Question my sister has 2011 jeep Ciara and it has automatic locks front four wheel drive. Would her hub on her jeep be the same the ones you put on your jeep. I've never replaced front hub bearings on anything 4wh drive.
I have a tad bit of play up and down on my wheel and a good amount of fluid on the inside of my rim. The shop said ball joints but they look fine to me. Could this be the issue?
You would have to check. Jack the vehicle up and put a long pry bar under the wheel push it up and down and look for play you should be able to see play in your ball joints. A bad wheel hub a lot of the time but not always will be noisy.
What made you replace it? Where you hearing any sounds? My front passenger is making a sound at some point each time my tire spins when driving. When it is jacked up I and I spin it don’t here it all. I’m thinking it’s the wheel bearing. Any thoughts?
It was making noises and had play in it. Jack up your rig and try to push the tire back and forth you should notice some play if it is bad. Sound can be another thing that makes it be bad

Stock wheel bearings can last different amounts of time depending on how much mud and dirt get into it. Yes that sounds like a wheel bearing. You might be able to heat grinding as well when the wheel is moving
Working on this as I type this, and the whole mf Axle came out with the hub. Is there a trick to getting them apart or am I going to have to replace the Axle at this point?
Hi, I couldn't get my speed sensor to budge. So I've sprayed it with DW40 and left it till next weekend. I have a suspicion that its the sensor that is damaged and not the bearing. Could this be the case? Thanks,
Those sensors if you still have the stock ones on they can be a pain to take out. They are cheap enough if you break one you are not going to break the bank. If it snaps off in there all you have to do is get a drill and run it in reverse with a small drill bit. you should be able to drill it out or get it small enough to where it will fall out. Just make sure you clean out all of the rubber pieces. its easy to check the hub if you spin it and hear a bunch of grinding and it doesn't move well then it should probably be replaced. The sensor will make the traction control light appear on the dash. If you buy a new wheel hub it comes with a new sensor as well. I hope that helps and if you have any more questions let me know.
That wasn't a bad job considering that is a New Hampshire Jeep. I have battled some rusted on unit bearings before. Nice use of zip-ties on the knuckle. :)
Howie DIY yeah I’ve battled a few too. I take them apart enough they come off pretty easy. ZipTies work great for keeping those abs lines. Out of the way

@@TheBeardedJeeper I just completed the repair and it turns out to be the amount of rust there was between the axle and bearing was a big factor in the replacement of many parts.
