@@Kenshiro3rd Mind you they only noticed his signal at the very end of the game because of the assumption the "Master" they were talking to was the real one so it makes sense they didn't bother finding that out until after the possibility of Naomi being a spy came out into the light. With Dr. Clark there was no active impostor impersonating him/her/them for Campbell and co. to investigate Naomi's words.
@@javiervasquez625 also don't forget that technically Naomi and Vamp, by MGS4, weren't really "alive" anymore either. They were literally kept alive by nano machines. Naomi could have killed Dr. Clark prior to this, and used her for two years also to perfect the nano machines to keep herself alive in MGS4.

That was my first thought. It creates some wriggle room for a longer chase rather than having everything crammed into a few days. And it would explain what he was doing before he started chasing Snake.
That would be rather depressing though she was so sweet and positive back in MGS3 i wouldn't understand how could such a positive and cheery moviegoer like her turn into such a cold sadistic mad scientist. Not even Ocelot suffered such a drastic shift in characterization to justify Para-medic becoming a villain.

As for the villains of Metal Gear been "a bunch of goodballs" in MGS3 all 3 of them (Zero, Para-Medic and Sigint) already showed a level of mania and shadowy behaviour in their respective fields which planted the seeds that would lead to their desire to use their knowledge and influence to control people's lives and in turn the entire World. MGS3 Zero was obsessed with spionage and the control of information becoming the head of the Patriots, MGS3 Para-Medic was obsessed with genetics and creation of "supersoldiers" leading to the cloning of Big Boss and her research on gene therapy and MGS3 Sigint was all about weaponry and the US military superiority over foreign nations leading to his creation of the Patriots's AIs and his staunch belief in nuclear deterrence. All 3 characters were FAR from "goofballs" to fit you're interpretation of their descent into villainy.

You know, someone needs to create a novel/comic series that focuses purely on the founding members post mgs3. It’s very, very hard to believe the cute medic on your support team later went on to become a morally corrupt doctor. So if that’s the case, why can’t we see it?
We got to know a little about how Zero is post patriots in TPP and 4 but quack is who I want to see.

Same about Donald Anderson/Sigint becoming a corrupt bussiness accepting bribes from weapons manufacturers and firmly believing in nuclear deterrence despite belonging to a shadowy organization which itself had the ability to prevent nuclear proliferation in the world. Can't understand why such a guy would drop his morals in the name of greed and the risk of nuclear war.
Portable Ops on PSP will answer some of those questions, it does a solid job filling in the gap between MGS3 and Peace Walker

Beautiful editing , perfect capture of cutscenes and very interesting theories that make even me a stalwart MGS purist who doesn’t really go for any theories that aren’t presented in the game , stop and think twice about the series I love so much

Agreed, Pythonselkan's content has always been top tier. They've made video essays before they became the norm. I think the fact that the man himself Kojima praised pythonselkan's quality says a lot.
I always assume all lore isn't final, and that character statements can be lies or even the character themselves may believe something untrue to be fact and might spread that untrue statement to others who in turn also believe it to be fact, there's actually a lot of lore like this in Sci-fi and fantasy, if you have a good imagination, it's easy to legitimize retcons, especially in kojima games because you know if he ever got wind of this that kojimas already got a pretty good idea of how to turn that retcon into a non-retcon just by creating a few twists the audience would have never thought of, and its honestly fun as hell thinking of all the ways kojima would have fixed this retcon if he still worked for konami.
The magic of Kojima's writing, keeping us guessing and theorizing for years.
True, it's a shame there are so many closed minded fools still in denial who think MGSV's story is simple, and that we're the "crazy" ones thinking otherwise. Pythonselkan are the GOAT for opening everyone's eyes

Even more intriguing is Para Medic's shift in personality after MGS3.
I would love to see the story of her descent into evil.
She never turns evil. She's just doing genetic experiments and working toward the goal that Zero had set. It's all gray area. Gray Fox was a biomort, like Solidus in MGS4. We don't know how or when his mind began to recover or if it wasn't just a trick of nanomachine programming.
I mean she kind of hinted in mgs3 she was going to experiment on big boss' body.
There was a codec call in which she found out that naked snake took part in the bikini atoll experiments. She didn't know he was already infertile from it, and jokingly said that he should think about leaving offspring soon. And then proceeded to talk about genes and how the genes of the greatest soldier should definetely be passed on so they can have an army of "greatest soldiers".
I'm not saying it kinda breaks the 4th wall, but it kinda breaks the 4th wall.

