Beautiful game i love it been playing from the beginning. It's an acquired taste and something very for myself. It's expensive now so definitely look up reviews everywhere before you buy

Ive played citadel for about 3 days Ive played every survival and I really enjoy the harry potter aspect it reminds me of the chamber of secrets ps2 game with the broom stick mechanics. Playing on Official Pvp servers on xbox are mostly full around 3pm est so there is alot of spell battles with a reasonable amount of different spells to attack,defend and heal. The battles are worth the 30$ usd.
The game isn't grindy at all once you figure out the best weapon, spells, and reagent combo to use. I've found using melee weapons with storm essence (lightning) which ticks ALOT and allows you to AOE down entire groups with ease. The secret sauce is to add leech to your AOE which also heals you for any damage you do to NPCs. Your health stays near full with AOE + leech when taking on entire camps of enemies. I've gotten to level 50+ in just a few days doing this. I just go to NPC camps and steam roll them. After lvl 30 I was getting a level every 30 mins or so.
Recomend it? I have the game in my Cart, never played these type of games even though I wanted to. Never found a title of this type of game I was willing to spend money on until I saw this.
@@ferchango6359 it's worth trying if you don't mind risking $40, otherwise wait for a sale or try a cheaper survival game so you get a feel for if you like the genre

Phoenix is xtremely easy to tame. Been playing 5 days and have 2 of em. Small tribe of 2 ppl. Arguably we are seasoned gamers, but still. Everything revolves around levels. You can only tame things 10 lvl higher than you, dont go chasing lvl 60 phoenix when u are only lvl 20! Of course it will 1 shot you....
The music is very elderscrolls. I love how relaxing it is.

@@phant0mwolf421 theres a player in raincourt that has a big town build and with a long walkway to help new players , her name Aeva she help ppl that join! Go to raincourt and go south on your map youll see the huge tower from far
Jade if you turn down your flight speed it will also affect all flying npcs I know this sucks but it's the only way to slow down those dragons.

there is a creative mode, though it's a hidden setting that has to be enabled server side. also, you could use the admin command /masterbuilder to enable it for yourself.

Great review jpg, probably one of your best tbh. As for the to grindy part I think you are wrong. I remember when I first started playing ark and it would take an age to gather resources to just build some wooden gates or an etirnity until you unlocked say the chem bench. I think its on the same level as ark and conan for grinding so if your a fan of official on them games you wont really notice the grind. The rest of the review I would agree with you, the world is a bit samey but if they put the time in adding content then this could be a great game. Im really enjoying it upto now.

Husband and I got the game, played for 2 days got bored. We play ark survival evolved, so we even if we dont want to end up comparing survival games to it. I love the taming aspect in ark being able to breed and such after. I got a unicorn on CID the first day. And just didnt care anymore lol
They need to put this game in the spotlight asap or add crossplay between xb1 and ps4! Rust come out next year for console so they better pick up the pace fast if they want to get players into the game. I don't even think PlayStation showed a launch trailer for this. It probably was over shadow by other game release for console. I'll check out other reviews and see what other people say but right now for 40 it's a no for me unless I get some extra money or ppl really really say this game is fun. I'll try wait for a sale when it's like 30 or less. I heard it's like Rust but with magic and it can be more PVE base as well depending on the servers.
Lol alot of those cons are like every other survival besides the enemies other survival games have a good amount of enemies
Npc spawn rates can be increased and are on most decent servers adding challenge and filling those places that feel empty on the map.
When crafting robes, hats etc, is there a description of the materials you need to craft said items?
So i fall into the category of player that Is used to playing survival games, i'm just wondering what the multiplayer servers are like currently? Tempted to buy this but i don't want to be wasting cash on a dead game.
Save your money. The game is mostly dead and boring. I played it for 3 months in a official pvp server. I finally quit. Maybe if you had a few friends it will be ok but you probably be over it like i am.

