so glad you are better now. I have a grandmother who was never predicted to see me alive, but she did. She told me when she was in her mid 80s that she determined to eat well and live. What did the doctors know? She lived to see my last child born 36 years post cancer to be 90 years and 4 months old when she died of old age. May you live a long life like my grandmother did!

Boy, I was overwhelmed looking at your calendar categories and all of my children are healthy, working, and well. Be gentle on yourself and don't expect more from yourself than you can do. These days are precious to you and your son as you are by his side during these hard times. Nothing on earth is more important than being there for your family and allowing them to love you, too. May we give you a bit of love that will encourage and empower you to not give up hope. Don't worry about the volgs. You are doing just fantastic! We will be here for each one in due time.

I was thrilled to see you posted this morning! I think everyone is happy to see you and hear about you and your family and projects. You are an incredibly strong woman, facing this incredible challenging time! I remember sewing in my closet and get the transferring from bed to sewing machine, but your projects are far more advanced than mine. You look great and we can wait until life turns back to normal for you to video tutorials. I like the stills you added to this Vlog, it's enough for me right now. I am a new quilter at 75...yes and I so love your videos and all the tips and organizing skills you have been sharing. I made a queen size quilt for my sister this winter after battling a nasty cold. When covid isolation came, I continued with quilting and watching quilt videos, organizing the little stash I have etc. My heart goes out to you Karen...and with tears I can only say I'm praying for you to continue to be strong and courageous and for being a blessing to all of us quilters. You are a delightful talented lady and may you feel the love today! Blessings!!!

Sending loads of love and prayers. We spent 2019 battling cancer--I say we but my hubby was the battle warrior 6 days a week for 7 weeks chemo/radiation. I was the positive thoughts and praying without ceasing, warrior. Surgery was successful and he's cancer free. These trials and tribulations are like a climb up Mount Everest.
I'll be praying for son, for your strength and the love that binds us all. Every step of the way, all those you have touched here with your quilting videos (which we adore) will be praying and sending healing positive thoughts to lighten your heart. Take good care of you.

Thank you, Karen, for being Real, for being honest, for being You. I only recently subscribed and don't get to watch as frequently as I wish. Yet, I feel as if I have known you for a very long time. Your Vlogs and manner of teaching have helped me more than anyone else, and I can't wait until retirement when I can really dive into quilting again.

Making the most of time at home ... painting the house, reorganizing the garden, spring cleaning cupboards and hoarding lots of unwanted stuff because the charity shops are closed. Sewing and baking, sewing, sewing. The weather is good here in Australia now so walking outside is also enjoyable. Our Queen gave a down-to-earth message of encouragement during the week, countering all the anxious, dramatic reports from the media. Stay well.

MEL JONES-its' like you read my mind with your comment, exactly my thoughts very nicely worded. KAREN, I don't follow many quilters here on utube but I can't tell you the joy you brought me when you & I both sat down together for coffee this morning. Then I saw your face & thought oh no what's wrong, I had no idea some of the personal issues you & your family are dealing with. I am so sorry the universal has chosen to give you so much at once to deal with. You may not feel like you are giving others encouragement at this time but let me tell you after I watched everything you have accomplished during this time I was motivated to get off my butt & stop using my minor health issues as excuses. If Karen can JUST GET IT DONE so can I. We never know how we will affect others in our daily life. You, Sweet Lady, have taught me to JUST GET IT DONE and today motivated me to continue to do so. Huge Thank you & Quilty Hugs to you & prayers for your family. Dee

The pandemic and its ramifications is making everything "not normal." So it's okay for everything to be chaotic! We are living in a very difficult time. Let's get through one day at a time and do what we can. And it doesn't have to be our best. Be gentle and patient with yourself. On some days we just have to get through the day. Our future is uncertain. So have a cup of tea/coffee/hot chocolate and breathe.

Wow! Bless you , dear lady, and your son. You are such a strong, honest, human woman. I know that your fabrics and your projects are a therapy for you. While I was undergoing radiation for breast cancer four years ago, I cut up my fabric for a curved log cabin quilt in red and white. I named the quilt “Radiation Therapy” because working with those luscious fabrics was therapy for me. I love your videos and your down-to-earth openness. Take care of you and yours and we will be here with bells on when you are ready. Meanwhile, I send you positive vibes.

