Items are so marked up that even at 20% items are barely at the normal price you would get them for at other retailers
As a BBB employee whose store just closed, curb side pick up ended when it was announced the store was closing. Beware that the ‘new products arriving” most are NOT BBB products. They are liquidator products. My store closing was a 3 month ordeal and was extremely stressful so please be kind to the employees. We have no control when markdowns occur or the amount. Remember, all sales are final. So please, if you have any concerns about a product ask to check it out BEFORE you get to the cashier. At least in my store, if you were pleasant and kind we tried to help you out to the best of our ability. But if you act like an entitle jerk, no way. Also in my store we had signs plastered all over the store with regular/ discounted price. Please read these instead of asking the cashiers what the price is every single item. This will make your shopping easier for both you and the cashier.

My best story…my husband and I will pay for people’s meals from time to time. Well in a restaurant in a completely separate town, we paid for this family’s meal (we don’t tell them we are doing this) But when we walked into BBAB that person recognized us as we where walking in (he was walking out after his shift) He came in and told his manager about us. Come to find out, we had paid for the Assistant Manager food, so the manager was following us around in the store (creeping me and my husband out) Finally he walked up to us and aid, a person told us you are know to pay for people’s food, and I would like to reward that with 30% off your purchases today! WE WERE FLOORED! So it taught us good deeds do go rewarded. Blessings and Peace ❤️✝️

Too many good memories of BB&B to start!! I would like to tell y’all about a young woman working there when I used my final coupon last week. The customer ahead was trying to use up gift cards + coupons by buying virtually everything in the store. The EE spent 20 minutes checking her out, yet never got impatient. When I got to her she looked ready to cry. I told her I’m so sorry they’ll be losing their jobs. She then told me how her day started badly by discovering her car was repossessed overnight. Broke my heart.
PLEASE be kind to these employees! They’re losing jobs, they may be sole breadwinner of the family. Just be patient and show them some grace.
When I BBB was closing its stores. I ran to BBB near me, and it was already closed. I loved going to BBB because you can find the coolest items for your home, and getting a good deal with the %20 % off coupon made it a better deal.

I went on a "last hoo-rah" BBB shopping trip last week. I had a lot of $20 off $80 purchase and I saved $200! What did I do with all the rest of my $10 and 20% coupons? I wandered around the store and asked other customers if they had a coupon. I made some new friends and created surprised happiness for other shoppers who also were sad to see the end of our store.
Katherine, tell him about rotary phones attached to the walls and buying candy that was only a nickel and having to buy books and the paper because there was no internet! He is so funny!
Yes. The rotary phone with the pang of all the 8s and 9s in a number 😅😂
It makes me so sad to know the CFO committed suicide last year by jumping from his 18th floor NYC apartment knowing this was coming. A major chain going out of business was NOT worth this man’s life. If you shop at BBB as it closes, please think of him - Gustavo Arnal.

I just read that Tuesday Morning is closing as well. I stopped going to the one 25 miles from me because it was so junky... but 25 years ago they were a regular stop for me in the DFW area.

I remember Linens & Things. It was a lot like BB&B. The only time I shopped there was when there was a sale that I could also use my coupon. They were overpriced like BB&B. The saddest part is that the only baby only store will be closing as well.

Linens 'n' Things was to BB&B as Circuit City was to Best Buy.
Just a few years ago I won a prize at work. It was for a $50 gift card to anywhere in town. So I chose BBB as my preference and immediately went there for a new down pillow, which was $49.99! So I ended up paying just over $4.00 for the pillow! 😋
It was also the cheapest pillow that they had. I used to buy all my down pillows at Foley's because they always had great sales! How many of you remember Foley's, a great store that disappeared years ago! Sac's Fifth Ave, Montgomery Wards, most Sears stores and so many more have gone away forever! 😔 And we just lost Tuesday Morning! 😢

The "PILLOW" thing is why I stopped shopping with them. Funny to have found your comment and the use of PILLOW so many times, and yet it had nothing to do with MY pillow. 😉😉
We still have drive in movies here in the Los Angeles area. We have to drive out about 15 to 30 minutes. They have stayed in business by being swapmeets in the morning hours. During C-19 you could stay safe in your vehicle. Line got extra long. Even for re-runs. They do charg per person. Not like when I was a child it was per vehicle.
I remember Foley’s VERY well! Most of my 1980s early career wardrobe came from Foley’s (and Macy’s.) Good memories there, testing perfumes, buying my clothes and pantyhose, maybe a new pair of earrings. Thanks for the reminder.