The player base is not dead the playerbase is new. This game only came out like 1-2 months ago on consoles. There is a difference, however that being said the game has it’s pros and cons. If you are into these games for pvp then don’t get this yet ark is a better choice or conan exiles for an even better choice for pvp.

Ark and conan had full servers live and kicking 3months after it launched. This game they played it for a month and left. I been playing since launch and finally quit due to loneliness. But he more then welcome to get on and come take my base on a dead pvp official server. It's still up.

Yeah I'm a bit unsure of this, ARK was alright and annoyed me but I love Skyrim and magic etc so yeah I'm unsure but what's it like now?
New update to the game is fantastic. Adds a real story line to the game and a lot of new raiding/pvp mechanics.

I want to say that JADE is completely entitled to his opinion but I do feel some of his reviews are not wrong but more uninformed. There a elements in the game that are designed to make harvesting easier, I will say that it is highly dependent on the damage you are doing. So as you level harvesting becomes IRRELEVANT! I do mean the regular harvest materials not grown or monster dropped items. The taming is a ten level gap. So at the start you can tame anything to up to level 10. Getting beat down by boars... tame one. It's not difficult. As he said get on a rock. It's not a cheese , if your attacker can't climb....you climb. There are MANY things to discuss and if I had the ability to record and publish videos I would. If there are any questions you have you're more than welcome to join my Mixer stream Roroyourboat. JADE PG , open invite still stands to join our House and experience a pvp official server and maybe we can learn more about it together.

Ah dude love the enthuasm but this game won't be around long unless the devs seriously show some plans to improve. I am gonna play a bit more likely pvp but I keep myself to myself an subs cheers tho. Also you disagree away. I know you can get tools to harvest more etc but it's just poorly layed out how to achieve all that. Once I play more pvp and get a hig level tame I may do a Full review
@@Jade-PG oh i dont disagree, the game is very lacking in guidance. I did say your views were possible just uninformed, as are lots of others , including myself. I do however wish for this game to succeed so affording people the knowledge I've learned is more my intent. I've waited a very long time for a game like this that involves more than just harvest/build/attack repeat. The addition of the quests, however minimal they may be, lends room for expansion upon the existing system. And if you want to tame a dragon...I'll show you how! The invite wasn't to gain subs or influence. As you do have a way to reach a far larger player base than myself , helping you gain more knowledge to spread the word is all I care for. Like a mana generator powering something for 2 full days instead of filling up your smelter in ark and running out of fuel in 2 hours..yes I know spark powder lasts longer. There are just so many of the right calls made in this I dont want a good game to fall by the wayside. Keep those videos coming!

People complain about spending 40-60$ for a game when it costs thousands and more to make games , no game is perfect. No game is going to please everyone or meet everyone's standards this isn't a AAA game title, so comparing it to one or holding it to that standard is ridiculous.
Can compare it to Conan maybe? Game does not have to be perfect but it does need to show its got comtent. Early access games are meant to be games that get made over time. Citadel is OK but it hasn't had enough put into it. Fact they are talking about road maps an suchlike yet haven't announced a ything is worrying

It costs millions of dollars to make games and even indie games can potentially make hundreds of millions (terraria, Minecraft, etc.) So no consumer needs to worry about the developers pockets.

Why is the sprint feature a spell rather than pressing a button?
i like that, it was annoying at first but means spells are more then just damage dealers

There is a Sprint button, but it's slow and the map is large, making it hard to simply traverse by foot. The speed spell, Haste, makes it easier.

