    I have 10 days in now shooting fast moving sports with this camera; (football at night, indoor volleyball, basketball, etc), and it really is a game changer when it comes to high ISO/ low noise in an APS-C sensor camera. Very usable printable shots up to ISO 10,500+ and and amazing auto-focus system (right out of the 1Dx) grabs instant focus and never lets go. Also the 10 fps really makes it shine for sports photographers. Very happy with it!

    To the touchscreen fanatics....
    This camera is meant to be used in all weathers. Have you ever tried to use a touch screen in sub zero temperatures or when its covered in water? I have....and its not a beautiful experience.

    Firstly let me say I'm not a Canon person I'm a person who is not swung by brands. For a long time I had a a full frame Sony a850, a Sony a77 and I was really happy with them until I changed my ball game and started shooting wildlife. I tried every camera out there and at the time price wasn't an option and I ended up getting a Canon 1Dx. I tried Nikon, I tried every brand but the 1Dx for wildlife photography won the ball game, especially the ISO performance although the top Nikons performed great and had a similar ISO performance it was at 16 MP compared to the 18 MP on the 1Dx. However one downside to the full frame is losing that crop sensor magnification so I looked at buying a 7D or a 70D to use alongside the 1Dx. ISO was usable up to 800 ISO I don't use a tripod I need to get about in forests and not be hampered carrying one with a 500mm lens so I rarely shoot below 1000 ISO I live in England quite often overcast! So I tried again all crop sensor cameras I wasn't bothered about matching lenses with my 1Dx because it would always have a 500mm attached nothing else. I could not find 1 that performed great at high ISO in all the crop sensor ranges that was sturdy enough to take the knocks also. When the 7D MK2 came along that changed the ball game. For all the reasons Scott mentions here unless you have used a MK2 then don't knock it. I agree however if you shoot Nikon, Sony whatever changing lenses would be expensive so stick with your brand. However personally I feel at the moment for the price, focus (it's no good having lots of points if they don't get a shot in focus ;) ) and the ISO this is the best out there. I would not touch another crop sensor Canon I had the 70D and that was so bad for high ISO but this is really a top professional camera sturdy and does the job tremendously. Buy it!

    As I've said before I own all 3, a 5d mkiii, a 1dx and a 7d mkii. They all are great in their own ways.. for nature and sports they are also all good. Even the 5d mkiii takes killer sports and nature shots at only 6 fps. Many nature photographers can own the 1dx but they like the idea of getting closer with the 7d mkii and if you use a $6000-$10000 dollar lens then your getting even more light onto the 1.6 crop sensor. I like the 7d mkii because it enables me to have the perfect light weight setup with a 400 5.6 non is lens. I also have my 1dx set-up with a 500 F4 is lens and 1.4x tele. Both set-ups are great for birds in flight and I don't always want to carry my $15k setup around so that is why I own the 7d mkii. Is a 7d mkii with a 400 5.6 as good as a 1dx with a 500 F4 is... F@ck no are you crazy and Scott Kelby even said the same thing. Is the 7d mkii the best crop sensor cam out there at the moment... I think yes as nobody else has a 400 5.6 telephoto but canon and it's the first crop sensor camera that the image quality doesn't look horrible with grain. So if your not looking to spend 10- 15k then you really don't have crap for choices to get you there. You can go backwards and get a 7d version one with a 400 5.6 or nikon 300s with a 300 F4 and a 1.4 tele. Don't believe the hype that the new 7d mkii is on the same level as a Nikon 300s because it's not even close. Both those cameras are horrible in low light. The original 7d version one was a tad better than the 300s. I know this because my buddy and I own both. The 5d mkiii is an awesome in between the 7d mkii and 1dx but closer to the 1dx. But again if your looking to get closer with a 5d mkiii or a 1dx then you will need to get a 500 lens and 1 .4 tele to be on the same page as the new 7d mkii crop camera and a 400 lens. The other thing is the 5 d mkiii is on the same level as the 1dx as far as image quality. The 1dx has a few things that make it a better camera and many of the features you may never use. The main ones for me are the 1dx has a slightly better keeper rate for birds in flight because of its AF system and the 12 fps. I used a 5d mkiii for birds in flight all this year and it was killer. Now I'm using the 7d mkii with 400 5.6 and a 1dx with a 500 F4 and a 1.4 tele. My 5d mkiii is put away for portraits and landscapes. I really don't need two full frame cameras for birds. But out of all honesty the 1dx or 5d mkiii with a giant telephoto is still better than a 7d mkii with a 400 5.6. The 7d mkii is definitely just under and in the ball park with the other top level Canon DSLR cams. So you can stop wondering because that right from the horses mouth. I love the new 7d mkii.