From black and white photos in what seemed like an eternity, to color pictures taking over the industry, then not being able to afford black and white photos again.
And department stores we first shopped in at the beginning of our careers! Those funky outfits that have become popular again, purchased in stores that no longer exist. But we remember them vividly and fondly!
Finding that perfect pillow you could sink your head into until the feathers had escaped, to options so unsuitable for a good pillow fight! 😋
The generations who never experienced watching a movie from the backseat of a car! And we would pack the car with our favorite movie treats, from popcorn to hot dogs and hamburgers with an ice chest of our favorite drinks!
We have witnessed the turn of a new century and wonder how it happened so fast, wishing we had some of those items from a great era!
The days we used to wander through a mall filled with stores of yesteryear!
We have witnessed this new technology but wondered if it would survive the turn of the century. Y2K was the time we thought everything would be lost! But it only grew stronger and it's the only language some speak! It's now caused the demise of many brick and mortar establishments.
But it saved the day during COVID-19! A world stuck at home could have groceries again!
Surprisingly many people spent that 2 years remodeling their homes. Many installed a gym since they couldn't get out.
That two years of confinement changed the world forever! People got so used to doing everything online! Big stores started to suffer, small businesses shut down.
Online stores started offering overnight delivery. Some people haven't stepped into an actual store in over two years now. And now all we have are the memories of our beloved stores!
We still sit at home, staring at the computer. Wondering how a dress feels and if it will fit when it arrives.
Have you ever tried on clothes at Walmart? First you have to find an associate, even calling the store doesn't help. You wait 15 minutes for someone to show up and the fitting rooms are suddenly full. You better bring 3 sizes with you because you'll never get back in! Then you finally arrive at the checkout only to checkout yourself! 🙄
The phrase "Customer Service" is just a fond memory of how things used to be!
I've even ordered items online, thinking it would be easier. But you arrive at the service desk and wait in line. The only chance for human contact is still minutes away.
Yes we fondly remember when we walked into a store and a person actually greeted us! They assisted us through to the transaction and thanked us for coming in!
The world has become so impersonal! There are no interactions with actual people in the store!
I miss so many stores! I miss actual pictures in a photo album! I miss going to a movie and sitting in my car! I miss the 1900's before shopping on the computer was a way of life!
Kids today are growing up with a computer in hand! A six year old can program your phone and tell you what every symbol means!
I used a manual typewriter in high school, only the fast typist got to use the electric one! We were required to wear dresses and they had to come down to your knee! All you see now in school are shorts and hoodies with a backpack and a phone in one hand!
Sorry for getting so nostalgic but it's hard to say goodbye to so many things we loved! I feel like I just traveled back in time to so many things that were almost forgotten.

I didn't realize how much BBB walked me through my life! Moving into my school apartment, to my wedding registry, to my baby needs, they were there for all of it! I'm going to stop by for nostalgia sake 😢.
Mine already closed! 😮 My daughter and I went in and were able to get her a queen sheet set and a number of other things all for $20!!

You have to spend $50 at Big Lots in order to use the 20% off coupon. Still not a bad deal if you need stuff, especially patio items.

Years ago when I moved to a two-bath home, I was so excited to pick out a pretty new shower curtain from BBB. It was like a sign that I had Arrived. It still looks great and makes me happy.

A few fond memories early on, sometimes an unusual item, but they've been overpriced for many years. Not surprised they're closing.
Core memory: We registered several places for our wedding, but returned all the unneeded items to BB&B because they returned everything for either cash, or store credit!
Oh that giggle at the end when you told him about Blockbuster! lol I also worked at Blockbuster as a teenager and my kids think it's hilarious too that we would have to go to a physical store to rent movies.
What will future college students do? It was so nice to select everything from home and have it ready for pick up at the BBB near the college . I also love shopping during the holidays for decor and entertaining dishes , utensils, etc.

I too am having a nostalgia rush at this news. I remember getting after christmas deals on great stuff. I used to go there several times a week when they had a branch that was literally on my way home from work. Got a lot of bathroom stuff like soap dispensers and waste baskets. So many sheets and comforters. I am going to miss this chain.
Big Lots are on the skids too. May not be around to long either. I love Big Lots. Getting rid of inventory with Bed bath and beyond? I think so.

I won’t give BB&B a dime of my money but I will say that it sad to see so many stores closing because of online shopping! I love going it to stores to actually see the item feel it try it on…. I remember the many years I would wander a very full mall at Christmas time picking out presents for all my friends. Two of my stops would be the Walden Books and the Barnes & Nobles (we had both in the same mall). Then times changed and I distinctly remember making the decision to not physically go anywhere to buy Christmas presents. The first time I sat at my computer and said to myself what would so and so want? And going down my list and getting something for each person. I visited the mall on a Saturday a couple of months ago. I only saw 3 other people.
I prefer to personally go in touch and try things get in line and purchase. I don't like doing self check out.
I see this is probably the way things are going. VERY SAD😢

When I was in a hospital bed & wheelchair throughout law school (before I had surgery that helped me walk again), I spent a small fortune at BB&B! I'd never spent so much for bedding in my life, but the comfort & quality was insane for the high profile brands. I got a down pillow for $75 that I was in love w/& still have today. I also bought comfortable sheet sets w/high thread counts bc I wanted to be comfortable while trapped in that bed studying! Since then, I've been willing to spend more for a good night's rest bc sleep is one of the most important things we do for our health. I won't buy microfiber sheets ever again for this reason. I may not buy new clothes that cost a lot of $, but I will spend more on bedding - sleep is one thing I don't scrimp on, + good quality lasts!

