I think AtGames was actually hired by sega to make some stuff for throw back systems, like this handheld, a genesis player (that allows for actual cartridges to be used) and a version of the game gear with the same build as this

Actually at games and sega licensed these things. There's also a Sega Genesis flashback which looks exactly like a Sega Genesis console and it had a lot of games on it. As well as some bonus games and most of them are in HD quality and HD speakers

AtGames actually got permission from Sega to make that. They also made a Sega Genesis TV console with the same selection and the addition of a cartridge slot that plays actual Genesis carts (doesn’t work with Lock-On carts though......☹️).