    You mentioned that this is the best noise performance you have seen on a crop sensor camera. Can you share your thoughts on the performance of the 7D Mark II especially in low light, as compared to the 70D (non-action photography)? Thanks!

    • @fffeuchtner
      @fffeuchtner 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      He said the best performance on a "DSLR" and then "on a Canon DSLR". Go to DXO mark and check out the noise performance of Canon APS-C sensor cameras. You will be quite disappointed. Canon has actually some of the worst APS-C sized sensors on the market. Nikon, Pentax, Fuji or Sony are doing a better job than Canon in this area.
      I am a Canon user by the way and use a 6D. I would never go back to an APS-C sized Canon system. They are just not good enough in this space.

      Mark Rufin the Samsung line is just starting, why the hate? I have Canon, but I'm not a fan boy and if Canon doesn't have a new full-frame announcement in the next few months I'm selling it all and moving to Nikon, or even Sony. At least give credit to Samsung for taking a chance with a new form factor and having some great features, like 4K that Canon hasn't been willing to offer.

    Stop obsessing over specs and technical details. The 7D MKII, D7100 etc are way better than most of the cameras used to take the most amazing photos in the last 30 years.
    Perfect your technique as a photographer (and digital manipulator). A tiny increase in ISO performance or dynamic range cannot rescue a fundamentally shit photo. You know that's true....

  • @TerenceKearns
    @TerenceKearns 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    I used the Samsung NX1 to shoot bull riding for half a day, and I have to tell you that 15FPS matters. It has a rediculously high amount of cross-type AF points that go all the way to the edges of the sensor, and it is "back side illuminated" (like Sony's Exmor-R) so I shot ISO3200 because I could. If I was going to pursue sports photography, I would get two NX1s and have one of them pulling 4K video footage and shoot stills with the other. With it's H.265 codec, individual frames are good enough to print. The 7D MkII is a nice evolution, but seriously underwhelming in such an aggressively compettitive market. I agree that you don't need to spend a lot on the camera to be a sports photographer, but you still need to spend a lot on glass. If anything, the NX1's weak point is it's limited choise of lenses, but the 50-150 was certainly sharp and responsive enough for me. The main reason to get the 7D is to get access to canon't lens line-up, and in that respect, Nikon is also a strong contender. Everything else about this camera is nothing to write home about in this day and age.

    • @nicodimus2222
      @nicodimus2222 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Markdean Masanque I don't think comparing facts qualifies anyone as a hater. Canon is measurably lagging behind Nikon in low-light performance on any comparable models. The fact that Kelby is acting as if the opposite is true is bound to raise a lot of eyebrows.
      Many things about cameras are subjective and personal, but low-light performance is not. You can accurately measure it in a controlled way, and get simple numbers to compare. If he said "I like the lens selection better on Canon, and the ergonomics are better for me, and the bursting is faster, and I prefer this autofocus system" that would be perfectly fine. What he is basically saying here is "1000 is so much higher than 1333, don't you agree?"

    I would love to hear Scott's thoughts on the exposure meter disappearing from the top LCD in manual mode and it reverting to a small meter on the right side of the viewfinder. I hate this feature already. Scott shoots a 1DX and may enjoy it. But, most will not. I would love to see a firmware update to get rid of this or at least bring back the option to retain the exposure meter like I have in the 7D and 5D3.

    I am a canon user (70D, 6D, EOS-M, T2i ...etc) and I've been looking at the specs of the 7D MK II, this camera is for wildlife photography and sports. But when I compare the 5D MK III with the 300mm f/2.8 vs the 7D MK II with the 70-200mm IS2 f/2.8 , I really think the IQ of the 7D MK II is soft, therefore I did not buy this camera. For sure when it comes to auto-focus and high ISOs, this is a really really good camera but without good IQ. I would love to think otherwise but I can't help it. It would have been nice if canon could have gotten both features on par at the same time.