Was she really evil though? One could argue she justified the cloning of Big Boss and the mutilation of Grey Fox as a "necessary evil" in the name of scientific research and maintaining the Patriots's hold of the world. Seeing as we never heard Para-medic's side of things we can't simply brand her actions as "evil" based solely on what we've seen and heard about her up to MGS4.
@@markb7595 She may have developed megalomania like Zero considering her research on gene therapy and the fact some of her dialogues in MGS3 suggest she believed in Eugenics and the concept of a "master race". She may not have wanted to harm people in a global scale but she was certainly willing to experiment on people to achieve her megalomaniac goals.
This channel is the only TH-cam channel still keeping the series alive, even when Konami won’t jack shit with it.

Seeing the rebirth of Silent Hill with such a bang, makes me hopeful that new things are coming for Metal Gear. For that to happen Konami will have to seriously kiss ass to their fans though, I doubt anyone would accept a new Metal Gear game without Konami and Kojima reaching some sort of understanding or at least leaving what happened behind.

This has been on my mind for a while, but she might've been the wife of Dr Clark which would've labeled her as Mrs. Clark or Dr Clark might be a unknown individual maybe an alias Kojima has a lot of cool hidden mysteries in the MGS franchise, I would've said that para-medic might've been a relative of Dr Clark for all we know.

1. I want a Gray Fox game. I’d love to properly play him as a Cyborg Ninja.
2. I always had a disconnect from the characters in MGS 3 being the villains of the whole story. They were too good and fun in MGS 3 for me to believe that.
Naomi is lying in most of the codec calls. The master plan to wipe out Zero's allies was realized in 2005 during the Shadow Moses incident. Gray Fox killing Clarke likely happened very recently under the orders of Eva and Ocelot.
Isn't that Dr Clark male a translation error?
I remember seeing something that in the JP original text Naomi never gendered Dr Clark, and the English team just assumed Clark to be Male.

The big mistake was ending at episode 49 .
Maybe Dr. Clark escaped the lab before Gray Fox could kill her. And maybe she was actually killed at Shadow Moses by Fox when he first got there as one of the three people he killed. And maybe Naomi assumed the lab explosion in 2003 killed the doctor.
A bit convoluted if you ask me haha.

the V in MGSV means VIRTUAL, Venom Snake is dreaming all, Real Big Boss go into coma around 1972 as Liquid Snake said in mgs1, theres alot that has not benn saying into this V series of GZ and TPP
Well we can't take Naomi's word, she also said frank died that same day, she was a spy and we can't take her word for anything, they kept frank under experiments for 4 years but it does not mean that he wasn't on active duty for the patriots for a couple more years, he might have killed her shortly before shadow Moses incident as to escape, it could be that the patriots plan was to some how let frank know that snake was going to be there, so activating those feelings that pushed him to do anything to fight him again which could also be due to the patriots programing, mgsv might actually be telling us the truth behind those words Naomi said, if she had said that frank had just escape hours ago it would have raised a diferent set of questions that might have blown her cover, she was an pawn for the patriots who staged all of shadow Moses they have been using frank for a while after the experiments I think they controlled Frank's brain 100% all the time they killed Dr. Clark right before shadow Moses and instructed Naomi to disclosed falsified information as a decoy to keep the light away from them

Throughout the story of metal gear we meet 2 Emmerich's Hal and Huey. Who's to say that 1 Dr Clarke is not just continuing their predecessors legacy? Much like Huey/Otacon

just finished MGSV and I'm glad to have found your channel!
its very easy to explain why naomi calls paramedic a he. you see back in the day, people would call he anyone they dont know the sex of. in-universe, its because naomi never met her.
It's always possible she did met her and like everything else about her fake identity she simply lied about it.
What if there’s an actual second Dr. Clark that was actually a male?
Or thats just how they said they dont want to talk about it more and the story is complete and thats just fine.
We didn't see Dr. Clark's death... but then again didn't see her survival.
Remember that Gray Fox was kept drugged for quite long and went insane. And the lab was blown up. Wouldn't be suprised if during his frenzy Fox could just think that he killed Clark or created situation when he was sure he did, but in reality he didn't. Or possibly it can be another "fiddle" scenario.
¿Wouldn't have Naomi made sure to figure out "he" was dead to prevent Grey Fox's escape to be known by the public? I doubt Naomi would have been able to lie so easily with Para-medic becoming a threat to her plans of killing Snake as revenge for Grey Fox's original death.

