Mathew did not start the group. Andretta Tillman did. He didn't get the record deals for them, she did. He only took over after she passed away. And made his daughter the star. He threatened to take Beyonce out the group of he wasn't a co-manager. Lord y'all gon stop giving this man undeserved credit
I’m going to look into her life a little more, a book was written about her. I know Mathew didn’t start the group but he said he got them the deal with Colombia Records in 1997.
Apparently Destiny’s Child wasn’t his first act either. He said Lil O was his first artist and he got him a deal too, with MCA.
Sadly, Andretta passed away in 1997.
@@RenieNostalgic there's a book about it and I believe there's a documentary that goes with that book on Prime. It's called The Making Of a Child of Destiny by Brian Moore. In fact, Kelly was living with Andretta first, but moved in with the Knowles because she was getting a little too close with one of her sons, plus the fact that her health was getting worse, and it was hard to get Kelly to rehearsals. So SHE asked them if they could look after her.
AND Kelly wasn't even supposed to still be in the group, she was supposed to have left when the other girls got let go from GT. The record companies didn't want her because she was too shy and stiff, but Andretta fought to keep her in there because she saw potential in her. That book was an eye opener, they completely erased her from history. I lost a lot of respect for him after that

Kelly was only supposed to live with the Knowles for a year & it ended up being until she was legally grown. The Knowles are basically her family & it’s not uncommon for that to happen in the south. Even Jay Z calls her his sister & her eldest son Noah and Blue are friends.

Great Video a lot of things I didn't know about Matthew but I also was a Fan FAVORITE of Kelly and still is to this day I love her Voice always have and I think that Beyonce didn't do much speaking bcuz her voice was deep when she spoke to ppl and it still is she can sing but when speaking her voice is raspy nothing wrong with that just sometimes you couldn't understand what she was saying loved when Latoya was in the group wish they could have stay a group of 4 as they started with the original members but hey life goes on

It looks to me that they did their best to keep Kelly in her place because she very well may have surpassed Beyoncé. That woman is ridiculously gorgeous! Be honest. Kelly is a 5 out of 10 in terms of beauty, some days 6 oit of 10, Beyoncé is a 9 out of 10, she also although has a good voice, body and can dance, she can't sing and dance as much as Beyoncé. Everyone deep down knew it and I think Beyoncé even admitted to having the strongest vocals hence she was made the lead and I appreciate her straightforward honesty. Sure she had Jay Z advantage however that left by her 3rd album which was single handedly carried by her.
I strongly disagree. Kelly has ALWAYS been VERY insecure. Despite having probably the best voice in the group she had no control over it until the motivation era. Kelly will always be my favorite but she lacked the drive and Constance Beyoncé has. At the end of the day kelly is a good performer but she fell out of music by her own choice, doing countless tv shows and even when she did music she never really focused on it.