  • @paristo
    @paristo 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Interesting how 1.6x crop factor is so huge benefit, when it comes from Canon (or Nikon), and when it comes from Olympus or Panasonic (2x crop factor) it is bad because you don't get the thin depth of field. The 1.6x and 2x crop factors has the another benefit over Small Format (35mm), and it is they get 1-2 stops (1.6x has 1 EV and 2x has 2 EV) densier light for required depth of field.
    No sport photography is most cases about using long focal lenghts, meaning the depth of field is often much narrower (if subject size is same on frame between focal lengths, then using same aperture gives same depth of field) and in sport there is more than just eye or face what is wanted to be in focus. So often photographer is required to use smaller aperture like f:5.6 or f:8 or sometimes even go to f:11-16 to get enough depth of field to get people in situation sharp. And as sport is often fast movement, they need to keep shutter speed up. And then they have the problem, they need to raise ISO. Now the m4/3 system has 2 stops benefit for given depth of field, 1.6x crop gives 1 stop benefit. And that is huge benefit. And in sports you often need reach, and you need to move a lot as well, instead just sit down in audience and shoot from there. And when you have 1-2 stops benefit to use for faster shutter speed or lower ISO, you get better results. And same time you get 1.5x or 2x narrower angle of view from same focal length, you have more reach.
    Mirrorless are future, not because smaller size or lighter (you can carry two cameras instead one, or four instead two...) but because Electronical View Finder. The Optical View Finder was great 5 years ago when compared that era EVF. But today there is no lag (avarage person reaction time is slower than 230-260ms) that would cause problems (EVF can have 16-32ms lag) as you as photographer are always 7-10x slower to react things than camera. EVF benefit is speed, you see what you get, you don't test exposures or white balance, you see it exactly before you even take the shot. And EVF allows you to check the shot immediately while holding either shutter button down (single-frame mode) or pressing preview, without taking camera off from your eye. You are faster to take next shot without missing the moment while staring the rear LCD and trying to read histogram to see did the exposure hit or zoom in/out did you get the focus when you see right away from EVF.
    It takes few years now for Canon/Nikon DSLR fans to change their opinion when Canon/Nikon updates their top DSLR bodies as mirrorless (keeping same size, sensors etc because they can't abandon legacy objectives or change mount or handling). And then they are singing same songs....
    This was good review of the Canon 7D Mk2, but interesting to promote features that typically are claimed to be weaknesses of any smaller format than Small Format cameras.

    At 3:00 I had to stop this video because I was LOL about the crop sensor making a a 200 lens a 320 mm. Nope, you just have a smaller sensor that takes the center of the image a full frame would take. You also loose a stop.
    Now if the nr of pixels on the APC are the same as on the FF then there is the benefit that your pixels are on a composition that is smaller, but so are the pixels themselves so likely more noise.

    Scott, you said it had amazing high ISO performance. You said "the best I've ever seen in an APS-C camera" well that might be technically true in that it is 1 stop better than my old T3i and the 7D do. However, you presented it as though it would be amazing. It isn't. It is better than the 7D but that is nothing to brag about at all.
    It's got a crop factor of 1.6 woot! You keep talking about it like that's a special feature of the 7D. It is helpful, but when you couple not stellar high ISO performance and a crop sensor it really isn't going to produce amazing results.
    It is good. I wish you would talk about it like it is good, instead of saying "people are going to loose their minds" and "game changer."
    You're talking about low light performance at 3:15+ as a "game changer." It isn't.
    Scott, I have liked your stuff and I didn't really understand when people were saying you were in Adobe's pocket but these 7DII videos really make me feel like you are in Canon's pocket. You may not be... but if you aren't why are you making sales videos for their products? Why are you hyping the 7D as a "game changer" when it isn't.
    Like I wrote before, these videos have changed my impression of the 7D. I am now very suspect and will wait for a lot of reviews and I will test one myself for a while before I order it - IF I order it. It was a done decision for me to get this camera until I saw how you are acting.

      You know what? A Sony shooter would hype the new Sony camera, a Nikon shooter would hype the newest Nikon. Canon shooters would get a lot out of Scott's excitement, so if you aren't a Canon shooter then don't watch Canon based videos. I shoot Canon, so I'm not going to go and hype up the Sony A7s because I don't shoot with it.
      Scott is a great photographer, a wonderful educator and quite the author. He has all the credibility he needs to recommend this camera. It's a great camera. Sure, the Sony cameras may have some IQ advancements, but that means very little to the vast majority of shooters. Just ask the thousands upon thousands of photographers making money from their Canon cameras. I'm sure that if the Sony cameras meant anything to them they would all shoot Sony.
      Pick the brand you like, the gear you want and shoot. Simple. Being a gear head criticizing everything doesn't seem like a productive way to spend one's time.