Having watched what my husband had to cope with taking care of me during my cancer treatment, I know it’s the strength and love of the caregiver that drags the patient through the fight to the finish line. After my treatment, I didn’t quilt for years. My husband urging me to start quilting again and your videos have been an inspiration to me! Thank-you for all that you do! ❤️❤️❤️

Your Vlog was so honest and personal and you opened your heart to us. I hope you have found us a community of 'virtual huggers"! I reached out to the author of a quilt pattern I purchased in 2017 and just now getting to in the pandemic. She responded immediately because she was waiting in a hospital with her husbands brain tumor after her father died last night. She shared openly- again Quilters are a safe community. I realize you published this in April but I have been down w Covid myself. Better now...But more important I hope you and your family are recovering. We will be here when you return. xoxo

I LOVE your imperfections in all you do. It makes you relatable! Don't give it up! Please! Don't try to achieve some perfection!
It gives a soul (me) chance to say - 'that is life and it is ok'.
You are right - this is a stressful time, and then to throw in "extras" that seem like you are going to break.
We are rooting for you! We love you - even as strangers!
    💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

Sorry to hear about your son. We had to do that with my 4 year granddaughter (shave her head). The whole thing was devastating. She is 2 years in remission as of February. Sending our love and prayers. I can feel your pain.

I have no fancy words to lift the weight of the role of caregiver. I encourage you and your husband to feel whatever you feel each day. Everyday does not have to be a Superhero day for you. Sometime Eyore days are the best, days for recharging yourselves, reflecting, being afraid of the unknown and wondering about wondering what is next. Living days moving forward doing things by rote, pondering where the week has gone. It is perfectly fine to feel whatever you are feeling especially on the days you don’t know what you feel. For you and your husband, taking timeout together and each of you alone will be a hard task yet one that hopefully you can do every day~just stepping outside truly LOOKING at the season change. Five minutes, alone or together is timeout. As many have shared; you can’t take care of anyone if you don’t take care of yourselves. With all l have l sincerely hope your business is not threatened by the issues we as a world are experiencing. Whatever happens in a day have no regrets, know you did the best you could with what life has laid in your path and TRY to rest.. One step at a time.....God led you to this and God will lead through this. Prayers for your extended family. You have given so much so freely to so many. I was blessed the day l found you on you tube. You are special just the way you are. I truly appreciate you putting in the effort to share with us, to cry with us. We have today to walk, tomorrow will come soon enough. You don’t need a scarf for us to know who you are~you shine bright roots and all! In this time of trial l wish for your son to have doctors and nurses with clear heads and steady hands.

Dear Karen, just watched your video Quilting in Isolation which brought me to tears.
Let me encourage you & tell you, you are an awesome sweet Lady. I pray your son will be well very soon. I also pray you know the Lord, and how much He loves you and your family. If you can read Psalm 91 everyday out loud like medicine for your soul. When we put God first everything will come into order. It's ok we will wait for you and keep you in our prayers.

I just found you a week or so ago. You make my day. Your so real and fun. Keeping your son in my thoughts and prayers. I can’t wait for more fast, easy, and random videos and quilt patterns. I also started this year, bullet journal, fell off the wagon in April, masks took over my sewing room. ❤️❤️

Karen. I just love watching and listening to you. You have such an engaging manner and impart such useful information on your quilting videos. I haven’t seen your first vlog because I think this whole CV-19 has shocked us all and we’re coming to terms with it. This also means I am just learning about your son’s illness. You must be feeling terribly isolated and stressed. I send you warmest wishes for you both to manage at this precarious time. Your priorities must be your family, stay safe, until next time. With regards from UK ‘not very accomplished quilter’

I am sending you a HUGE sewing sister hug and as a two time cancer survivor, I am praying. On my knees for your beautiful boy. (yes, he has gorgeous hair) and for you. Without our faith, these times would be almost un-surmountable but thanks to a loving God, who will never leave us or forsake us, we will persevere as he walks beside us in this journey. God's blessings on you, your family and all you care about Karen.

Karen, thank you so much for taking the time to do this short update. Yes, we have been missing you, but the world is different for all of us right now and yours is even more so! Dealing and living with an ailing precious family member along with this pandemic has to be overwhelming at times. Just take one day/one hour/one minute at a time and don't worry about the VLOG. We love hearing from you, but your family, health, and sanity are so much more important right now and always!

Oh, my dear, your video brought me to tears. The pandemic is bad enough but to be going through your son’s illness too, I cannot begin to imagine how difficult that must be for both of you. My prayers will be with you, here in Australia. May God bless and comfort you and your dear son. Your tutorials have taught me so much. I’m retired now and able to try quilting which I’ve always wanted to do but working and raising children as a single mom left little time. Your strength and resilience and talent are a great inspiration. I will pray for you. Love from Australia 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
