    Love it Brian! Remember as you see the opportunities developing in front of you don’t loose control. A new buisness is suppose to give you life and not suck it out of you.limit your growth to what you are comfortable with, and your family, it’s the hardest part. I’ve coached many new buisness owners and those who take the slow controlled steps tend to sustain the onslaught.....I almost kept typing here lol and realized you have better things to do than read this comment, meant in a good way. Keep doing you brother, so far you got this. If you ever need anything don’t hesitate to reach out.

      Yeah for sure. I have worked most of my life 10 hour days and such. Working for myself has changed how I work (last 15 years or so) I am never really 'off the clock' but I do love what I do. I am just getting setup and will delegate these things over time once I can train someone how to do it right. And you are right, I could hit burn out status quick if I don't do something different. Brian thanks for taking the time to write to me. I appreciate that very much.

    Brian, I love what you are doing for all makers! A belt grinder is such an awesome tool, and making your design so simple and accessible is going to lead to awesome things that we can't even conceive of, yet. You are helping to build a brighter future for everyone. Thank you!

    You have your hands full with your 2 x 72 grinder! Most people will agree, you have made a top notch machine that is in reach financially to most. There are others available, but yours is approaching the “Gold Standard Mark”! I have said all of this to say you are missing something in your kit, that a lot of us want,and need, but again we can’t afford. A surface grinder attachment! Red Beard’s Ops has researched and built one here on TH-cam. This would be a great addition to your shop and every knife makers! If you refined and got it into a parts kit like your Revolution grinder, I believe it would be a perfect fit in your Company. I know you a refining yourself grinder, but this would be a nice addition to your production!

      Yeah man!! That is a whole other adventure. J over at RBO really nailed it. I’ll have to deconstruct one to see how it works. 😁

    I Like!!!! I hope you don’t mind bro but I’m waiting for you to get it added to the bundle. I’m a rancher here in Oklahoma in the middle of spaying for weed control for our pastures and hay meadows but as soon as that’s caught up I’m placing my order , your awesome can’t wait to assemble my grinder a welcome addition to my metal shop!

    Hello Brian, this is a good improvement for the platen mount. I'll try and cut out some of these and see how they weld up. Glad to hear your crossfire is in. You will be very pleased with what it can do. It will speed up your development time.

    Hey that platen looks great but I've got a porta band with the swag table so I'm just gona use a piece of angle. Keep up the great work and the awesome videos.
    Btw if you and your wife are doing the stickers with the "screw it let's do it" I'm all in

      I have the same. Milwaukee deep cut and swag table. I cannot get square cuts because of a slight blade twist. I cut all the square tubing with it and had to spend hours on my HF 1x30 just to square them up.

      Yeah man, that will work fine. I have done that too. I have some screw it stickers coming as well. :)

    You'll eventually provide the cut steel for the tracking mech and the platen separate from prior steel packs? Is that in your foresight?

    • @HouseMadeUS
      @HouseMadeUS  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that is the plan. If I can get the CNC up and running I can prototype the parts then send them to Dallas for mass production.

    Hi Brian. I caught a few of your videos on TH-cam. But I can’t figure out what your website is. Can you tell me?
    Also, do you sell parts to make your 2 x 72” belt sander? I like your design but don’t have the equipment to fabricate everything. Please let me know.
    Thanks,

    I would like to see the two main wheels on the platen of different sizes, perhaps a 2-inch wheel, and the other as small as possible. If the whole assembly could rotate to three positions a larger wheel could be fitted and another platen with say a 36'' radius for s-curve knives. Great work Brian and thank you for what you are doing.

    • @HouseMadeUS
      @HouseMadeUS  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great idea and congrats on getting that plssma cutter awesomeness. Hey just a thought on that printed motor wheel. I was thinking if your center was conical down to say 5/8ish then flatens out and becomes the outside of the wheel. I think this would lighten the piece without loosing strength. If this is a good idea let me know. Takecare and keep safe

    • @HouseMadeUS
      @HouseMadeUS  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah that could work. I need to soak this wheel in some resin and see if it has some staying power. :)

    Thanks for another great video. I am waiting for my parts to come in and I think that would be much better then the angle. I will keep an eye out if you start selling that as a kit. Maybe you will start selling them by the time I am ready for that part.

    The problem your experiencing with your idler pulley’s and why it’s binding up when you tighten the bolts they’re not designed properly if you’d like me to go into detail let me know. Jim

    • @HouseMadeUS
      @HouseMadeUS  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      These wheels actually don’t bind up. They have a center spacer in them that keeps the side load at bay. Unless you have a better solution?

    • @jimjackson9381
      @jimjackson9381 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      House / Work
      In one of the videos that I watched on your build you said you had to be careful tightening the bolts that went through the idler pulley‘s because of over tightening would bind the pulley if the inner spacer between the two bearings is manufactured at the right size it doesn’t matter how tight you tighten the bolt you will not behind the bearings and the pulley will spin just as free as if it wasn’t tightened at all. At my job at work I rebuild and repair spindles and as the inner spacer wears they have to be replaced over tightening can cause them to crush and lose size it doesn’t take much to bind up the bearings. Jim

    • @HouseMadeUS
      @HouseMadeUS  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ahhh yes, those wheels didn’t have a spacer, I now have wheels that include that center spacer. Makes a lot of sense Jim, thanks for sharing your knowledge. 😁👊🏻

    Brian, it will cut the pieces you want it to with the geometry of the pieces. The only thing that it will probably not give you, that you’re used to, is nice square crisp cut lines. On smaller pieces the kerf can become almost “angular” or “walk” to the point that some cleanup will be needed. I will say though, that does depend on the thickness of the material being cut. It’s a good design though! It would really lend itself nicely for TIG welding. I can’t wait to make one!

    My only comment is that I would keep the platen bolts further from the wheels so it offers less flex in the middle and more space for bolt access. Also, cut the protruding back edges of the pivot plate to clear the belt when tilted if the track goes off. That 3/8 plate is very strong. I tried to twist a 3/8 by two piece, 8" long with a two foot adjustable wrench, and couldn't budge it. I built my own just now and learned a few things the "more labour intensive" way.

    • @HouseMadeUS
      @HouseMadeUS  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good suggestion. I’m trying to not modify the D plate any to make this work. I’ll see what I can come up with. 👊🏻