      FAMUCHOLLY I love my A77ii, and I really want to see some legit head-to-head reviews comparing the two, but I'm pretty sure the A77ii does NOT 'blow it out of the water' in EVERY category bar one! It will beat it in some, and get beaten in some others, but I expect they will all be close. Your second paragraph is pretty spot on though - it's no game changer.
      I think the 7Dii is better than you seem to think. Things like a headphone jack and dual card slots are big deals to me, and while they are in one of these two, it's not the one I have! These are important in a camera of this class, and we missed out on them. Also, I suspect that while the raw files at high ISO are fairly comparable (maybe an edge to the 7Dii from what I've seen) the jpg engine in the Canon blows the Sony away (Sony's is pretty awful at noise reduction in the high iso jpgs in camera). These are fairly big things that need to be considered when comparing the two, so the A77ii doesn't win everywhere, but it will beat it in quite a few areas - possibly even the most important ones, depending on your point of view.
      Yes, the blinkers on from Canon and Nikon annoys me with this stuff, but I'm sure the Pentax guys feel the same too!

    My Canon 7D Mark II arrived today and I soon discovered it's not compatible with LightRoom 5.6 or Photoshop CC2014. Canon told me they re-engineered the CR2 files and they will only work with Canon's software. Does anyone know when Adobe might release a fix for this? A Canon Tech Support person told me he thought Adobe would probably have a fix in a few months. Incredible! The CR2 files also don't preview in Windows Explorer either. They do, however work in Picassa...
    You'd think Canon and Adobe would have been communicating with each other on this. The 7D Mark II is a major camera release. And I assume a few Canon owners also use Photoshop.

      Import RAW in Canon Digital Photo Proffessional or another convertor , Export in batch and convert your RAW's in TIFF . Open Lightroom and Import the TIFF's as " Apply " ( not convert as DNG ) . You can edit your pictures in Lightroom !

    I'm having trouble believing Mr. Kelby here considering reviews by +Tony Northrup and others mention that whilst he 7d MkII has OK ISO in low-light situations, it is by far not "the best". DXO Mark has the 5D MkIII as 52% better ISO performance compared to the 7d MkII. Granted, this has 10fps burst and an insane buffer, probably better AF too.

    • @bsodmike

      That was my point, FF inherently has less noise due to the extra real-estate area on CMOS. I've since sold my Canon gear and now shoot a Nikon D810 & D500 - best of both worlds :)

    Yes a Nikon might give slightly better image quality but Ive tested this to the Nikon d7200 and D750 and the & 7dm2 blew me away with the shot to shot time . .As for image quality whats better to have 10 focused images to choose from or 6 that might be in focus...The Canon also felt a lot more comfortable to hold. I do not have particularly large hands both Nikons seam a bit cramped ...Oh and for mirrorless cameras the only one that can keep up with this is the Samsung NX1..Good luck finding great lenses for that system..Oh and for Sony try showing up to a high paid Job with a Camera that looks like a toy.. I'm not saying they can't do the Job but people expect big high end gear for big Jobs....

    Yes a crop frame gets you closer, but you also lose stops of light, which nearly defeats the purpose of spending $2300 on a 70-200 L lens. You might as well buy a much cheaper EFS lens at 4.5/5.6 with a longer zoom and save your money by fixing the exposure in post. You arent buying the 70-200 L merely to get 200mm close. You are buying it b/c you can specifically shoot at 2.8 throughout the focal range. Light is everything. Almost more so than reach. Dont get me wrong I think the 70D MkII is a decent camera however. But, I dont think its a game changer by any means. The Dual Pixel AF is a plus. The 10 FPS is a plus. But Canon should be in the mid 30MP range by now like Nikon and we are still in the low 20s. Its ridiculous. Clarity and focus is why we are shooting. We'd much rather have more pixels to work with than an extra frame or two a second. And the 70D MkII should have a swivel screen since its touting its video capability. Plus, it has no w-fi. A "game-changer" for me is building robust W-Fi into a new DSLR with pre-builr tethering apps to your social media accounts such as Flickr, Facebook, and Twitter so if you are connected to the web via Wi-FI with your camera, you can automatically flag a photo to be posted (say, with the rating button) directly from your camera to your social media channel. The Eye-Fi card is a watered-down imitation of this that does not synchronize with non-photo album social media, only other WiFi devices. For me, THIS IS THE BIGGEST PENDING GAME CHANGER in DSLRs. I want to be able to shoot photos at the soccer match or graduation party and instantly upload them to my social channels directly from the camera with the camera doing it all within the camera itself. It simply shouldnt be that hard to do if you just build the app hooks and tethers into the firmware.