Metal Gear Solid 6: The Clones of Liberty.
Itll be amazing to see a metal gear game made similar to gta5, where u can switch to big boss, eva and grey fox, during the Vietnam war area. I enjoy jungle warfare the most, and that's around the time president Kennedy allowed us to make special ops more prevalent such as the green beret, navy seals and seal team 6 a few years after nam. Eva disappears around that time, Big boss was a new soldier and wasn't a green beret yet, and I don't know too much about grey foxes where abouts at that time.. but the more realistic kills, the ability to switch characters, and the story line/ time line might reveal some secrets about paramedic,because paramedics were also new during the Vietnam war too.. hmmm, maybe snake night run into her if he gets injured and there is a video to watch as they meet. Still so much to add to metal gear ;)

I think many things in the continuity were scarified in MGS5 for the story to fit...I don't have the exact year in mind...But in the story as far as MGS1 I think says Zero didn't want to lose the great soldier ever after being almost killed so he started the Les Enfants Terribles project...That incident is when they were attacked on the Mother Base at the end of Ground Zero, the years don't fit with his coma, am_i correct?
We also have Liquid Ocelot randomly lying to Snake about Big Boss being "in his late 50s when they made his copies" despite Peace Walker confirming Big Boss got cloned in 1972 at which point he would have been around 38 years old.
No, Les Enfants Terrible project starts in 1972, and that's when Big Boss leaves the patriots to start MSF

To be honest I don't think this wasn't a mistake at all Believe me I played every metal gear game ever released Yes that also includes metal gear rising revengeance and there are times they actually referred Dr Clark as a he and as a she so maybe what if Dr Clark was actually a man but changed his gender into a woman? It's the most logical sense I think Dr Clark changed his gender to avoid being held accountable for experimenting on test subjects and there is one detail I don't think nobody noticed but me there are times female Dr Clark sometimes didn't even act like a woman she acted more like a man did anyone notice that?

What if Dr. Clark is Decoy Octopus?
Doesn't have to be a rettcon. Clark's death could have been greatly exaggerated. Naomi even refers to Clark as "he", so in all likelihood, she didn't personally witness her death. Clark is described as paranoid, preventative measures aren't out of the question.
If that is the case, then I'd assume that Revolver Ocolot is probably the one to have personally killed both Clark and Miller, probably because of their connections. Couldn't say exactly what clark could have been doing in those 2 years. Possible maybe that Clark was in a coma or some such from injuries sustained from the explosion.
Edit: actually, now that I'm starting to remember more, Ocolot kills the DARPA chief himself too, doesn't he? He's definably the one that killed Clark, no question.
The plot is a mess and I'm never going to be a fan of the reveal of who venom snake is
But this is one of my favorite video games ever. It is just so damn fun to play and for me infinitely replayable, even just the basic side ops I love to replay and employ different strategies
I have a hard time picking between MGS3 and this one as far as which one my favorite in the series is
Both are followed closely by The twin snakes because I'm one of the weirdos who prefers it over the original
I think overall as a complete package I have to give the edge to metal gear solid 3. It's just more tightly designed in the story department and pacing
But MGS5, very few games have I dumped the amount of hours into that I have with this one
the best game that couldve been potentially made, was killed in the womb during infancy. sad.
At this point it doesn't matter if she comes back, because if the story is not made by Kojima, I will not consider it canon anyway.
My Thoughts:
1.) The "mistake" wasn't a mistake. Naomi flat out lied about when Clark was killed. Miller/Liquid flat out stated & called her on that. She was also caught in her lies later in the game. So I always assumed she lied about that too. As to her motivations. I like to think Naomi kept, tortured, and experimented on Clark for two years the same way Clark had done to Frank. It makes sense, given what we know of her, her skills, goals, and her motivations.
2.) In regards to Dr. Clark's "retconned" gender. It's well known that the Japanese version of MGS used always used genderless pronouns in regards to them. In effect they were kept intentionally genderless. This was changed in the English localization due to a lack of such conventions among English speakers (at the time). So Paramedic being Dr. Clark wasn't a retcon, so much as the explanation for why everyone assumed she was male was.

@@javiervasquez625 No, other way around. Said poor Rhodesian girl with a fake identity torturing Paramedic/Dr. Clark for what she did to her “brother”, and making the punishment fit the crime. Hell if anything Paramedic got off easy compared to Frank. She got two years while Frank got four.

I would have expected her to shoot her in the head and be done with it instead of torturing the woman for years with no end considering what Frank would think about her. Naomi doesn't strike as the kind to have such a grudge against anyone if her relationship with Sunny is anything to go by.

Naomi would never betray her brother like that by becoming such a monster like Volgin.
MGS stories were always about misinformation, and I think the gameplay itself use this concept, too. Like in war or spnionage, you will be cheated. Even the trailers on these games do the same thing.

Bit of a stretch, but.... if Para Medic was one of the Patriots and deeply entrenched in secrecy then could it be that Naomi's report of Dr Clarkes death was the first time the information had broken surface and the actual date of death couldn't be confirmed so was listed as the report date?