We were there last Friday, just to find a few little things. I’m so sad to see all these stores closing, I like online shopping but I still like going into a store. Sometimes I don’t want to wait for my purchase, I want to bring it home now.😢
Maybe note that many of these stores are already closed. The one nearest me closed in February! I was so excited from this video! I'm glad I went online to check hours before I drove 45 minutes for the deals. Lol. BBB been dunso here for 3 months!
We did our wedding and baby regestry there too :). My mom would send me huge minila envelopes full of the expired coupons and when I would go I would bring the huge batch and as I waited online to pay I would walk up to whoever had their cart the most full and give the coupons - one lady actually cried, made me feel so good! My favorite Bed, Bath and Beyond memory was buying the most beautiful shower curtain with gold shower curtain hangers - the good expensive ones that I had always wanted. When I got them home, I put up the curtain; and there was something missing. I didn't care for it at all in my bathroom. So, I ended up giving everything to my best friend Turns out, it looked perfect in her bathroom! So, every time I visit, I get to see the beautiful curtain; and I always compliment her on her exquisite taste! ; D
I shopped there before they closed down. I got candles for cheap, lamps, ect. They've been closed for 2 months now. Im happy to hear I maybe able to shop online.

Back in 2014 Christmas my late husband and myself went to BBB in Paducah Ky. I had so many coupons that day. My husband said I can’t use but one and the cashier and I told him you can use more than one. The cashier said just watch and after everything was done he was amazed
That was the last trip and Christmas with my husband. He passed Jan 12 2015. But with the day we spent together and everything we did that day it was a fantastic day. I will miss BBB

It's always so sad to see places go out of business. I think of the employees, especially those who worked there for a long time. I worked for a bit at Tuesday Morning which is in the same process of closing all their stores. Bed Bath and Beyond became too expensive for me to shop in at one point but before that I had enjoyed shopping there.
Our BB&B closed a long time ago here in my city in Az. Now in its place they are opening a Home Goods ! Yay 🎉I’m so happy since my nearest HG was like an hour away !

I always loved their towels, and Croscill comforter sets. I still have BBB coupons! I saved them all, like you said, they never expired! Sad to see another store close.
It is sad, this was always a place I found unique christmas gifts at. I'm going to miss them too.
Fave memories were walking around the store shopping on a girl day with my mom and younger sister looking at styles we'd like to have in our future homes.
Then when my husband and I bought our first home, we went shopping there on black Friday and bought our Dyson and kitchen aid mixer and our shark floor steamer.
They also sold my favorite travel pillow which was actually a pillow not the memory foam kind. I still have one but don't know what I'll do when it dies lol

Feeling nostalgic regarding Hills, Sears, Borders and my old favorite Pier 1 Import. Our local Bed Bath and Beyond in Pittsburgh has been closed for awhile but the space will soon be opened as a Hobby Lobby so I guess its still a positive.
The closing of the last remaining Sears in North Carolina was announced a few days ago. It's about 2 hours from me, and I'd been intending to go before the announcement. I'm not sure if I want to go now.💔
We shopped for clothes at Sears when I was growing up and for years afterward. I bought clothes for my nieces and nephews there. Almost all my Dad and uncle's tools came from there. Most of our household appliances were bought there.

My best BB&B memory is my mom and Godmother taking me there to get towels, linens/blankets and other household goodies when I got my first apartment. Years later, I still have some of it.

If people want brick and mortar stores, stop shopping online. I detest online shopping, going through all the hassle of sending things back and if I could have seen it in a store, would not have purchased it in the first place. And sometimes online stores will charge a restocking fee, so customers who are already unhappy, will never order from these places again.
I try good old brick and mortar as much as I can but some of the smaller markets in can be a long drive to find stores selling higher quality items. But in principle I agree. It’s hard to find new authors without bookstores to browse especially since Amazon made books so hard to find unless they are doing the suggesting

I have been to 3 of the stores in the last 3 days and they all were practically stripped. One store was loaded with a bunch of shipping boxes containing Tupperware Essentials. Once they increase the discounts I might go back and see if any of the Tupperware is left.
Mine was basically fully stocked- and prices where still ridiculous. I am sorry for all the employees who are loosing their jobs. I stopped shopping there years ago - cute items for too much money!