      Have you actually used the wifi from a 6D? or a 70D? Seriously? I have... and using it makes me want to break the camera in half. crop sensors do just that, they crop. They do not magnify. If you crop a photo in PS and then click "fit to screen" did it magnify? no, it just cropped in tighter. BEst example of this is in astro photography. If you take a 400mm on a 1D or a 7D, and photograph Saturn, you do not see the rings any clearer. I've tried it.

Folks, if you're one of the few out there who still do NOT know, there IS NO MAGNIFICATION FACTOR on APS-C sensor dSLRs!!! It's a crop. The subject in your 200mm zoom is PRECISELY the SAME SIZE in your eye on a "full frame" or 1.6x FOV crop dSLR. There is NO size increase.

    • @OliverLeu_Gitarrenunterricht
      @OliverLeu_Gitarrenunterricht 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Kathi Robbins Yes, it's a crop. But the effect is the same like a 1.6x magnification, when we assume that the crop cam and the FF have same MP count.

You gotta do what you gotta do to get that Canon money, but you gotta decide whether you want to be the sales pitch guy for canon or someone people look to for honest unbiased opinion. You can't be both. Even the D7100 beats this camera in every catagory that matters (noise, dynamic range, etc.). When compared to the D750 it's night and day.

      ***** Which pros are you talking about, other guy on the internet? The only one I've heard even mention this is Scott and if you don't believe he's not getting paid by Canon in some form to do these 9 minute commercials then you are beyond naive. If this is just a commercial, just come out and say it instead of pretending to be a source of real information. His Kelby training brand loses a lot of credibility when he's this biased and doesn't disclose it. Also, the other guy on the internet, Scott offers no proof to support his "best cropped camera" claim. D7100 which is almost 2 years old beats this brand new "best" camera in every spec and it's not even close: www.dxomark.com/Cameras/Compare/Side-by-side/Canon-EOS-7D-Mark-II-versus-Nikon-D750-versus-Nikon-D7100___977_975_865 . Scott has compared this quality with being close to full frame even and that's an even bigger joke if you compare the d750 with it. You don't have to believe me, but I don't have any ax to grind with either Canon or Nikon. I don't own any stock, I've never met any of their reps, they've never asked me to do a video and I'm just some guy on the internet who loves photography. Scott on the other hand, well, a casual observer can see he's biased. Next time you're watching an NFL game, see which cameras they use and that will tell you what you need to know.

    • @Arieeeee
      @Arieeeee 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** Well of course it would beat a 5 year old camera, but it only beats it in high ISO. Compare it to the 2 year old D7100 and see how the D7100 mops the floor with it in ISO, Dyanmic range, etc. etc. Only difference is, Nikon isn't paying him.

      Arie your totally wrong.. I just bought this camera and I own a 1dx, a 5d mkiii and a 7d version one. The Nikon 300s is on the same level as my 7d v.1 and is terrible in low light. I know this because my shooting partner is a Nikon guy and we always have favor our full frames over our 300s and 7d v.1. We shoot birds of prey from an inflatable boat in the river and marshes every week and know how terrible crop sensor cameras are in low light. We actually make jokes about our crop cameras and talk about tossing them in the river. The reason I bought the 7d mkii is I wanted to get closer with a 400mm 5.6 lens. It gets tiring carrying a 500mm f4 is lens around on my full frames. 12 lbs holding up for more than 30 seconds gets tiring from an inflatable boat. I own two great full frame cameras and tried th 7d mkii in the camera store and was blown away. It is a crop sensor and probably the first and only that is on the level of a full frame as far as noise. I'm still having a hard time understanding how a crop sensor is so good. Maybe the new sensor design I don't know but it is closer to the image quality of my 5d mkiii than it is to my 7d v.1 or my buddy's 300s. Say what you want but your wrong. Also Kelby is not making shit up about this, he's probably one of the few that I trust about the performance on the 7d mkii. Tony Northrup is also a very honest person and he's not getting paid from Canon. He just posted a review of this yesterday.