The game was a mistake
Maybe there's more than just one Dr Clark, so Para-medic would've been A Dr Clark, not THE Dr Clark.
Just like Naked Snake and the many Snakes.
I love the fact that Huey tries to spit the truth out of boss about Dr. Clark, knowing that he must know her, as the legends said, and slightly hinting us that we are not the original Big boss (AI did it first tho)

After operation Snake Eater, Mrs. Clark was solely operating with Les Infant Terribles and alongside Big Boss...but her husband was working behind the scenes more exclusively with the Patriots. He's the head of trying to bring old Frank back, all in the name of building the better soldier... Mrs. Clark goes along with it all b/c she believes in the pursuit of science saving lives. Two years before Shadow Moses Naomi was working under Mr. Clark and she helps Frank break out and destroy the lab. Mrs. Clark was able to evade death but was on the run for two years...Frank eventually catches up to her (working on perfecting genome therapy on the soldiers in Shadow Moses). Once he confirms her death with Naomi, she tells him to flee, but then he learns Solid Snake is at Shadow Moses?! Upon learning this, he reaches out to his old friend...MGS1

I think it was a writing error turned on it's head.
By headcanon it can only be, that she had to be secretive over the years. She worked with the CIA and faked her death probably more often than once, and reemerged as a man. Why she would keep the same name, I dunno, but from a simple writing error that's all one CAN conclude about Dr. Clark.
It becomes even funnier when Huey talks to Big Boss about Clark, and he doesn't know - I know it's Venom he's talking to, but he outright knows Big Boss and fantasizes about Paz in high detail. Though that can be explained away as Venom not trusting Huey, but there is no real indication of that - so he might not shed information about that... or the brainwashing theraphy during his coma never mentioned Dr. Clark.
None of the characters mentioned, btw., have any real knowledge about Clark either - they were present, but they didn't work for the CIA, and / or, didn't know a Dr. Clark worked on 2 missions with Naked Snake.
(i.e.: I live around people, of course, but I don't know every single neighbor.)
Just like Peace Walker, Ground Zeroes, and Phantom Pain, Metal Gear 1 and Metal Gear 2 showed us how Big Boss went from being a food-loving doofus to a child soldier-rearing, war-mongering, dictator, maybe they retconned Para-medic's death so that a future title could show us how the FOX support team went from happy-go-lucky in MGS3 to their more seedy versions shown in MGS4.
I own mgs5 series on Xbox still haven't bothered playing through both got bored of the stealth BS and haven't been back since last year
A little theory. Naomi says she freed gray fox, so there is a possibility that she met dr Clark, or someone she thought was Dr Clark. This could have been a male Dr thought to be Dr Clark. Gray fox could have killed this man in 2003. Then in 2005 para medic might have actually finally been killed.
There no more sequel due to kojima leaving(left already) I don't see any future of more mgs besides what we have today phantom pain

I think Konami has no idea where this series is going or if they even want to continue it. Their decisions about popular franchises they own have ranged from bad to awful, and Kojima isn't involved anymore. I doubt anyone there has the interest, dedication, or talent to make a game that works within the established timeline. Likely we'll get something with massive plotholes if we get anything at all.
How is this a mistake when one of the recurring themes of the franchise is misinformation. Naomi is not a reliable character either. She could have lied or been lied to. We don't know how she even learned about Dr. Clark's death

It's even more sad I found out kojima wasn't interested bringing back David hayter He wanted a new voice actor to be the voice of venom snake But I'm not going to lie He didn't do bad either I actually enjoyed keifer Sutherland as venom snake I was actually impressed by his performance when I first pre-ordered metal gear solid 5 ground zeros for Xbox 360 I was blown away by the graphics Even though the game was 3 hours short But the story was intense and fully immersive But I really do hope David hayter return as solid snake if Konami is planning to remake metal gear solid 1 without him it's not MGS1 and I will be very pissed if they rehire keifer Sutherland as solid snake it wouldn't make sense and it will completely ruin MGS1 remake
@Commander's Gaming Channel he should, the only reason keifer works as snake in mgsv is because he literally isn't snake, just a body double. The audio logs from big boss being in venom snake's voice kinda pisses me off tho
@@MemeLordCthulhu Actually you're wrong I played MGS5 ground zeros and the phantom pain twice venom snake is not a body double He is actually a direct clone of Big Boss with all of his memories copied and pasted into the clone venom snake while the real Big Boss is out there continuing on his quest of World domination meanwhile venom snake has no interest of world domination instead he wanted to create outer heaven for lost soldiers who have no meaning or purpose in life and he created diamond dogs for the sole purpose of gathering people who worked with big boss and recruiting lost soldiers without a purpose The audio logs is also voiced by Keifer Sutherland But it's supposed to be the original Big Boss that you see from MGS4 but Kojima productions was unable to rehire Richard Doyle who voiced Big Boss which was never explained But I don't hate Keifer Sutherland because he sounds like David hayter But with a little bit lighter voice He sounds like a younger version of solid snake so I actually grew to like Keifer Sutherland But David hayter Will always be solid snake