Unless you're on console. The devs confirmed on discord that just pushing the joystick all the way is sprinting. Pushing it Midway is just jogging. They did it this way so they don't have to push an extra button

There's so much I dont like about this review. I'll just touch on the one obvious one though. Instead of complaining that enemies fly at break-neck speeds maybe try turning those settings down from 5x flight speed.
Haha fair point but I would argue its. A broken game mechanic to have them linked. The whole point of customizers is taht you can make the game easy or hard not make it seemingly easier but it actually increases the hardness. Also that's a pretty poor one to dislike if you have that many speak freely
Thanks for acknowledging that for sure. This seemed pretty rushed. I completely understand that this game is not for everybody, but at the same time you made the review. The highest level you see you've reached in the video was 32. At the 5x rates you were set at that's all of 2 hours worth of checking out the game for an inexperienced player that has to learn the mechanics. You barely touched on the spellcrafting, using only two of the available essence gives no justice to the diversity of builds and how so many of the spells are interchangeable between builds. Literally zero talk on the endgame bosses that are comparable in difficulty to the overseer in ark. There's also built in events such as "not quidditch" (for legal reasons lol). You've only used brooms when essence of wings is the best flight trinket until level 45 and the level 60 version is the 2nd fastest flight in the game. The complaint about the time spent harvesting I strongly believe is mostly due to not understanding how to naturally increase your harvest rates with modifier items, other spells, and better weapons.
The game couldn't run smoother on console, our private server has massive event structures scattered across the map and literally have no issues with lag or rendering. Not to mention it's a meager 5.8gb install.
In the end I appreciate seeing any more content out there about this game. It's been mostly swept under the rug bc it doesn't fit exactly in with either the survival or rpg genre.
Maybe I can catch you streaming sometime if you do the thing. I can walk you through allot of stuff that makes the game much more enjoyable.
in my defence i did say it was more a impressions video an that i would give it a full review once i unlocked end game etc but an this is a big but, the game is already very repetitive an not much reason to carry on, the world an environment is bland with hardly anything different, most worrying of all is the devs who have yet to produce their road map, this game was rushed to console to grab some money, its not a terrible game no an your right there are definitely some good parts which i highlighted in bunch of tutorials videos , but my view point still stands there are better game sto sink time into then this one in state it is in now, i dindt even say avoid it i simply said or outline dbuy it if you like magic and multiplayer dont buy it if you want lots of unique gameplay or single player

With that said, I didn't comment just to shit on you. The intention was constructive criticism. More than happy to help with tips and such for making your next video on this game something productive. The learning curve is super steep, no shame in not getting it off the rip. Hope to see more in the future.

Meh, I love the building aspect of Conan 1000 more than Citadel. And the better the build the more fun it is to blow it up. Plus as a historian using catapults is more fun than shooting fireballs at a castle from a broom in the sky... they could at least let us make floating castles to counteract sky raids.
I love the grind. Just how the game should be. Some sense of achievement when you do get somewhere.
Its players like this that have attention spans of autistic kids that can't play a game for less than 10 mins before they're bored and want micro transactions to speed things up or cheat their way to the end.
Players like that ruin these types of games. If it's too grind go play a different game don't ask for it to be changed. It's the type of genre this game is.

Games need to be engaging especially survival. If tgw world is bland an enemies boring no one wants to grind on that. Its not interesting
A game should be fun when you start playing it. You don't have to watch the first 2 hours of a 3 hour movie before the movie begins to be interesting

@@LnPPersonified you're looking for "Outward" it's a game with magic and survival elements but it's an open world RPG with quests and factions and storylines. Dark Souls combat and no taming though.
Conan exiles Isn't really a grindy game.

Conan is the grindiest game over ever played getting to improved armour was a big no to be doing all that work to have to do it all again like 3 times to improve the armour that was the last straw for me
Building is always grindy in these games, taming pets takes forever in conan too (though it is very hands off). Those are the things that I remember as grindy. And unlike ark you can't tame creatures that do the work at 1000% efficiency either.

This game is boring as bat shit, the wife and I put 3 months into it trying to get our money's worth. The building side is ok but the rest is just brain numbing. Save your time and cash guys there is way better out there like Ark etc.
It's from Virtual Basement LLC. The company that brought you buggy messes like Ark, which were never fixed till this day. Hard pass.