    • @Arieeeee
      @Arieeeee 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      The AF system may be great on the 7D, but how can you honestly say the noise level is about the same as a full frame? Compared to a D610, D800, D810, or D750, there is absolutely no contest. Having a cropped sensor doesn't magically give you more reach, there is always a compromise and that compromise is reduced quality pixels due to increased density.

The 7D mkII is built almost identical to the 5DIII with outstanding ruggedness, amazing speed and advanced AF features, basically performs just like Canon's more expensive cameras. The only main difference is the sensor size. But that is trivial considering that there are sensors bigger than the standard FF sensors found in more expensive bodies, so what is it that makes the 7DII not a Pro level camera?

      +Olof L Depends, if your a canon photographer, you will think the D500 is good, but it doesn't kill the world famous 7D mkii.
      And of course the D500 will most likely be better because the 7Dmkii came out over 2 years ago. But just wait until the 7Dmkiii comes out.

    OVER PRICED AND OVER RATED !!! AND SCOTT KELBY HAS LOST ALL HIS COOL POINTS !!! THE SONY A77II BLOWS THIS CAMERA AWAY !!!

  • @angelisone

    ATG and many shooters would rather pick & use the Samsung NX1 and Sony SLT-A77 Mark II.
    Hey you guys & gals these two are being paid. You will learn very little from Kelby classes. All they do... marketing and talk you to death.
    Canon and B&H Photo are putting money in Scott's pocket.

    Still booooooring! I have the old one and wouldn´t buy the new one! Why?
    Canon has lost the position as technologyleader and is follower behind Sony and the other smaler companies...
    That isn´t another try to create a hype. But where is the beef?
    The same at the photokina, biggest productshow without setting new technological standards.

      Sellout, why? Because he doesn't shoot the brand you shoot? Look at any pitch by any manufacturer on TH-cam. They all talk about their new cameras like they were carved out of stone by God himself. What do you want Scoot to do? Say "Meh. It's a decent camera. Buy it if you want, or go buy a Sony A7R." Seriously?

    The one thing the 7D II has going for it is the AF-system. Otherwise, you might as well buy a Sony a6000 -> 10fps, great noise performance, small package.

      @kevindiossi 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Sony a6000 is a dismal sports camera. The 10fps is a marketing point for sure, but in real world use, the AF tracking is terrible and if 2 or 3 out of 10 images of a moving subject are in focus, what's the point of the extra fps? Not taking away from the capabilities of the excellent a6000, but it's just not a useful 10fps unless you're shooting something not moving very aggressively across the frame. The a6000 packs a lot of punch for someone looking for a smaller, light, CHEAPER package. Just not for sports.

      Kevin DiOssi you are wrong kevin....its 10 out of 10 images...just used the Lock AF and you are good to go.

      Kevin DiOssi Agree Kevin. But Sony a77 MII is a better choice IMHO. Here is the DXOmark comparision: www.dxomark.com/Cameras/Compare/Side-by-side/Canon-EOS-7D-Mark-II-versus-Sony-SLT-Alpha-77-II___977_953

      obayed haque I've never handled the new A77 MkII, so I cannot say anything positive or negative about it aside from what I see on paper. The hard truth is that I own 8 Canon lenses, 1 Canon extender, 8 Canon flashes, 2 complete wireless remote systems for Canon (1 is a backup), and countless other stuff.
      I don't care about DXO scores, otherwise I would have abandoned Canon long ago for not doing well in an arbitrary test. Canon is behind - no doubt. But, as a professional shooter, dealing with Canon, it's community, professional services and support is second to none for me.
      Making a career off the gear you use is a large financial and a somewhat personal investment. Canon has never done me wrong. My photos are still looking every bit the way I want them to. Until I start asking more from my images or camera features, I'll be staying put.

      ***** excuse my Sony ignorance, but wouldn't locking the AF result in just that: locking the AF? The 7D1, 7D2, 5D3, and 1DX are all able to track focus in servo while blasting out 8, 10, 6, and 12fps, respectively.
